So, I got sick recently and my doctor put me on antibiotics. I'm also on the pill, so was warned the antibiotics could effect how effective the birth control properties of the pill is. I was prepared to deal with that, however the antibiotics also seem to have completely disabled the pill, causing my body to go through withdraw and giving me my period a week early! gonk
Has anyone else ever had this problem?

I've never had that happen - fortunately I've been in relatively good health since starting on my BC - but I know that this isn't an uncommon experience.
Antibiotics do lots of good things (like killing the bad things making you sick) but they can also do some bad things if you are on other medications. Once you're off of the antibiotics your period should go back to normal, and I don't think it's too much to worry about. The withdrawals suck, though, and I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this sad
