Oh, dear god, I don't feel alive...
Okay, my filtering on here is set to minimal (the lowest). Turns out, it'll let me say "********" without any problem whatsoever, but "pe-do-phile" is censored. They'll let me say whatever the ******** else I want to, but of all the words in the dictionary, they chose the word "*****" to disallow.
The logic here eludes me, but whatever. Thoughts?

Lanzer asserts that discussion of this particular topic will result in solicitation of teenagers. While it doesn't make sense that I can say 'child molester' to my heart's content but not 'p.edophile', it's his website- a private business. He isn't obligated to allow us free speech, nor to maintain intellectual integrity at the expense of profit.
I'm pretty sure you all know how I feel on the topic, since mine was probably the most prominant thread addressing the subject in the ED. But what's done is done, and we're obligated to follow Gaia's Terms of Service, no matter how irrational it may seem. If people are terribly interested, we can set up our own site for said discussion.
We can certainly discuss the policy. But I'd encourage everyone to keep in mind that if we discuss p.edophilia itself, they're going to shut down the guild and ban whoever was involved.

I'm still confused though. How is a thread discussing THE BAD WORD will result in child solicitation? The only scenario I can think of is...
