"Geek-Kon is Madison Wisconsin’s own con for all things geek. Our two-day con is striving to provide a gathering place where all geeks can find their own PG-13 geek fun."
We are a free were a convention/conference found at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 2007 was our first year, and we're trying not to make it our last. As the Secondary Public Relations Coordinator, I created this guild with the help and contributions of my fellow Geek.Kon staffers and volunteers on Gaia. A lot of us are/were UW students and/or alumni who have paid for this convention out of our pockets and with some aid from the UW.Through this guild, we're hoping to garner more support for the Geek.Kon convention and spread the word that we plan on continuing with this into '08 and beyond.
Even if you can't come to the actual convention, you should still find commentary on almost anything geek. If not, then create a thread about it!
So come get your geek on!

:EDIT III: It should be noted that we've moved off of the UW Madison campus and into the Sheraton Hotel for 2009. We've also disbanded the Studet Org since this will allow us to recruit staff from outside the UW system more easily. The university only allows us to have 25% non-students in an SO, which we were about to surpass with a lot of our staffers graduating and moving on. Please note, we will be a paid con for the foreseeable future.

I've just gotten back from being up in Manitowoc and talking to Jedd, one of the guys at My Parent's Basement, Mani's only gaming and comic shop. He might be interested in being a vendor. He also let me know about Fire and Ice con up in Appleton. I'm hoping we can do some cross-promo with them.
