anyone else get this?
i have sooo many things to say about it.
first of all, the fact that it's a hardcover book is amazing.
sako shahinian's artwork is breathtaking, in my opinion better than the artwork in cool gardens.
the first disc is all the normal elect the dead music.
fuggin' amazing!
my favorite songs are probably money, feed us, empty walls, and lie lie lie.
sky is over is the most epic, but i like the others better.
now moving on to the bonus disc.
the tracks on it are:
Blue
Empty Walls (Acoustic)
Feed Us (Acoustic)
Falling Stars
_all i want to say is that the acoustic empty walls is more beautiful than any other song on the entire album.
it's just breathtaking.
the other bonus material is awesome too.
then we have the little membership card thing that comes with it.
it unlocks the deluxe serj tankian website
there's awesome stuff here, like extra wallpapers/icons, a serj interview with flea from the red hot chili peppers, and most of the music videos.
my favorite part, however, is the fact that you can stream the club remix of empty walls, which was also on side b of the empty walls vinyl i think.
but it's friggin' awesome.
i'll tell ya, kids.
best 25 bucks i ever spent.

My official FanCorps, StreetWise, and MySpace review:
1. Empty Walls: surely we all know what this sounds like. i love it.
2. The Unthinking Majority: you should all know this song even if you don't own the album. a very middle-eastern twist. lyrics mainly came from serj's poem, Condemned, which you can read in the LTD edition.
3. Money: probably my favorite song on the album, it sounds like a lot of SoaD songs, with a very calm verse and suddenly erupting into a chorus that's thrashy. great lyricism too.
4. Feed Us: great song, makes me wanna end world hunger.
5. Saving Us: i got bored by the verse, and then the chorus woke me up. but your opinion is probably different.
6. Sky is Over: the most epic song on the record. not one of my favorites, but sounds like it can appeal to a lot of people.
7. Baby: Eye-Sac was in this music video i think. it's basically serj's idea of a love song. it's okay, i like it sorta.
8. Honking Antelope: this song's lyrics are very weird to understand, so i'll explain it: the concept of the "Honking Antelope" was said by Serj to represent the inverse of someone hitting an antelope with their car. he wants you to think reverse and picture the antelope in the car honking the horn. it's some brilliant songwriting.
9. Lie Lie Lie: by far the most catchy song on the record. i wanna dance to this one too, i'm just a horrible dancer...
10. Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition: experimental take on a classic patriotic song. i didn't really get this, but hey, at least it's listen-able.
11. Beethoven's c**t: you gotta listen to this a few times before you understand it. but it's a great song.
12. Elect the Dead: it's okay, very unorthodox Serj, just him and a piano. the lyrics are cool though.
and now for the Bonus Disc tracks:
B1. Blue: a classic system song reworked in the studio. it's weird, but i think you can appreciate it.
B2. Empty Walls (Acoustic): okay, this completely beats any other song on the record. it's one of the most beautiful things i've ever heard. i don't care if you haven't got the limited edition, find some way to hear this song. it's a must.
B3. Feed Us (Acoustic): better than the original. i just think Serj's acoustic material is more emotional than his other stuff. doesn't mean everything else is bad, you can just understand his better when music doesn't get in the way.
B4. Falling Stars: haven't listened to this one much. but it's cool.
Album Score: 10 out of 10.
Nearly a perfect album, my favorite non-FairToMidland record.
what i love about this cd is that there aren't any filler songs. ya know, the ones that just take up space. Serj put his heart and soul into every one *except maybe PtLaPtA*

System of a Dave Album Score: 10 out of 10. Nearly a perfect album, my favorite non-FairToMidland record. what i love about this cd is that there aren't any filler songs. ya know, the ones that just take up space. Serj put his heart and soul into every one *except maybe PtLaPtA* I agree...but disagree. I love P.t.L.a.P.t.A. And of coarse he put his heart and soul into that song! He puts his heart and soul into practically everything that he does! And, in my opinion, P.t.L.a.P.t.A. was one of the best songs. And same with Saving Us. I think those songs are far better than Beethoven's c**t and Honking Antelope. Maybe we should turn this into a opinion thread. (?)

I'm listening to the bonus songs on YouTube again at the moment.
I think Empty Walls gets its point across a lot better in acousticness.
His version of Blue is better than the SOAD version, too. haha.
