By far, the best way to buy items for reselling is in the Exchange: Wanted Section of the Gaian Exchange. Earlier today, I got some amazing deals simply posting "BUYING WITH 100k!" Some of them include plasma gear for 8k (more then a 5k profit) and a Jan 07 letter for only 15k (4.5k under MP's lowest). People go into that area expected to have to sell under price, so it's okay if you haggle and be firm in not wanting a 'fair' deal. Make it obvious you're there for a profit, and seriously people will walk right up to you with amazing deals if you're patient enough to bump five or six times. Hope that helps you all smile

Okay, well, while this may be the best place to buy items at low prices without competing with as many other buyers, you can still get deals in the marketplace. Also, I noticed that at night as the population of Gaia drops, so does the ability to find good deals.
The reason I bring this up is because as I tried buying more items from the Exchange (I got some great deals, but I still had more cash to blow to get even more of them) people simply stopped responding and I had to give up or grow infinitely bored.
That's why I always say, buy in the day and sell at night (though of course I sell all day too). It's hard to find any good deals at night time, so you sell your items then and other desperate players are more willing to buy them. Likewise, don't buy at night unless you're sure it's a deal, because the worst prices show up overnight.
Right now, there are 29,141 Gaians online, and in the daytime that number gets over 100,000, so keep that in mind when using the MP and the Exchange.

I will remember that. I am in the exchange right now, spending 300k.
But no one has offered anything good except this one guy. Bani clips for 220k. And the lowest price is 230 in the marketplace.

There aren't as many people on right now as there will be later.
Also, I've noticed, it's kinda hard to buy up to all your money in the Exchange. I went in there with 100k and, even though I was buying stuff, my items were selling just as quickly in the MP and I couldn't run out! lol
It's worth the effort, though. The exchange is rich in people who want to sell their items fast

PheonixFire101 I have a question if I make a 1-2k profit per buy and sell is that low or high???? 1k profit is about the lowest you should be aiming for. Anything lower then that and you wonder if it's worth the buying and selling. However, even if you're only making 500g per buy/sell, that's a lot quicker then you'll be making gold fishing, so you can always look at it that way. It depends on the value of the items, mostly, as well as how cheaply you got them. That's why I was advising buying in the exchange- the best deals are easiest to get there, and you can haggle people down in prices so you -know- at least 2k profits are gained. Also, the more expensive the item you buy (usually), the more you can gain from selling it. I made 15k off a sell for my Wind Security Blanket, worth 110k, by buying it at 100k and selling it at 117k (some tax cut my profits)

Damion Asmodai I live in the states, California to be exact Pennsylvania for me. smile I have family out there, though, and lived there for a few months once (I hate the weather in CA. when it rains, it DROWNS THINGS). I guess that accounts for the time difference a bit.

In fact, I live in Fresno, and it's a desert. It's rained once this entire year, but since we're nearing winter it may rain again soon

ALL DAY. And the next day the yard was dry again.
Then again, Pittsburgh doesn't really make up it's mind on weather very well either... It skipped fall this year.
