Teal orbs flashed, darting in various directions catching glimpses of gold and auburns mixed with the freshness of pure white. Autumn was cascading about the landscape, coating it with its final brush strokes while adding the new lines of limpid white and as specks of the falling snow floated down, a single form sauntered through the empty field, casting its head cautiously searching. The stag stood tall among the foliage mixing with the colors with his tan-ish pelt and rustic antlers.
Though he was well aware he was within a herd's territory, Cavan was unmoved, unable to find himself an isolated place in time to bed down, besides, and he had hoped to meet someone and figured here was the safest place to meet then outside the herd territory. Predators were sure to avoid the Fire Bringer herd as much as they could possibly considering its girth, and Cavan took advantage of this fact. Living outside within no-man's-land would only be begging for the wolves to be biting at their heals.
Nariel...she was perfect. It had been some time since he had seen her last, but his mind held her image vividly. Her kind voice was also present as well as her friendly personality. Both rouges had meet quite some time ago and had several more run ins since that fateful meeting, but now, now he had something more to discuss with her then how were things and if she had found a herd to settle with. Besides, he was curious and longed to see her.

(( O: no worries! <3 )) "Mees Nariel? Mees Nariel?" A gray lapin sprung out of a clump of sage brush near a wheaten hued hind. the rabbit's sides heaved, but the deer gave no fright to the creature for her tone hadn't expressed stress or danger. "Mees Nariel" swung her head around to the fuzzy lapin as she pivoted her large ears. "Yes, 'Linniel?" she questioned, a small smile on her face as she stared at her physically frazzled comrade. She knew conversing with other animals outside of her own species was probably considered odd, but when one had no herd to hide behind, or to converse with, anybody was welcome. "Don't you geev me that leetle smile of yours, meesy," the rabbit scolded, but her stern tone only caused the hind to chuckle. "I have eemportant news for yvoo-" "-Then get on with it, 'mees'," Nariel teased as she let out a merry laugh. Airlinniel wrinkled her nose and Nariel thrust her own out towards her playfully... the lapin only shuffled backwards out of reach and wrinkled her nose again before continuing. "There ees a stag not far avay. I don't theenk he is from thee Firebringer her-""-Cavan!?" The hind exclaimed excitedly. Her already large blue eyes became two times bigger and a large grin spread over her slender face. Not waiting for the rest of her small friend's words, she sprung over the rabbit and loped off. "...and I don't theenk you should- Nariel? Nariel!?" In an exasperated flurry, Airlinniel turned over herself and dashed off after her miss. --- Nariel zig-zagged over the damp ad chilled grassland, dodging rocks and fallen trees as she went. She hadn't seen the tawny hued stag in what felt like ages, and when she spilled over the crest of a lightly frosted hill and saw him, she realized how much she had missed him. "Cavan!" She called happily, laughter playing on her voice. "Cavan."

Her voice whispered like a chime over the wind to him and as he perked at the sound he felt nostalgic and excited all rolled into one. Those teal orbs widened as he swiveled his head, peering this way and that in hopes to catch the lean female in direct sight as she called his name. His voice hitched, feeling the gravity of how much he longed to call out to her before he finally maneuvered the words past his maw.
"Nariel? Nariel!" he seemingly yipped, springing into the air as he sang the words. His finally locked on her brilliant cream colored form then to her shining blue eyes that had captivated his entire being since their first encounter so long ago.
His strong, well muscled legs carried him to her and as he came upon the young hind he gave a quick prance around her, displaying his joy for having been reunited with sweet Nariel. "Nariel...it's been quite some time." So many thoughts flooded to him, each begging for him to speak aloud, but only a few could pass through his lips now. If only they were as romantic as he had wished them to be. "How have you been of late?"
It was a moment later that he finally encountered a new scent. Gazing down he spotted a rather round fuzzy creature and after a second of observation he noted the rabbit.

Nariel laughed merrily when he pranced about her and a warm and caring gaze fell over her face when he finally became still and spoke. She pinned her ears forward and caught every word, and even though they were not "romantic", her heart still fluttered from them.
"I've been fine! I kept trying to look for you, but you're quite hard to track down sometimes." She laughed for a moment and then noticed that he was looking at something.
"Cavan?" She questioned and followed her gaze as she spoke, "what's the...-" She looked down before gingerly lifting the hoof that was near the rabbit. A soft chuckle escaped her and she lowered her head and nudged the gray fur ball before looking back up to the stag.
"My friend, Aerlinniel," she explained, laughter skipping across her tone as she spoke.
Said rabbit just continued to half glare up at the large deer before her misses.

"Ah, well it's a pleasure to meet you Aerlinniel," he spoke politely and with a kind heart even though he was unable to communicate the words directly to the rabbit which he could not understand and he knew could not understand him. At least Nariel was here to translate.
And of course he had heard her explanation. Her words excited him, forcing him to stand proudly and smile almost sheepishly, feeling guilty for having not been easier to locate but that he could not control.
"I'm glad you've been well. And excuse my absence, I tend to keep on my hooves as often as I can, traveling being one of my passions," Cavan explained. His large ears pulled forward, wanting to hear more of her sweet voice as he shifted his weight onto his left side. Blinking those large teal eyes, he studied the young hind. She was gorgeous, he could not nor would he dare to ignore this fact.

