I spent yesterday working at a small local coffee house. I am taking a Figure drawing class with my mother ( xd ) and it's great! It is also my last 3 credits for my A.S. degree. Whoo-hoo! The teacher is a Drill Sergeant (figuratively speaking) and by the time we're done, my mom and I will be rockin'! I am working on redrawing my toon while doing my homework. I’m so excited!

I want to be Larisani. redface Young, work in a coffee shop, take art classes. I'm 49, on disability, love art but have no money for classes and I'm POOR - which so sucks! Larisani, enjoy young guys looking at you. It is so not cool to be a single mother at 49. No market for us in the guy department. neutral

It's hard to find a partner in general. I have 2 friends that used match.com and 1 of them is getting married! When I first saw them as a couple it was obvious that they just gelled. My other friend who is my age, single mom, 12 year old daughter is having a bit of trouble, but she goes on some great dates. My mommy also met a man in her mid-forties by just doing what she loved. Just do what you love, that's what I tell everyone. I am lucky, my mom is paying for my class, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to go. Working at the coffee shop gives me some money and it's not a lot of hours, so I can handle it. I have quite a few issues of my own stressed , so don't be too jealous, it's not as cool as it sounds. You mentioned Disability, well I got the green flag for it. It is very hard to get at my age, but I'm screwed up enough to qualify. I only work about 10 hours a week, and I have trouble handling that sometimes. My major problem... Bipolar Disorder. I've had it my whole life. People say, "You don't look like you have anything wrong with you." Part of me gets annoyed, like, "What the hell am I supposed to look like?" The other part of me (which is more my attitude) says to myself, "I just totally changed your preconceived notion of mental illness upside down! BAM SUCKA! I done Schooled you!" It feels good. I don't mind mentioning it, I'm not ashamed (disappointed, but not ashamed). If my disclosure can help one person, just ONE, feel less isolated and scared through my openness, it is all worth it! Then there's other stuff, but we'll save that for another "SERIOUS STORYTIME".
Woah, this stuff is heavy. Sorry guys.

And I get the same responses. It's like I'm supposed to be talking to myself or calling myself Jesus! rolleyes I'm going to start working part time in the Spring, I hope. At a garden and pet center - which is what I love. So let's keep on keeping on together and "schooling" people!
