Welcome to Gaia, the WoW guild!
Many guilds have fancy websites; for a guild made by Gaia members for Gaia, what is more appropriate than a Gaia guild for that task?
The Gaia WoW Guild is definitely what you would call a "casual" guild. Fun and friendship are at the front of the Gaia experience. Putting Arthas on farm once WotLK comes out? Maybe eventually... or not, who knows.
Table of contents!
1. This post. 2. Requirements for being a member of this guild, and officers list. 3. The three laws of the guild. 4. Other stuff.
Please check this often, as it is occasionally subject to change (especially the other stuff.)

Post the second: Guild requirements and ranks
Current GWG members will be "grandfathered" into this - some members are with us from a previous guild merger, and are encouraged (but not required) to do some of these.
Requirements:
1. The Gaia WoW Guild plays Horde characters on the Exodar realm. We welcome characters of any Horde race, and any class.
2. Would-be guild members should obtain Gaia accounts and join this on-Gaia guild. This "GGN" provides a place to kick back and relax offline and get useful information about the guild and its activities, and it is to your benefit to have access to it.
5. Members should be willing to obey directives of the guild leadership as required (there won't be many, but even so,) and if there is dispute, to agree with the leadership's arbitration in them.
----
The rank structure.
Rank is somewhat relaxed here, and is currently in transition as much of the guild is. The current ranks are:
Guild Master: The owner of the guild. This is Narkenian (my druid.)
General / Alt: Denotes the guild leadership, and are mostly equal to the Guild Master.
Banker: A member responsible for handling guild bank affairs. ***Suspended until 2.3 and the guild bank system go public.***
Officer: "Lesser" guild leadership, mainly given this rank to be capable and responsible for adding new members to the guild. heart
Member Alt: Alt accounts of members.
Member: Main account of a member.
Lazy Peon: The "entry" rank. Used for new, unconfirmed members.
Temporal Stasis: For members who have been inactive for at least a month, but less than three months.

The three laws of the guild.
1. General Conduct:
Basically, obey the Terms of Use / Service both here on Gaia, and on WoW. Do try to be literate, and at least polite, whether in guild chat, on open channels, or in voice chat.
And for Gaia mods and admins who play... it's ok once in a while, but don't poke for work stuff too much.
2. In-game stuff:
-Partying: Leave ample time for a run if possible. Emergencies happen, and only unreasonable folks will hold it against you; but we stick with it until the end, or until it is impossible.
-Looting: Ninja looting is not tolerated. Apart from that, ask the group before "needing" anything, even if it's clearly yours to take (for example, a BoP healing ring, and you are the healer.) For Enchanters, please keep other toons' repair bills in mind, and give them a chance to get greens to vendor / ah.
-Auction House: If you ah at all, be reasonable with it. Trying to inflate or deflate stuff is not cool, not cool at all. But then, we have the Gaia Exchange and Marketplace to teach us that lesson. smile
3. Helping each other out.
"You scratch my back, and I'll scratch yers." We can and should try to help each other out with quests and stuff - it's an advantage of having friends and guildmates. At the same time, though, it's also good practice (and honing yer techniques) to try to run with people at yer own / the instance's level.
This goes for all levels. The high level toons can certainly set aside time to help the lower levels, but they also have high level things that need done, whether it's grinding the last levels to 70, farming mats / gold / reputation, or getting raid-keyed. Please do keep this aspect in mind. 3nodding

Ninja post: The Bank.
As y'all know, WoW build 2.3 has introduced a guild bank system. These are the laws of using it.
1. Ranks: Guild Master: By default, has infinite access. Banker: Has practically infinite (ie, absurdly high) access. This reflects the rank's purpose. Probationary / Temporal Stasis: No access. This prevents most "ninja" issues for newbie members. All others: Reasonable limits have been set: 50-150 gold and 10 item slots per tab, per day.
2. Gold in the bank:
Please pay attention to the repair tabs when repairing: while the guild bank guild CAN be withdrawn for such purpose, I ask that you not do so unless necessary. The gold is currently earmarked for expanding the guild tabs, and any donations to that cause are to everyone's benefit. heart
3. Item withdrawals and deposits:
This guild seems much better about depositing than withdrawing. Don't be afraid to take once in a while - that's what it's for, after all. Take some 14-bags as a newbie alt, seriously, do it. Take magic items for disenchanting - heck, if you are good at AH, take stuff and AH it. If it sits there, it just inhibits deposits of more useful stuff.
However, taking high-level items such as equips when your character is not yet 70 or even remotely close to 70, is not allowed. Anyone looting high level items from the bank at a low level will be stripped of their guild bank permissions.