After whispering something with a smile into the furry rabbit's ear at her side, Nariel turned her complete attention back to the handsome stag. She giggled lightly at his sheepish smile and tilted her head in understanding. "I know - it's no worry, Cavan."
Bright azul eyes glanced over him and then she looked down at the lapine that was still situated near her back hoof. She then suddenly looked back at Cavan. "Would you like to walk?" she asked with a smile and eagerness in her voice. "You can tell me what you've seen on your travels? I haven't personally been going around much."

"Certainly," he answered brightly. Turning smoothly, he twisted to stand directly beside her; not in front nor behind, but instead equally at her pace and made sure to even lessen his stride to matcher her own. Those pink inward ears swiveled in every direction, constantly vigilant now looking after not only himself, but the beautiful hind and her friend at her heels. If only he could speak with the rabbit; his silence to the creature felt rather rude of him.
"Hmm...well I have traveled quite a ways and I do have a few stories," he commented, finding the silence awkward, " I ran into the Firebringer herd territory a few weeks back during Anlach of all times. I ran into another hind, whom was kind but didn't have the best sense of direction. I was about to escort her back to her herd as far as I could go when an Outrider stopped us in the field. The most interesting part of it was that it turned out the stag was in fact the new head of herd. I was lucky enough to be allowed exit of the lands as long as I immediately left."
His eyes never left Nariel. "Have you met anyone recently?"

Nariel just kinda of stared at him for a minute or two, his question going through one ear and out the other while his story continuously rattled up and down in her head. "You met who?" she asked allowed, pure surprise printed on her face and in her eyes.
She casted a quick glance over his body and then suddenly switched up her footing and circled him quickly. "He didn't hurt you, did he?" her question was fast, but held a deep sincere worry. She had never met the lord of the Firebringer herd - nor did she know anything about him - but she knew that some lords weren't so forgiving to rogues that stumble onto their territory.

He watched her carefully before giving a sheepish grin while she circled him. "Oh no, he was quite understanding. Brychan was forceful with words and I wasn't ambicious enough to challenge his authority so he never had to use force to move me away from the territory," he answered her gently, not wanting to ever be the cause of her worry. At least he understood her care for him which caused him to smile fondly at the sweet hind.
To be honest, he liked the view of the female he was getting as she inspected him. Her beautiful white spotted pelt was amazing and soft appearing. And her blue eye only exemplified her emotions more in their blue topaz sparkle.

Nariel nodded her slender head, and didn't return to his side until she was absolutely sure that he was OK -- despite his reassurance. She hadn't noticed his watching her, being a rather non observational hind when matters caused her to worry... which in the long run probably wasn't a very good characteristic.
A moment of silence passed as they walked before blue eyes were on the stag once more. "You'resureyou'renothurt?" Her question was spoken so suddenly and rapidly that the words sounded more like mindless babble, and before it was even possible to perhaps figure them out, she spoke again, "I'm sorry... I'm becoming something of a nuisance, aren't I?"

He could understand her sentence even if it was run together swiftly, but even so he appreciated her concern. It thrilled him to know that someone cared enough about his well being as to want to check him continuously to ensure he was alright. He wanted to do the same for her. "A nuisance? Not at all. I appreciate it actually. But I do assure you, I am alright Nariel," he said with a sweet tone as they sauntered forward.
"I just hope you're fairing well. Your wellbeing is very important to me," he commented, unaware of how open that statement was or what it meant for the pair. He was just being honest. Absentminded sure, but his honesty wasn't a hindrance usually.

Nariel had opened her mouth to speak, but his last comment made her close it. She gave a smile and nodded her head, the subject -- for now -- dropped. For a second she wondered how much did he care about her, but a small sensation at her back leg made her mentally shake away that topic.
"I'm doing alright," she said with another smile on her face before she looked back at the gray lapin that was still following her dutifully. The rabbit only looked back and continued hopping along, if not a little slower than earlier.

He heard her reply and nodded thoroughly glad she was faring well out on her own. There had been times during his own wanderings that he was curious as to how well she was doing, and always hoped that her strength and will was high. The wilds were cruel, that was true, but he was sure that Nariel could beat it. Of course, that didn't mean he didn't want to be there to protect her...in fact he very much was willing to do whatever he could for the lovely hind.
He noticed her eyes had traveled to the rabbit as well as his and realized he had almost completely ignored their guest. Sure he couldn't understand it nor could it understand him, but that didn't mean it was appropriate to just ignore the little creature. "How did you come to meet Aerlinniel, Nariel?" he asked curiously.

An ear swiveled around to catch the question and a smile of the softest kind spread on her muzzle.
"She's always been with me; since the day I was born," she said as she lifted her head and looked at him. Her head canted slightly in a reminiscent sort of way before she decided to go into some detail.
"She was a companion of my mother, and so she acted like... like a nanny of sorts for her fawns and calves until they were old enough and such. When I left, she came -- I was just a fawn myself when that happened."

Listening to her intently, he glanced down at various intervals to look to the old rabbit with interest twinkling in his eyes. He had never heard anything like it. But of course he had not grown around or accustomed to the works of Speakers, so it didn't seem so unnatural for a companion to be passed from one generation to another. He smiled slightly as he looked back up to Nariel.
"That's impressive," Cavan started before continuing on, "But I noticed you said she followed you when you left...as a fawn? You ventured out into the wilds on your own so young?" Or was he mistaken? All the same, he was intrigued with the hind's life and wanted to learn more about her and as much as he possibly could.
