This is the base of operations for Dr. Gracen Applewhite. It is comprised of both a military fortress and residential city. The city is made up of hard working indiviuals who have show great faith in Dr. Applewhite's vision and loyalty that is unquestioning. There is a heavy military presence as well as automated defense and monitoring systems. Daily announcements are given to the masses through an intercome to keep the masses feeling there masters presence.

The stronghold was established during the beginning of the takeover, built by the many devoties. All around the city are pro Applewhite and anti-hero propoganda haning on banners. The order is kept by a regular patrol of armed police that enforce the law with an iron fist and little forgivness. In this part of the new world, the slightest disastful statement about Dr. Applewhite can get someone arrests. Some who are arrestedm for any reason, do not return. Those that do, are often changed and much less willing to defie even the slightest code of ethics. Every day the fotress of the good doctor towers over the populace. For some it is a reassurance of his protection. For others, it I a symbol of hopelessness in resistance.

The fotress itself is a marvel of arcitecture and security, designed by Applewhite himself. It's basic outer walls are made of strong metal alloy.
The inside contains the primary information network and the barracks for Applewhites most elite units.

Dr. Applewhite sat at his desk in the epicenter of his stronghold. He tapped his fingers on the desk as the clock began to cross the numbers with it;s hands. The clock read 12. Time for another little sermin. He flicked the switch on the intercomm and leaned forward to speak.
" It is becoming more comment to hear or see reminders of the peope we once refered to as super heros. These people once stood as titan of the old world, protecting us from everpresent threats, but tell me frineds. What did they ever actually do. They allowed muderers to live in prisons, only to be freed later. Then squabbled amoungst themselve and let the world suffer. These 'super' heros, these "superior' heros, what did they actually do that was superior. Did we not accomplsh what they did, did we not succed where they failed. Tell me my freinds, what is so 'superoir about them" the good doctore clicked off the intercomm and sat content in his chair.

"A lovely speech, as always, Doctor. But, if you'll forgive my boldness, it felt a little forced." Nagaharu said from a shadowy corner of the office, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. "I read a book not too long ago by H.G. Wells. Have you heard of it? It's called 1984. Your regime actually reminded me quite a bit of it, save for the metahumans running around and all. That part Wells seemed to have left out." he said, pushing off from the wall and strolling over to stand infront of the large window behind the desk and look out at the rolling metropolis Applewhite had created.

Gracen wheeled his desk around as he crossed his legs. " I will forgive your boldness, Nagaharu as I realize the resemblence. However, while Mr. Well wrote of fantasy, I made a reality, and this will not end in hardly the same fashion, metahumans or no." Applewhite looked out the window and brought his hands together under his chin.

Raising an eyebrow, Nagaharu was about to say that 1984 ended with the dissentors being reprogrammed to follow Big Brother's regime, but decided against it. He knew better than to call out his leader for pretending to know what he was talking about. "Things have been quiet since the last Hero was killed. There's even been less dissidence with the citizens. Makes me wonder...." he said. Amazingly enough, he prayed that there were still Hero's left out there. He'd never know when his powers fully returned to him unless he had someone strong enough to test them against. A former emperor such as himself bowing down to a mere human like this, it sickened him in ways too foul to imagine. It was all he could do to keep from strangling Dr. Applewhite right here and now. But, no...he had to wait. Bide his time and let the opportune moment come. One of the few lessons he actually took from his youthful days spent in that monestary.

Applewhite turned back to his desk. " Do not misunderstand the situation. While we have eliminated the idea of heros by opening the peoples eyes to there uselessness, the interlopers who once carried that title are still unaccounted for. As long as they are in hiding things will proceed smoothly." He leaned forward in his chair and pressed a button. a holographic image came up showing several figures. " But there is always that chance."

Turning to look at the holographic image projected from the desk, Nagaharu replied, "If things proceed as planned, chances are they won't remain in hiding. At least, that's what I'm hoping for." So, the rumors were true, after all. The unaccounted for Heros from the clean up. The missing heads from his trophy room. It seemed there was fun to be had yet.

Applewhite nodded. " I am glad you are so anxious. It will take that kind of initiative to ensure that these few holdout do not stand long enough to casue any damage to my world order." He let the hologram continue in front of him. He looked into it with purpose, looking for something that might be amiss.

As Nagaharu stared at the hologram, something went off in his senses, something familiar that he'd been missing for a while. The scent of a new hunt. Another Hero had finally ventured out of hiding. Grinning with delight, he didn't even bother to bid the doctor farwell before he was off out the window to track them down before the scent went cold.

Dr. Applewhite stood up from his desk and looked out the window, lost in thought.
' Why do they persist in this futility. If they simply eccempted my noe world order there would be peice. But' no they have to have there prideful stubborness.'
He sighed and went back to his desk as he pressed the button on his desk again. Now a few design schemeatics raised up on the screen. 'If there is a resistance. I will show them the power of the people they had considered weak for so long.'

An unknown amount of time went by before the window slid open once more, Nagaharu climbing through, looking to be in a foul mood. "She got away from me." he said, his tone reeking of bitterness. His shoulder and neck were still aching from the wounds that had been inflicted there, wounds that were barely answered with a scratch and couple of bruises. "If you have no orders for me, I'll be in my quarters." he said, getting to his feet and waiting for Applewhite's response.

Applewhite hid a chuckle at Nagaharu's condition. While Nagaharu spoke of his falure he had acrually served to prove a point. 'The once heros are still a threat, however small.' he htought to himself. He looked up to him. "No, I have no orders for you, feel free to leave. Oh, and if you please, use the door from here on in."

Rolling his eyes at Applewhite's request, Nagaharu turned and headed for the door. Before he exited , though, he glanced over his shoulder and said, "I'll need whatever information you have on the surviving Heros if I'm to make any headway in dealing with them. Particularly the beast girl."

Applewhite put his hand inot his desk and pulled out a very small card. He placed it into the base of his desk and pressed a few buttons. A small loading screen came up as several faces and lists ran across the screen. it blinked and the card retracted. Applewhite placed the tiny card on his desk. " This is all the relevant information on every registered hero. There current status either living or dead is displayed. You can work out who this 'beast girl' is for yourself. Just remember, not every hero was registered."

With a flick of Nagaharu's wrist, the disk sailed through the air into his hand. He give it a look over and pocketed it before leaving the office into the hallway. I will find you, beast girl. And I'll mount your head in the city square for denying me my battle. Let them all see how I punish those who defy me. he thought to himself as he headed for his quarters. First he would rest, give himself a chance to heal and regain his composure. Then he would hunt.
