In an obscure part of town, you come across a small quaint shop, which sort of reminds you of those old fashion magic shops. The place looked old but in good shape, the place made of a dark wood with stained glass windows. Above the door on a dark wooden plaque are the words 'Sanctuary of Souls', likely the name of the shop. As you open the door the shop and step inside, a little bell rings to signal your arrival in the shop.

Glancing around the shop, you see myriad bookshelves along the walls, on which are books, crystals, vials of various colored liquids, various shaped figurines, and many other things. In the center of the room are a few dark colored cushy looking couchs around a wooden coffee table. Scattered around the room are a few statues, chairs, and plants. At the back of the shop is a small walkway with two stair cases, one leading to the upper floors of the shop, and one leading down into the depths of the shop.

A woman with long slighty wavy black hair wearing black oriental style clothing with white designs on them and glasses walks towards you from one of the couchs which she had been sitting on. "Irashaimasen!" she said in greeting in a silky voice with a small bow and a smile. With a gesture around the shop she added, "Welcome to the Sanctuary of Souls, my name is Reina, I am the shopkeeper." she waved at the couch opposite to the one she had been siting on previously, "Please, have a seat." she said, sitting back in the place she had sat before.

The shop's ambiance hit Ophelia like a warm wave, splashing hard at first before sucking her into the thermal depths. There seemed to be an odd aura about this place, albeit a generally pleasant one. Out of habit, she closed the door behind her, clutching at the knob before the lock clicked into place. Something about the finality of the noise gave her pause before she released the handle.

Her boots clicked slowly, rhythmically across the wooden floor. Everything in the shop's decor seemed to catch her eye, some items longer than others, but not one was mundane enough to ignore entirely. The woman's voice slicing pleasantly through the air shook Ophelia from her reverie. This shopkeeper seemed to exude the very "feeling" that inhabited the room.

Smiling politely, the customer gave a small nod and strolled into the center of the shop. She sat slowly on the yielding cushion, adjusting and smoothing her skirt as she did so. Her refined posture, back straight and knees together, looked out of place on the casual couch, but she seemed to not care. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Reina," she said with unintentional curtness.

Reina smiled pleasantly at the woman, "No no, the pleasure is all mine, miss...?" she replied, pausing for a few moments for an accompanying name, before casually gesturing at the platter on the coffee table between them, "Would you care for some tea? I just came up with this blend today, and I think it turned out rather well." The aroma of the tea wafted subtlety out of the tea pot and mingled nicely with the natural scent of the shop, and appeared to shape itself into various images in the air.

"See anything you like, from the things around the shop?" she asked with a warm smile before adding almost as an afterthought, "There is also something for sale that I specialize in the area of, that I don't keep out front." she stated waving vaguely at the hallway in the back.

( Oops, wrong account, oh well. ^^;; )

"Ophelia," she said with a subtle bow of her head, "My name is Ophelia." Giving a small smile of thanks, she carefully reached for the teacup and held it between two hands. With careful deliberation, she raised the tea to her lips and took a sip. As the cup was drawn from her face, she could have sworn she saw an elegant mask appear in the steam and frame the eyes of her hostess.

Upon thinking of all the artifacts in the shop, she soon realized that there would be no way she could choose from the wide array. Reina's somewhat vague offer intrigued her, though she wasn't entirely sure why. She wasn't an adventurous person by nature, but she felt the need to at least ask. "Something you specialize in?" she inquired.

"Ophelia... Such a nice name you have." Reina said with a genuine smile before lifted her own tea cup from the platter and gingerly sipped from it. She didn't seem to pay much mind to the steam as it played about in the air. Once it seemed to shape into a cat which padded over to Reina's head and curled up on it with a almost unseen wink to Ophelia before deforming into shapeless steam once more.

She gestured towards the back of the shop absently with her free hand as she spoke, "Yes, I specialize in finding poor lost souls that require someone to look after them." she said before sighing softly, "Their lives were cut too short and I found them on my journeys and took them in, and essentially gave them new life. But there are a might too many souls for me to care for, so I look for people like yourself for instance..." Ophelia was given a meaningful look before she continued, "To take care of them."

