I thought I should post this for al of you to see It's the trailer for the new Macross series set to hit Japan next year. It's set around 30 years after Macross 7 (not entirely confirmed), takes place on a colony fleet, and stars the VF-25 as the main mecha.
I'm enjoying the series a lot so far (despite animation quality being painfully inconsistent), though I'm concerned as to how it will turn out overall. There's a lot of great buildup, but if it's a standard 26-ep series like we've been lead to believe, there may not be enough time to fully explore all of the series' potential.

it's an awesome show. it feels like a remake of the original macross/robotech.
the blue one is my favorite.

I wouldn't say it feels anything like a remake, honestly. It just feels like a real continuation/expansion of the original Macross, with a LOT of homages and not nearly as much genre experimentation as Plus/7/Zero did.
The VF-25 Messiah is very much a successor to the VF-1 though, to the point that it almost feels like it *could* be a redesign. Kawamori himself said it's design is like a slimmer VF-1 with transformation systems derived from the VF-19's design.
