I'm watching this thing on the BBC, and it's about couples that got married, and then years later the husband came out as gay. They first interview I saw, this woman is talking about how her husband was abused by the people around him, all of their friends abandoned them, her family stopped talking to her, and the world as a whole just kind of left them to their own devices because he was gay and they wouldn't get a divorce. Then, at the end of the show, the same woman is talking about how the husband won againsts society, because he wouldn't leave his family.
This seems a little backwards to me, because she was talking about how they were outcasts and couldn't really make any kind of firendly relationship because they were between two cultures. It seems to me, when society says "You are no longer part of society," that society has won. Your toughts?
