Now, I really don't want to have to write an entire book of rules. Most things should be common sense, so there's really no need for me to even have to make mention to them. But here is a small list of things that every person, looking to join this thread, needs to know.

Please remember, this thread has a three strikes and you're out policy. The rules here aren't hard to follow at all, and if you feel the need to break them up to three times, you'll be added to our blacklist. I honestly hope, however, none of that will ever be necessary. Also note that all Gaian rules apply to this thread.

This is a Literate/Semi-literate thread, meaning you must at least know the simple concept of grammar, sentence structure, punctuation and spelling. Lets try to keep our posts easily understood for our follow role player's, and give them something to go off of for their own posts. I'm going to have to ask that no one use the dreaded "one-liners" here, and no chat speak either. Please spell out your words, and try to make at least a one paragraph posts.

I think is is the most important one here. No godmoding or metagaming. Remember, not only do we need to keep this thread PG-13, but it's just not fun if there's one person running around that seems to have the power of universe at his/her disposal, or seems to know everything about a situation right down to the color of the enemies underwear, no matter how late in the game this person came in.

Romance is allowed and highly encouraged as long as it abides by all the Gaian and Guild rules. Everything in this thread must be kept to a PG-13 level. This mean absolutely no cybering what-so-ever! However, we need to remember that this is a role play, have fun with your romances and don't rush into anything. Yaoi and Yuri and also accepted in this thread, so no saying you weren't warned. Please be respectful to those who choose to have such relationships between their characters.

You must stay active I'm afraid. It just isn't any fun if you have to wait a month between posting because you're waiting on one person. If you know you're going to be gone for awhile, just let me know and try to work yourself out of any situations you're in until you're able to come back and continue posting. Please don't just leave people hanging.

