I decided to do a little experiment with how much money I could make on the marketplace in a couple of days. Apparently, the more money you have to invest into the items, the more money you can gain. My study was begun with 100k, but in three days I was able to diversify that money and end up with quite a larger sum.
I kept a list of the items I bought/sold. After a while, I stopped adding my sales to the list, so this list really only shows about three days of marketplace activity. However, the profits are substantial, and since then I've made 300k off the market.
In the end, I made 49098 gold in three days, ending me with almost 150% my original money. In theory, you can make the same increase of money with any amount of gold- turning 150% profits on gold of 1 million or more.

As you can see, I found Whips of Fire/Ice to sell extremely well in my marketplace test, so I reused them.

This method should only be used by people who can easily make money or get it in real life. Ok so what you do is save up $25 or $10 than get a gaia cash card. Buy piggy plush's and lots of them, try to sell them for above 9400, I have made over 200k with a 25 card buying only $15 worth of pigs. My friend Dirtydevan2 made over 250k without buying over $16 worth I think. If you have any questions about this method please Pm me.

I actually haven't ever purchased from GaiaOnline, since I've realized I can make just as much money and not cost a penny.
However, that sounds like a great idea, at least for now. Once the averages become stable with the GC shops items in the marketplace, we won't be able to abuse this.
If you don't want to spend money, you could try buying these GC items when they're selling low, and sell them for high. I noticed I could buy those plushies for 5k earlier, which if you can sell them for 9k is a nice profit smile

Wow that's a lot of money. I saw them earlier on the MP for 5k a piece, I think I'm gunna start buying them if I see them that low, at least until prices become more steady

I monopolize.
Today, I bought all the under priced veils, those under 90k, and resold them for 90-91k. Turned a decent profit.
I usually do this with high demand items, like kiki's for instance, and try to turn them to profit.

Yeah that's what I plan on doing once I get enough money, however all I'm really working with right now is 300k or so, and it's in items that I'm trying to sell
Once I get 1-2 mil, though.. it's going down wink

Lol thanks! I'm glad we've been able to help. I've made an amazing revelation, though. I think it's how I'll be buying items from now on, instead of through the MP at all. What is it? Well, if you don't care which items you purchase, you can find some very good deals in the Gaia Exchange forums. Go to the wanted section and say you'll entertain offers -UNDER- MP values and you're buying anything up to some certain price. Then, bump away and wait for an amazing offer to walk right up to you. Seriously, it looks like it works. Five seconds of browsing and I found like five or six great offers.

For me, I usually use the MP as my "garage sale" space, clearing out unwanted items from my inventory (only to want them back, in the case of my Nori!Scarf sweatdrop That was a bad mistake). It's not a HUGE profit or anything, but it's never a bad idea to free up space either. smile
You can tell I'm one of the pack rat types. xd

Not only can you be a new, rare avvy every single day, you can also make lots of money. I've finally got to the point where I can wear items as well as sell the limit of 10 at my market almost constantly. And I've made it so I gain nothing but profits wink
