Music is my hot hot sex
What's your favorite genre of music? Your favorite band? Album? Song? Are you partial to rock, or rap, or country, or J rock, or...uh, screw it, you get the gist. Or are you an iPod jockey who listens to a little of everything?
I like a lot of stuff. My iPod is filled with everything from System of a Down to Red Hot Chili Peppers to Will Smith to Elvis freaking Presley. But there seems to be a pattern. I noticed there's a lot of alt. metal and old skewl thrashy punk stuff, along with hits of the 1980's and all of that indie folk stuff that frequents shows on NBC. Oh! There's also some techo and trance. 3nodding Right now my current obsession is Serj Tankian. (The creepy smiling guy in my sig.)
DISCUSS PLZ. -Above formentioned questions. -Do you find yourself wanting to listen to a band after you've heard their song on a commercial or in a video game soundtrack? -Do you play an instrument? -Anything else related to music.
*sits and waits for Winter Equinox to arrive and have musical spaz out*
My music is where I'd like you to touch

Did you miss me? whee
I am partial to music from the 90's myself,it's very angsty. My bands (I'll limit them as much as possible): -Green Day -My Chemical Romance -Evanescence -Foo Fighters -Red Hot Chili Peppers -Alien Ant Farm -pearl Jam -Pink Floyd -Black Sabbath -Beastie Boys -Slipknot -Everclear -Flyleaf -Smashing Pumpkins -Blondie -System of a Down -All-American Rejects
of course I am a musician myself, I am a violinist and enjoy a bit of classical here and there and some showtunes from movies and Broadway.
I have to say my favorite album is.........I have a lot so I'll go with my top 3: 1.Green Day Insomniac: this album is my number one because it's very punk and in your face kind of music. It's Green Day's second album, so their material is better and there are songs like "Brain Stew" that have me rockin' all night!
2.Linkin Park Reanimation: this album is basiclly a re-mix of Hybrid theory (a good album as well) but there are different artist adding their musical opinion to Linkin Park's songs. Some of them sound better on this album, like "Points of Authority", the music video to that song was awesome! songs have a lot more thrill and edge on this album
3.Radiohead Ok Computer: This album is their second or third album and the material on here is good. A bit of nastalgia and edge, and bit of dream here and there. This album is like a soundtrack to life kinda thing.
Bands I absolutely could live without: -Fall Out Boy: In a nutshell they try to act all punk and crap, when they're like the obnoxious kid in the classroom who'd laugh at any crude joke. They're a joke to the music industry. But hey whatever floats your boat. -Rhiana:Her music gets on my feakin' nerves stressed I hear it everywhere....what's so great about it?it sounds like every other shitty pop song out there. -Cobra Starship: See Fall Out Boy -Boys Like Girls: Who gave this band guitars and mics? They have no idea what it means to be a band...or the concept of music. It's just a bunch of chords and words thrown together...."Hmm,let's call it music!" Sorry....no. stare
Music Video's for Your Pleasure: -Nirvana "Come As You Are": I love the song and I love the video. It's great when you're favorite song by a band can be put to something you can see. -Beastie Boys "Intergalactic Planetary": Heh heh heh, these boys are crazy with the music videos! In this one basiclly a giant robot is on a rampage.....and the Boys. xd the song is kinda nonsense-ish...but it's great anyway. -My Chemical Romance "I'm Not Okay": For the teenager in us that has died, this ones for you. The terrors ofhigh school and the thirst for revenge begins. Plus, revealing truths about your teachers behind closed doors
Movie Magic Music: -Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory: The ORIGINAL one (sorry Tim...but your version kinda stank,But I still love ya!) -Nightmare before Christmas: Danny Elfman-genius 'nuff said 3nodding -Harry Potter series: great orchestration.....very moody and fits each scene like a glove ^_^
And now back to Dustmop mrgreen

Of course, m'dear, it wouldn't be a music thread without your lovely comentary. :3 All of those bands on your list are kick a**, minus the few I haven't listened to yet.
Haha, the only songs I sort of like by Fall Out Boy are Sugar We're Going Down, and the original Dance Dance that has a rawer sound and is slightly extended. Otherwise, they're pretty annoying. Ew, and Boys Like Girls is crap. I hate "The Great Escape".
I like the Red Hot Chili Peppers' video for Dani California, that and the one for By the Way, where he gets kidnapped by the taxi driver. And of course, Serj Tankian's Empty Walls is the most epic epicness ever.
=P This is like my Uppers track list, everytime I here these songs I start dancing. (Quite horribly, I may add.) I Don't Feel Like Dancing by the Scissor Sisters Somebody Told Me by the Killers By the Way, Dani California and Tell Me Baby by Red Hot Chili Peppers I-E-A-I-A-I-O and Violent Pornography by SOAD Play That Funky Music White Boy by White Cherry How Far We've Come by Matchbox Twenty Hunk of Burning Love by Elvis Presley Been Caught Stealing and Stop by Jane's Addiction I Want You by Savage Garden
There are also a lot of other songs I can always listen to but there are way too many to list. sweatdrop I wish I could play like you can. The best I can do is Beethoven's "Fuer Elise" but I can't play the left handed parts very well. And the right handed part of "Greensleeves". So basically all of the bass clef parts aren't played, if I'm not mistaken.

mrgreen Why thank you m'dear!
Matchbox 20 is crazy cool! I like "Unwell","Push","3 AM". The music video for "Question" by System of a Down is really awesome, it's like an opera.
DDR music is great for dancing, hence it's in a dancing video.J'pop and J'techno is really addicting. Yoiu may not like a band sometimes they're really good songs to dance too mrgreen
But the best stuff to dance to is anything from Smash Mouth. Really good stuff there mrgreen

"Unwell" is great. I'm going to go watch the Question video, I've never seen it.
DDR is so fun. I wanna go to the movie theater and play it now.
OMG Smash Mouth! I'm getting nostalgic. I wonder if I still have my NOW 5 CD... Smash Mouth makes me think of Shrek (I'm a Believer) which in turn makes me think of the Monkees, and the Monkees make me think of the Beatles. And then I start belting out Hey Jude.

Haha, "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey! My friend and I used to sing that all the time in the middle of class, because we told our other friend that we'd stand outside his window with a boom box playing that song until he "accepted our love". wink

Haha, "d**k in a Box" by Justin Timberlake. I hate him with a burning passion (the only thing he brought back was his dreaded 'fro) but that song made me laugh really hard. Otherwise, just the usual stuff.

Hey! Don't forget Sweden! *bursts into Caramell Dansen dance* And for regular techno rave stuff, there's Children of the Sandstorm (DJ Testio), that's always fun to dance to, even though the best part of the song is too short IMO.
Hm, I guess this would be regular J-Rock but I like The Pillows.

Movie quote time! "What did you want to be when you were young?" "When I was a kid, I wanted to be John Lennon."
I thought that was funny for some reason, maybe it was how he said it. sweatdrop
Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls is amazing too.
