Well, a post in the "Let the Fire Fall" guild inspired me to ask this here. Do you think we should kind of, I dunno, preach in the forums and what not? I know a lot of people would be annoyed, but the Bible does teach us to spread the faith and what not. So, I was wondering about your opinions, and if you wanted to, PM me and we could set something up. I think it'd be better if 2-3 Gaians got together and started a thread, that way, when people came and asked questions, or rebuffed it, we could be each other up and stuff biggrin Just a thought, what do you think?

Hmm....that'd be a tad difficult to back each other up successfully, seeing as the denominations of Christianity have some very different view points over certain issues. Examples, Catholics don't allow women to be priests while Lutherans do, allowing priests to marry, etc. Another controversial issue that the hordes of agnostics and atheists could throw at us is the topic of evolution. Catholics say that evolution doesn't interfere with biblical teachings because God created man's soul in his image, according to the Catechism, but even then Catholics are divided on the evolution issue.
Preaching the gospel may or may not work on Gaia. But "where two or three are gathered in my name..." You get the idea. I have other obligations, so I'm out.

honestly, 'preaching' to people is the #1 way to turn someone off. it tells them "your religion is better than mine, so convert now!". definately not the approach you probably want to portray.
If you develop a relationship with the person or can be their friend first and then you two compare your views, it's more likely that someone will listen to what you have to say. it all comes down to respecting the other person and knowing that everyone is different. wink
So while you can go into the extended discussion forum and probably find at least 5 threads right away about faith/christianity/religion, it might be best to post in those first to get an understanding of the atmosphere and other peoples opinions. That way you know how to respond to them in the best way possible.
that's just my thought though, tkae it for what it's worth.

My idea is to start a charity from the guild that will function like any charity on gaia but will getting the name out there and will link everyone to the guild if they are interested in our beliefs.
Another idea is to have a bump for Christ thread in the chatterbox. Its purpose is to just start random conversations, but be a friendly place to talk about Christ. I'm probably going to outlaw debates, just to enforce that kind of environment.
The main problem I'm having so far is just getting enough motivation to get it all started, help and prayers will be much appreciated.

Those both really sound like great ideas biggrin It's a small thing, but I kind of had an idea of my own. Little does anyone know, I put 10 of my favorite Christian songs in the VJ, but the search engine is terrible (only finds tag words) so it can be hard to find for anyone... I think it reads 0 viewers now but that's because I added two new songs yesterday and the viewer count started over sweatdrop Watch it here

gOD SAYS TO LOVE THE lORD YOUR gOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND ALL YOUR SOUL...Even In Gaia land God exspects Us to do his work of preaching the Gospel today a fella asked Jesus to be Lord of his life in Gaia and I felt so happy..Use this Gaia as a evangelising tool do not be ashamed stand up for the Lord he needs soldiers I dont need to say this is bad and that is bad and try to convert you from your beliefs...But If you read the word you will see the truth as Gods Holy Spirit shows you things ..For instance in the Bible the big Giant Goliath is coming into the Isrealites camp..Davids Mentor and King..Kinda what a pastor is realy nowadays was even afraid and laughed at the thought of David fighting a Giant even his bravest man failed to do...They even offered David their Armor but it was tooo heavy David knew he would be defeated if he wore the armor...So he did what God showed him to do he grabbed 5 stones not because he would miss or was worried but because goliath had 4 more brothers...  Other religions pastors decons cardinals bishops ect sometimes tell you only what God showed them but the real picture is what is he showing YOU!! We know the truth because the Truth is the Light.....He does not live for us WE LIVE FOR HIM its not what we want but what he wants..
