So I was looking at some of the guild requests and one of them in particular touched home. The user (I forget the user name crying ) talked about how her cat who she got from a pet shop had a severe breathing problem and the pet shop personnel didn't even know, but she chose to house the cat. I think that's a great story of an amazing cat (and also owner, in this case). Congrads! eek

Actually, I think Smokey (my gray mackerel tabby) was abused because he's incredibly shy even after about 6 years of living with us and for a few months after we adopted him, he would start to hiss and/or pee on anyone who entered the premises, 'cept us. My angel's certainly happy now though, and he gets along very well with my other baby, Juliet (a calico). whee

Please share your kitty's (or some one else's) story here.

I think you were talking about my kitty Kenzie. I got her at a pet store and they didn't know she was sick. They offered my money back, but I asked for them to pay for the medication. And also made them promise that they would have Kenzie's brother checked. I did go back and someone had bought her brother, and they said he was sick too. I think it is very sad that the pet store who had a vet check them out didn't know they were sick. She came with a warrenty if I had her check within a week. I went that very day and had her checked. Good thing I did cause the vet said if I had waited she might have died it was that bad. My other kitty Gwynnie was a rescue from the side of the road. My momma's friend across the parking lot found them. This was really upsetting to me because, I know they were being taken care of because Gwynnie didn't come with friends. She didn't have ear mites and although she was small, she was well taken care of. It is important to get your aminals fixed, not to take on the responsiblity of having a pet unless you can take care of them for the rest of their lives, for cats upwards of 18years. They are like children, and please don't have animals and then neglect them if you have children later, they were your babies first. That is my rant.

Yes, I was talking about your story. :whee3:. You made a very important point about responsibility with pets. I've met too many people who don't give their pets the love they need. crying

When there were alot of died trees we cut them up for fire would for my grandma and put it in a HUGE pile of sharp branches. My first cat Daisy climbed on them and we THINK she got a HUGE cut by it. My mother rushed her to the vets and she got stiches (on her belly)

My other 3rd kitty Tiger Lily has a heart murmer, high blood presure, and purrs way to much so she runs out of breath! so she is going through alot T-T
