Vampires have been hot long before Edward Cullen.

Don't get me wrong I like Twilight. (I really like Twilight. Enough to have my grad gift last summer be a trip to Forks and La Push. Which is far out of the way since I live in Phoenix. )

However I was interested in vampires before Twilight. I wrote a vampire romance book before I read Twilight. (in the process of trying to get an agent for that).

Anyway, what appeals to you about vampire romance. (oh and can I just say using that word in a query letter is so awkward. I hate Query letters, because the words love story, in love, fall in love ect used in conjunction with the word vampire never can sound good enough. Oh but enough about my head ache. At least the novels good)

So vampire romance, why do you like it. What is it about vampires?

Well there is the gorgeous factor, ever since Anne Rice (yes you should have heard of her) revolutionized the vampire genre by making vampires sentient, sensual, and oh so gorgeous, vampires have been a "hot" topic.

For me I like vampires because as a writer, having vampires in my story allowed me to explore different themes and conflicts. Morality, and sexuality being two. Also the somewhat darker aspects of human nature, and our consumer culture in America today.

So why do you like vampires, why are they such a good love interest?
