Would anyone be interested in an amigurumi crochet and/or knit along to begin in December (or sooner if you like) and finish by Christmas? I am going to be making one for a Christmas gift and thought it might be fun to do as our first CAL/KAL since so many seem to love amigurumi and they are nice and small. We could post frequent pictures of our progress. I've never participated in an -along before so it would be fun. Anyone with me? (If not, you will still have to look at pictures of mine, bwah hah ha!)

Yes, pleeeeeeeeease. I've never done Amigurumi before, so I may need some help though. Starting anytime would be fine for me.

Cool! How about we start next week? That will get us past Thanksgiving and give plenty of time for everyone to decide if they want to participate and choose a pattern/idea. And of course if you want to join in later you can but let's all try to have our finished amigurumi by Christmas!
Don't worry, they are not hard. I will try to answer any questions you might have. Now I have to start thinking of what I want to make...

Cool, I'm in then since I should be done with my xmas stocking by then. My crocheting skills are a little rusty so I'll have to break out the old needles before then. Whoo hoo!

@ hana-chan: There should be a couple of links to ami patterns in the sticky thread called "Crochet Resources". Also look at the Crochet Pattern Central animal section. Or if you have an animal in mind PM me and I'll see if I have a link to it. I have saved tons. @ Firrerreo: You could knit it if you would rather do that. I think this first one should be open to both knit and crochet so we get the most participation. How is your stocking coming along? I thought about making my son one but I have too much started already!

Sounds really fun! I love amigurumi. I got some new yarn recently too so it's perfect timing.

I'm definitely interested. ^__^ I've actually never taken part in a craft-along before, but it sounds like fun.The last smile wavered, and disappears, And the warmth is all that's left.

Yay! Looks like we are going to have some good participation! I still have no idea what I'm going to make.
edit: I have a an idea now, just have to make sure I have the right colors... I'm excited! But I can't find a pattern so I will be making this one up.

How is your stocking coming along? I thought about making my son one but I have too much started already! I just finished it last night, and since i made it on big needles, it really didn't take all that long. heart Can't find the camera charger tho for pics at the moment. Most of it came out fine, but I misjudged the decreases around the toe area so now it's a little square. Oh well, hold more presents. Heh, perhaps I shall knit this one then until I start up the ol' crocheting again. Gotta figure out what to do now!

cool, can't wait to see it. a squarish stocking sounds a lot easier to stuff with presents anyway, lol.

Here is a chihuahua pattern that's pretty cute... it's one of my many unfinished projects (and it could probably be altered to look like another breed of dog if you wanted to): Chihuahua Pattern
Tiny Striped Turtle
Penguin
These are the ones that I was able to find. Hope it helped. The last smile wavered, and disappears, And the warmth is all that's left.
