which would you take? solid, no energy consumption or energy, no ammo cost?
i can go both ways depending on what I'm doing. if I'm in arena fights then I'm use solids because I'm using boost a lot and need all my energy. for missions with large MTs ill use high power energy.

I have a tendency to use solid a lot, almost to the exclusion of energy. I get killed more often when i go energy, at least thats the way it seems.

I prefer Solids for my main ACs but for one of my C-Stock ACs, GENRA, I use a High Energy Rifle and a Laser Cannon, but yeah. AC4 you have ammo for lasers now, but they do like 3-4 thousand damage, depending on what type of mech you have.

Arena, Solids! I gotta move!
(But I almost always use the energy machine gun EO, no matter the loadout.)

in arena solids are best for me since i pepper my opponent with machine guns and chain guns i only use energy guns on my tank Heartless to kill an enemy AC

I try to split up my AC's weapon payout with half Solid and half Energy. So I almost always use an Sword and an Energy weapon, and the others are solid ammo of some nature.

i prefer solid ammunition over energy sure it costs more but to my expectations and preferences it works better how ever i am partial to the ob built in weapons on certain cores and not to sound simple minded but the back mounted rail guns make a pretty boom as for damage it is acceptable but i pretty much just rely on my machine guns and missle systems i hardly ever use bladed weapons unless i am in the arena in which case thats all i use

I used to have a tendency to go all solid, due to being new and not being able to control boost very well. Now that ive gotten 100% game completion in all 6 ac games i have, Ive been building Arena ACs alot. As far as energy vs solid goes, I usually pack both. My AC's almost always have a laser blade in the hanger, and I often equip a laser rifle in one hand or the other. I also equip a solid weapon in the other hand, and missiles on the back. having both energy and solid helps me adapt to different situations better, especially when I'm playing against friends, and i don't know what the AC they are using is like. If i had to go all 1 or the other, as far as arena goes, I would take solid, only cause my AC designs tend to need "recharge" periods. All energy weapons plus boosting forces me to fire in short bursts.

I prefer solids over energy for a few reasons, but my main reason as for the lasers inaccuracy in close combat (Excluding the blades)I tend to get up close and personal so lasers don't help much when I can always unload an entire magazine on an enemy and not miss a shot. There is one exception for energy and thats when I'm sniping. Solids just don't pack the same punch at long range.

depends on which Armored Core your talking about
Before AC4 or after
AC Last Raven and below depends on the mission
AC4 regs 1-3 Energy
AC4 regs 4-6 Solid
and solids have way more stopping power in AC4 than in any other AC

I am Solid all the way, I dont count the blade as an energy weapon... I just use the Motorcobra and a good blade and a Grenade launcher and I am fine for arena, online, and missions.

ill use nergy allmost all of the time. i can boost and fire enerfy weopons at the same time so i have no problems realy. ill use certain solid weopons if im in constant boost.

I thoroughly do not like energy weapons because I tend to dash and fly around a lot, and energy weapons take from my energy reserve. That and, if I do use an energy weapon, and it misses, that's energy I could have used being mobile, and now I cannot move quickly as long.
