Oh boy do i have a lot to talk about. Ever since I got my promotion ... heh heh heh ... working is just a tad bit more fun then it used to be... so!!! I am a line manager. Job title is my job... pretty much i keep the lines down and get the customers to get their s**t and leave...
So am i wrong???
I'm closing out the registers at the Pro Desk, that's the desk where the "contractors" go cause they are "special" ... special ed... anyways...
I'm closing out and this guy comes up to me... and remind you... I'm closing line manager... i know everything that is happening with my front end, which is term for check out lanes...
he says "I just wanted to let you know... You only have reg. 1 and s.c.o. open" ... s.c.o. = self check out
I'm thinking... NO s**t!!!! but i say "I know i'm sorry"
he says "Your forcing us to use self check out"
ok so.. ha ha ha! i'm already tired... i had no breaks and a half hour lunch... which i was supposed to get an hour but i didn't because there was no coverage...
i said... "sir, i'm not forcing you to use self check out"
he says "YES YOU ARE" ... (at this point he is now yelling) "this is HORRIBLE customer service... blah blah blah"
i said "Sir... if i wanted to "force" you to use self check out i would close reg. 1"
He said "Don't get smart a** with me"
Now i'm pissed... i told him... "i'm sorry... its not my fault my cashiers call in sick, its not my fault they fire all my crew and don't replace them, i'm sorry i have no back ups... and i'm sorry you have to wait but my cashiers work hard at everything they do so be patient!"
he says "you guys use the same excuse all the time i'm tired of it... get more people on a register now"
oh hell no!!!! i'm so pissed at this moment.. that... heh heh... i gave he choices... i said "sir... you have 3 choices not... you could either one! wait in line at reg. 1 ... 2 ... go wait at s.c.o. or 3 go to LOWE's!!!"
and you know what the sad part was... he was buying a ******** BAG of CHIPS!!!! and a bottle of SODA!!!! are you SERIOUS!!!

OMG HAHAHA Bag of chips. You should have smacked him. That is a winner.
I wish I could tell people off like that at work. Go you for telling him off.
Bag of chips at Home Depot. Excellent. Was he perhaps drunk?

Some customers are really stupid. I supervise card dealers in a casino, and you should see the people I get to deal with. One nice thing is, they really want to be there, and they know that I can kick them out.

I have seen some winning examples of peoples horrible behavior and attitudes. Like someone said in a different post, whoever coined the phrase "the customer is always right" should be shot in the head. (Not really)
People use that excuse FAR too much to get their way in situations they know are ridiculous. I worked at a grocery store for awhile and have seen every walk of life.
I worked at the customer service counter and people would complain about everything.

It's basicly just a gimme gimme phrase repackaged. "Oh, I'll get away with this because they need my buisness". Yaknow what, we really don't, especially if you are making a scene, chasing out customers who are probably actually there to buy something.
The customer who thinks they are always right is always wrong. Funny little thing about that.

If you complain hard enough and for long enough, eventually you will get something just to shut you up.

My friend worked at Best BUys and people would go to him saying how every thing is cheaper at Wal Mart and how they demand a magic price down. They can get it, if they bring in an ad of Wal Mart with the item in it and the price. If they don't have that, they are crap out of luck. Why is this story similar to the first one? Because my friend got so annoyed it got to the point of "Why don't you just go to Wal-Mart then?" That sucks someone went to you to b***h about the lack of cashiers. I know I get a little impatient, but I don't take it out on any one. And if it's too busy for my liking I choose to leave and come abck another day, or just bite my lip and be patient. Not like there is any other choices.

SenshuuIruka Because my friend got so annoyed it got to the point of "Why don't you just go to Wal-Mart then?" LOL I had a manager do pretty much the same thing with a woman complaining over our return policy not being a nice as Nordstroms. She wasn't actually returning anything ATM. She just was irritated when we explained the policy after she asked. D: It was glorious.

I love when people threaten not to come back. Okay, look ma'am. You come in and yell at us every day. You return everything you buy. You only buy sale items. We actually LOSE money through manpower hours catering to you. if I could, I would permanently ban you from the store myself. So stuff it.
Note, this is in reference to an actual person. I cannot say this to them in person so I am saying it here. X3
