Guidelines for Posting Model InstructionsThose interested in writing instructional threads should also check out the
Wanted Models thread to see what models other guild members want to see.
1. Please only post instructions for models that you yourself have folded. If any of us have any questions about the instructions, we'll be looking to you for answers!
2. Please check the existing threads in the guild to make sure that your model hasn't been covered already. We don't need a million paper crane threads running around, do we?
3. We would prefer if you didn't post scans of pages from origami books - this helps us avoid any copyright infringement issues. However, you are welcome to take pictures of you folding a model from a certain book to use as diagrams instead. Instructions found on the internet are also fair game.
4. To help keep instructional threads separate from other threads, please begin the title of your thread with "[Model]" and end it with the difficulty level from 1 to 5 in parentheses. For example: [Model] Crane (2).
5. To help us keep things organized, please use this format when posting instructional threads:
Model Name
[Picture of model goes here]
Difficulty: (On a scale of 1 to 5, how hard is it? 1 = easiest, 5 = hardest)
Paper Type: (What shape should it be? Does thick or thin paper work better?)
Sheets: (The number of sheets of paper required.)
Cuts/Glue: (Does your model involve any cutting or gluing?)
Time: (About how long should this take?)
Source: (Where did you learn how to make this? Name a book, website, etc.)
Instructions:
(Instructions for folding the model go here.)
Here's an example of what it should look like:
