I really Enjoy playing music one thing I want to point out and I want to know is that well Who here takes music serously and who just has fun with it?? Well I know that I like to have fun with muisc, Music is like an art that you should have fun with as well as being creative with it. Music is somthing that can be veiwed very seriously but I find that music that the more you have fun with it the more benificial the results of the song the better the song is and the longer you play your instrument.

I study music so I'm very serious about it, but performances are very fun and that's the main reason I'm involved with music. That's why I'm not studying something boring like accounting or something like that. So to answer your initial question I have a lot of fun but I am very serious with music because it is my life.

I'm a bit of both, perhaps.
I mean, on one side of this topic, I most certainly listen and play music for fun. It's just a fun thing to do. Music is one of the highest forms of self-expression, therefore it's just fun to play and feel along with others; it's a great way to connect with people and make friends. Isn't that why we're all here??
But on the opposite side of the spectrum, I've learned my share of music theory, so I too take great pride in the serious part of music. Without serious musicians, we wouldn't have some of the greatest bands forming..
But then here's the twist: You get musicians like Jimi Hendrix who comes up with these amazing songs and techniques while he's drugged up, yet we look onto him as one of the most influential musicians to date.
So couldn't we have a balance of both loving music for fun, yet also respecting it for it's seriousness??

I think taking music seriously allows me to have more fun with it. I'm around musicians all day that don't take it seriously and they hate playing music.
