Seeing how I drive an 05 Scion xA. Speed isn't an option, so I went for the more show look and do shows around the country. I have done some engine work, but nothing too insane. The whole exhaust is complete: intake, header, mid pipe, and cat back. Lowering springs on it to make it look more clean, and a front upper strut bar to take away some more body roll. Everything else is for show purposes: underbody lighting, rims, suede interior, and system (which is still in the process). This is the crew I roll with: Headliner pic, its almost complete now: And this is Gidget:

I love the xA, and the MR2, nice cars everyone! Who says an xA can't be fast? I bet you could get the 2.4 from a tC into it. Seeing as how I got the more more realistic pics in my project thread (Please read it and post comments, I love attention!) I'll put some of my more artsy shots here. Don't mind the grainy texture, I think it looks cool. I shot these around midnight when there was a lot of fog out. Yeah, when it comes to my car, I'm a pic whore, too. The car is a 1991 Honda Civic STD. Comes with power nothing. No power windows, only one side-view mirror, no power steering, no tachometer, vinyl interior, a 70HP 1.5 liter engine, and a 4-speed manual transmission. In other words, it's the perfect lightweight project car.

Have you ever seen the engine bay of an xA??? lol It is insanely small.
We had a hard enough time adding the intake into the engine bay. lol

it can be done, but its a pain in the a**, the 2.4 mounts are completely different. nice XA, cleanest one I've seen,I'm doing little exterior work, i'm not a fan of show cars, yet I'm good with the work, working on a custom spoiler right now mrgreen . I'm going for speed, idc that i have a 1ZZ-FE,I've seen a 1ZZ-FE Corolla LE with 387HP. every car has potential. right now my car hits 60 in 10.43 secs, all stock.
Oh. . .Rabi. . .dood, your outnumbered 2 toyotas and a off brand of toyota, and you break in in your civic, you know what that means. . . .go get yo self a toyota, you see my sig? yea, thats right.

Eh, so maybe it's not easy, still, if you want to make it fast, it can be done. You'll just have to do some research.
PS The fact that I'm the only one here with a Honda is only further proof that I'm better than you guys.

I guess if I really wanted to dump the money into it to make it fast I could. But on the other hand, I could of bought a fast car to begin with. lol
I love doing shows. I love seeing what crazy things people do to their cars. Its exciting to me. Took my car to the track once, with all my "engine mods" and I did alright. Did the 1/4 mile in about 16s. Not bad for a 1.4L 4 cylinder if you ask me. lol And its Auto sad Thats one thing I want to do for sure. I want a manual. But that would be a pain to do as well...

The Honda thing was a joke.
And yeah, Techick, if performance upgrades aren't your thing, then you shouldn't do them. Just don't think your car can't be fast. Any car can be fast if you're willing to put some time and money into it. I'd save up the money for a manual transmission swap if you really want one. It befuddles me why people who like driving would buy an auto anyway. I refuse to buy one, no matter what kind of deal I'd be getting on it.

But that would be a pain to do as well... everything takes money, but to me its more worth it to make it faster but thats just my 2 cents. I was originally going for another Rear wheel drive, but ended up with wrong wheel drive. i think it was a S13 coverted 240. Car shows are cool, some people like to keep it clean like you, some are nuts and over do the whole customizing thing. many are in it for the awards and prize money, come to think of it, my teacher decided on my paint scheme, so I'm working on a 40th ann. mustang GT. midnight blue mustang, black tribal flames, white fading outlines, with ghost effect skulls. Lots-o-pressure. its goning into the world of wheels in the superdome. Not bad, i run high 14s, aside from your car being a 1.4l, its also lighter. i think our cars gear boxes are electronically controlled, i know mine is, I dont require any power from the engine to shift, and since autos shift faster than standards, you may have an advantage, most drag racers these days run autos, about 99.9% of them. I can outrun a manual S, and its driven by my friend who goes dragging a lot. We can get 6spds for our cars.
