Lesson 2 Homework Submissions

Status: No longer accepting

Homework will stop being accepted as soon as the grades for the respective lesson are out (should happen two weeks or so after the lesson has started), unless the student can provide a good reason for delivering it after such. Such situations are to be discussed in Professor Firenze's office.

Lesson 2 Homework: Perry Lorace, Hufflepuff, Fifth Year

I percieve tasseography to be both, reliant and non-relaint. For the reliant part, if someone reads their leaves correctly and understands the meaning enough to know that it is right. The non-reliant, is for those who misread their leaves, and don't understand the meanings. The outcome of what the tea leaves say, are dependent upon the reader's skills at percieving and knowing the true signs. In conclusion, rather accurate or faulty, depends on the reader's readings.

Tasseography is not like chemistry where things are either right or wong. Reading tea leaves leaves a lot to be determined by the reader. For some, this can make the art seem very inaccurate because people have trouble trusting others. Sure, there can be those who don't read the tea leaves correclty, but there are others who really do have gifts that can make it a valuable science. For me, I've learned that tasseography takes a lot of focus and the ability to think through all the possibilities. If one is focused and believes in the art they can master it with enough accuracy to make anyone, even unbelievers, happy.

I find Tasseography to be a lot like tarot readings. It's not that either are necessarily faulty. Rather they give you predictions of things that MAY happen. Because of this, they aren't really accurate either. I guess in a way, I think that Tasseography simply tells you the result of one of the many paths you may choose down the road. However, it doesn't mean that you will choose that road. If by chance you do, then you may find the reading to be "accurate". If you don't, thats when people think readings like these are "faulty". In my opinion, tools used in divination, such as the one we've just focused on, lay in a neutral territory.
