In the good old days; the bank-robbing vagabond chasing days, there were as many clasifications of super heroes as there were snakes or spiders. And like the sometimes feared creatures, each of these clasifications was effective in the feild. Sufice to say, there weren't many of any clasification left, but the transporters seemed to disappear from the face of the planet entirely. Memories of phsychic teleporters (and even the ocasional gadget user with technological devices of instant travel) surfaced in Raptor's mind as she clanked along in what, despite mismatching sheets of metal covering, must have been a jeep underneath. The sun beat down upon the whole desert landscape, though the surviving defender of justice didn't seem to mind the heat. Smoke billowed behind the vehicle, partially from a lit cigarette clamped tightly between her two fingers, but otherwise it came from the shody heap of vehicle. She was somewhere south of the former U.S. border and a few days ride from 'home' as she so loosely called it. And only a few days away because of the car she was driving.
Putputput! The car bounced on non existant hydrolics, taking Raptor by surprise and causing her to stop the car entirely. That putput noise had been a sign of low fuel. Unfortunately, as the meters on the dashboard were broken, it had been her only sign of the occurance thus far. She heaved a sigh and set the half-finnished cigarette to the corner of her lips and hopped over the driver side door, landing on the dry earth with a dusty thud. "Perfect," she mumbled to herself.

The scent was fresh, the sensation of metahuman he'd grown accustomed to during the old days of the hunt flared in Nagaharu's sixth sense, showing him the path on which they were treading. The canyons covering the area made it easy to sneak around unseen and, hopefully, unnoticed, though even he had no idea how many of the psychic variety of Hero there were left in the world.
Finally, out in the distance, his prey was located. A putter of a car, out of fuel, in the middle of the desert. How very unlucky.
"Having car trouble?" he asked as he suddenly appeared on top of her car, laying down on his side in a nonchalant manner.
((Sorry about the wait, got caught up in something.))

Raptor kicked her boot against the front bumper of the jeep at the sudden arrival, allowing her to launch back a decent eight to ten feet. It was a bit of a reflex reaction of hers to show her unusually sharp teeth and hiss in a way that echoed up from her chest. She restrained herself quickly in an attempt to separate herself from the animal that tended to show itself in moments of surprize. She stood in a defensive position, clearly staring intently at the man, though her mirrored shades hid that fact entirely. The mask had spoken for his identity, though she had never had the privelage of seeing him in real life before. "You are a long way from your master," she responded, "Has he let you off of your little leash?"

Nagaharu chuckled lightly as he stood and replied, "You've got quite a mouth for someone who's been hiding from me. Buried underground in the dirt as though forshadowing your own death. It's really quite ironic. By the way, I have something to show you." Reaching to the back of his belt, he drew out a small draw string bag and tossed it to the ground in front of her, the contents spilling out into the dirt. The emblems of all the Heros he killed, counting nearly 50, maybe even 60 in number. "My torphy collection. Do you like it? As I see it, I have only a few more until it's complete."

"Hiding....from 'you'?" she chuckled, though her espression sank as he spilled the contents of the bag before her. She dare not look on too long, for she had recognized most of them upon first glance. t would not help her situation to get too heated and lash out without reasoning. She tilted her chin up and took a step back, still on her toes, but not wanting to look as though she had been backed into a corner.

He grinned as her expression sank from seeing the contents of the bag, though it couldn't be seen with his mask on. Just the facless vision of a man who intended for her to die. As she took a step back, a voice from behind her suddenly said, "What's wrong? Have you lost your nerve already?" The man in front of her slowly faded away into empty air as the short-lived illusion faded.

She pivoted on one foot and shot the other foot full force for his jaw. She hadn't fought the famed slayer before, but she was detirmined to avoid being taken by surprise again. (I'm betting most scenes like this will have short posts. Its all good.)

Bending backwards to avoid the kick to his face, Nagaharu planted his hands on the ground and kicked upwards at the foot aimed for his jaw, intending to overextend it and flip her onto her back.

His foot met with hers and she shifted to fall flat onto her back and roll backwards. She rolled twice and found her footing, then shifted her weight forward and lunged for his middle, fist at the ready. She aimed for his gut.

His hand immediately pushed to the side, grabbing her wrist as he redirected her attack, spinning around at the same time to bring the back of his elbow to her face, aiming to break her nose.

She leaned back and tilted her head in time to avoide the blow, though just barely. She shifted to fall on her side and kicked one leg forward in an attempt to sweep his feet out from under him.

As his elbow met only air, he felt his legs being kicked out from under him, forcing him to the ground. With one hand still viced around her wrist, he pulled her to the ground him and twisted his body until he was on top of her with her arm wrenched behind her back. "Is this all you're capable of? Simple little attacks that even a child could outmaneuver? If you're not going to provide me with decent sport, I may as well kill you right now." he said, raising his hand up. With a flick of his wrist, a small knife was extracted from his forearm guard, ready to stab her through the back of the neck.

Somewhere in the process of being pinned, her shades had been jostled off of her nose, revealing the slight scaling and slitted pupils of her eyes. The anger building in her expression was increasingly apparent as she tensed her muscles, but did not strugle. "Hunting me like a damn animal, you sick b*****d... It should only be appropriate that I fight back like one," she growled in a voice that mixed in with a sound simaler to her previous hiss. She shot her free hand out to grab the wrist of his knife hand, at the same time jutting her neck and head forward to sink her fine, sharp teeth into a small space of exposure on his neck. She clamped her jaw hard as she struggled to gain the upper hand, her strength growing with her unger.

((I'm off to bed. Night.))
The sharp sting of Raptor's fangs as they bit into Nagaharu's neck was immediately felt, enough that he couldn't hold back a grunt of pain before he kicked her off of him. Reaching up to dab at the wound, he looked at the blood she'd drawn and, after a moment, laughed with glee. "It's about time. You were starting to worry me." he said, rolling his shoulder to get the ache out of the wound before sliding himself into a stance, "Come on, don't stop now. You can't expect me to show off a trophy I didn't earn, do you?"

She stumbled back, but found her footing quickly. She was breathing hard from a struggle that seemed to be happening from within. "I would have neither of us die today, Nagaharu," she addressed him like an old aquaintance, "I'm sure you would hate to be rid of such prime sport."