Ophelia's eyes followed the steam carefully, watching each wisp from appearance to dissipation. She paused in her study when Reina began speaking of lost souls. While she wasn't the most skeptical of people, it would be a stretch to say she believed everything she was being told. After the shopkeeper posed her question, the customer took a small sip of her tea as if to bring her senses back to reality.

With slightly jittery hands, she set the teacup on the saucer, causing the two surfaces to clang four times in very rapid succession. She folded her hands in her lap to keep them from rebelling again. "I..." she began hesitantly. "Would..." she tried again. When her eyes met Reina's she got some kind of boost of confidence from the kind look. "May I see what you, ah, 'have in stock,' so to speak?"

Reina smiled warmly and nodded, "Most certainly." she said before standing up and pausing for a moment, "They are in the back though, and it would probably be best for others not to go back there at the time being, since some of the souls are rather unpredictable at times. Would you mind waiting a moment while I go back and bring one out for you to see?" She wasn't actually lying about some of them being unpredictable, and though they couldn't do permanent harm to people they could still do harm, and she'd rather avoid that.

The steam appeared to be shaping itself into one of those little amusing puppet shows. Sometimes telling a story, sometimes whacking each other with steam bats.

It looked for a moment that Ophelia was going to follow Reina, but she shifted her weight a bit instead. She nodded and softly, almost anxiously, said, "Yes, go ahead, ah, I mean, no, I wouldn't mind." Smooth. What have you gotten yourself into this time? Out of habit, she again smoothed the small wrinkles and folds in her skirt over her knees. A sheepish smile crossed her lips, and she blushed a very faint pink tint.

The whole experience felt surreal from the moment she walked in the door, and what was happening inside the shop did little to help her feel like she wasn't dreaming.

"I shall be right back then." Reina smiled soothingly to Ophelia before turning and walking to the back of the store, into the hallway, and down the stairs there. The steam floating about in the air seemed to try and get her attention and entertain her while Reina was out of the room. It seemed to be trying to do a somewhat fast paced reenactment of an obscure movie.

Right when the steam's little movie ended, which seemed like it had been mere minutes, the sounds of footsteps ascending the stairs echoed a bit. Out of the hallway walked Reina, leading behind her a shirtless man who seemed like he could be sleep walking since his eyes were closed. His pants were black, and he had a black fur cape that looked very soft. On his head was a black top hat. Curiously, there appeared to be black cat ears sticking out of the sides of the top hat, and he appeared to have a long slender black tail. He wore a simple black mask with tufts on the ends on his face. He also wore a black necklace and bracelet that were wrapped around a few times. His nails were a bit long and black, seeming somewhat claw-like.

Reina led the man over to the couch and gingerly sat him down on it. It crossed her mind that it seemed like a lot of the male souls she had were half-dressed. She smiled in amusement before softly petting the catboy's ear, "This is Adrastos." as she said this the mask on his face glimmered a moment, before his eyes slowly opened to reveal beautiful green eyes with slitted pupils.

( Feel free to take over Adrastos. )

Ophelia's cheeks turned a slightly deeper pink as Adrastos was led into the room. At first glance, he was a very attractive man. At second glance, he was a very attractive... cat-man? The customer wasn't exactly sure what she was expecting, but it somehow wasn't this. A wisp of colored smoke, some transparent specter rattling chains perhaps, just something else was in her mind's eye.

She wasn't, however, displeased. Leaning forward to get a better look, she found herself growing more fond of the soul by the second.

...Eh? Where am I? He blinked his eyes a few times, trying to adjust his pupils to the change in light. Two women came into focus, one of which he recognized and the other which he did not. The strange woman was looking over him with scrutinizing eyes, leaving him feeling a little awkward and a little flattered. It wasn't long, though, before he began feeling a little strange.

"Is... There something on my face?"

Ophelia's cheeks turned the reddest they had been since she entered the shop, and an embarrassed smile crossed her lips. "My apologies," she said quietly and gave a small bow of her head. "Please forgive me ignorant eyes for staring upon your foreign countenance."

Adrastos gave a smile back with one eyebrow peering over his mask. And I'll bet she thinks I'm the strangest one in the room...

Reina smiled warmly at Ophelia, "So, does he suit you?" she asked, flourishing one of her hands towards Adrastos before picking her tea cup up from the platter again and taking a sip. Their reactions to each other were rather amusing to Reina.

( Sorry about the really short post. ;3; )
