Hi. I'm an Old Timer, and feeling way too old for most of Gaia. I hit 30 June 2nd. The main forum I posted in was the Comics Discussion Forum for the Western Comics industry. Most regs were 20-somethings with the occasional reg that was as old or older. Over the 4 years I've been on Gaia (joined September '03 when I saw the ad in Udon's Street Fighter #1) the forum has slowly been overrun by idiots and morons so us oldie regs stick to contact off forums or in our guild. Doesn't leave for much to do on Gaia. Not much that interests me or I have time for anyway.

I'm divorced and have 2 kids. Live in UUUuuuupstate NY close to the Canadian border over in the city of Rochester. Moving back to the NYC area early next year. I listen to music way more than is normal, possibly more than healthy, and plan on trying to learn drums or keyboards when I move. I like my rum too much, my friends associate me with pirates and snark. Other than the green hair the av looks like me in costume. I miss my green hair. Part of growing old. Ah well.

I'm not at all surprised when I meet 30+ gaians. Once upon a time, online forums were supported by a community of adults, back when I was a lurking teen. Key work, lurking... like more should. We would have less 'liek omgz' moments and the world would be a tad nicer.

I empathize, I really do. It's hard as hell to find much to do on here some days and the main forums are overrun beyond repair.

Welcome to the Guild. Hope you find a few threads here and there that fit your interests.

I hit 30 yesterday, but have yet to deal with divorce and/or kids and I hope I never have to, no offense.

This must make us the ancients around these parts.

No offense taken. No one ever wants to deal with divorce. Some people just aren't suited to having children. Better to acknowledge that then have kids because it's expected of you. I have one friend that tells me all the time he never wants to have either because he knows he doesn't have the patience for it and thinks he'd be a bad father. Which I make a point of telling him I agree with. wink
