Some of you may know, but for those of you who don't, there is a serious lawsuit going on against one of my favorite photographers, Lithium Picnic.

One of his former employers (he's freelance), The corporate giant that is Suicide Girls, is suing him and his wife Apnea.

They claim that Lithium Picnic (aka Phillip) broke the terms of their contracts by shooting photos for Apena's one-girl website (one girl sites were allowed when Phillip signed his contract). They claim that her site is a "competitor to their monopoly of "alt-porn".

Since the beginning of the lawsuit, many SG models have been terminated for shooting with Phillip, or even asking questions about the lawsuit.

Suicide Girls has implied that they intend for the lawsuit to drag out for years to come in official statements. The lawsuit has already cost several thousand dollars for Phillip and Apnea. Lithium Picnic has had to auction most of his photography equipment to pay for lawyer fees.

Its not over yet. Its only just beginning. And this is only one in a line of lawsuits that SG has been filing against other websites or models for "profiting off of their idea".

Its really sad that they would go so far. Did anyone read some of the other model's stories? Its awful!

But yeah, they know they won't win. They just have the money to drag it out and the lawyers to bring up stupid little s**t and change s**t around.

When I start making some money I'm going to donate to him for his legal fees.

Just spread the word. If you see people talking about how awesome Suicide Girls is, tell them "uh, ******** no" and to go to GodsGirls if they want hot tattooed chicks without all the bullshit. 3nodding

SG's model release forms are ridiculous and I'm sure it's the same for the photographer's contracts, I think it's really unfair and a ridiculous way to run their business - a lot of the girls have left because of how stupid they've been - and reportedly those girls have had unused photos being sold off to really... disreputable porn sites which has completely trashed their reputation.

I am a member of SG and I love the community and some of the shoots are completely amazing but I'm not a fan of their business ethic at all. It completely goes against what they set out to do, and I know a lot of members are leaving to because of all of the bullshit.

They need to be careful if they're gonna carry on trading.

Not sure if anyone's checked out this site, but it was on Apnea's site and I think it's amazing and I totally support it.
Lawyers for Suicide Girls, however, do not. [Well, duh, but that's beside the point.] They've already contacted the site and asked it to cease it's "trademark infridgement" and enter settlement discussions to compensate for SG's loss.
[This was back in 06, I think]
It said if the site didn't stop, then legal actions would be taken.
I don't think there've been any more updates since the letter was posted, but it's still a worthy site to check out.