.:Inuyasha's Group
Inuyasha Played By: Reserved
Inuyasha is a hanyou (half-demon) who appears to be around 15 years old, but in reality is closer to 200. His father was a powerful dog taiyoukai (demon lord) and his mother was a human. He also has a half-brother named Sesshomaru who is a full demon. Myouga is his family adviser/companion.
When Inuyasha's father died, he left two swords for his sons. Inuyasha received the Tetsusaiga, which can kill 100 demons with a single swing. Sesshomaru received the Tenseiga, which is the opposite. It can bring 100 people back to life.
Inuyasha's abilities include: the Sankon Tetsusou (Soul Scattering Iron Claw / Iron Reaver Soul Stealer) - a very strong claw attack. The Hijin Ketsusou (Flying Blade Blood Claws / Blades of Blood) - he gets his blood on his claws, and can throw blades from it. The Tetsusaiga (Pulverizing Steel Fang) - a sword forged from his father's fang. It is very powerful, and can be used to perform the Kaze no Kizu (cutting wind). Eventually he learns the Bakuryuuha (explosive wave technique) - which allows him much greater control over the sword and it's power, and finally the Kekkaigiri (barrier destroyer) which allows him to break through magical barriers.
At times the demon blood in Inuyasha takes control of his body. He becomes completely evil and a mindless killer. Some people believe that he 'turns full demon', but this is incorrect. The actual explanation is that the demon blood from his father is so powerful that it can take him over. After he turns back, he is not aware of what happened.
Since he is a half demon, he becomes a full human on the night of every new moon. His hair turns black, his features become more human (no claws, fangs, or dog ears, etc.), he looses all his powers, and can no longer transform the Tetsusaiga. When the sun rises, he turns back into his normal form.
Inuyasha is first seen when he is bound to a tree (after 50 years) from an arrow by Kikyo. He is released by Kagome, a girl from the future that traveled back to feudal Japan through a mysterious well. Inuyasha first thinks she is Kikyo, the woman who trapped him years ago, while in reality, she is her reincarnation. They eventually become friends, and Inuyasha fondness for humans becomes stronger (a trait actually inherited from his father - as he found his bride in a human). Inuyasha originally wanted the Shikon jewel for himself, to become a full demon, and part of him still wants this someday, but his primary goal (and the goal of those who accompany him) is to prevent the shards of the Shikon from falling into the hands of those who wish to abuse it's powers.
Kagome Played By: Reserved
Kagome comes from modern day Japan, where she lives in the Higurashi shrine with her mother, younger brother Sota, grandfather Jii-chan, and cat Buyo. She is about 15 years old at the start of the series.
Kagome is the re-incarnation of Kikyo, and has the same powers that she does, although she slowly had to learn to use them. She, like Kikyo, is skilled with her bow and is able to create purifying arrows which destroy demons. She is also skilled in healing, primarily because of the medicines she brings with her to the past.
Kagome is a teenage girl in modern day Japan who one day discovers a mystical well. Being the reincarnation of Kikyo, inside of her is the Shikon Jewel, which attracts a demon trapped in the well who pulls her through to the other side into feudal Japan where she meets up with Inuyasha. She finds Inuyasha bound to the tree by Kikyo's magic, and frees him so he will help her escape the demon who is after her. She eventually learns the truth about Kikyo and the events that have taken place, mainly from Kagome (Kikyo's younger sister - who is now much older after the 50 years Inuyasha was bound). She has more control over Inuyasha than anyone else, since he develops feelings for her, and since Kaede put a magical necklace around Inuyasha's neck, forcing him to fall to the ground when Kagome says 'sit'!
Occasionally she goes back to her time to take tests, and to be with her family. Her good friends at school are Eri, Ayumi, and Yuka, who are always concerned about her, since her grandfather makes up all sorts of crazy excuses for why she is not often in class. She has even told the girls a bit about Inuyasha, but they think she would be better off with Hojo - a boy from their school.
Shippo Played By: Open
Shippo is a shape-shifting kitsune youkai (fox demon). He is only a young boy, and even though he is a full demon, his powers are very limited. They mainly involve illusions.
He has the power to transform into a floating pink balloon, leave a trail of Naki Kinoko (weeping mushrooms), and he can also change his appearance, but not perfectly. Once he transforms into Kagome to tease Inuyasha, but his tail is still visible! He is also able to perform the Tsubushi Goma (spinning top attack), and Kitsune Bi (fox fire).
Shippo is first seen trying to gather the shards of the Shikon Jewel to gain enough strength to avenge his fathers death at the hands of the Thunder Brothers. He joins up with Inuyasha and the others in their quest.
During their adventures, Shippo gets scared easily, but he still tries hard to help out when he can. Sometimes he is an unexpected savior of the group.
Once, while travelling through a village, he meets a girl called Satsuki who is looking for her own two-tailed cat that looks very much like Kirara. Shippo instantly falls for her, but he has leave her village soon after to continue their journey.
Miroku Played By: Open
Miroku is a houshi (monk) who travels across the lands in search of Naraku, who put a curse on his family, giving him the Kazaana (Wind Tunnel). The Kazaana is a hole in his right hand which can be used to suck in demons, or anything else, of almost any size. The curse is that the Kazaana will grow larger and larger and eventually take him over. This happened to Miroku's father.
When Miroku was young, his guardian was Mushin. He meets up with Mushin again while visiting the site where his father was killed.
Miroku also carries a shakujou (monk's staff) and can create strong spells for finding and vanquishing demons.
Aside from finding and destroying Naraku, Miroku's secondary goal seems to be to make as much money as possible from saving people, and getting all the girls he can. His favorite line is "Would you like to bear my child?". Sometimes he even has his companion Hachi pretend to be a demon to scam people. He is good hearted, but is not always honest.
Eventually Miroku eases up on his ways, as he and Sango start to have quite a fondness for each other.
Sango/Kirara Played By: Open
Sango is a young woman from the taijiya no mura (the exterminator's village). She and her family are youkai taijiya (demon exterminators).
Sango was originally tricked by Naraku to try to kill Inuyasha. She was told that he was responsible for destroying her village, and the other demon exterminators. Her brother Kohaku was almost killed by Naraku as well, and Sango used a shard of the Shikon Jewel to keep him alive. Unfortunately, Kohaku was taken control of by Naraku, and she fights to find him and get her brother back.
After learning the truth about Naraku, Sango joins up with Inuyasha and the gang. She meets up with Kohaku several times, but as he is under Naraku's control, he does not yet remember his sister.
During their travels, Sango and Miroku start to like each other more, but much like Inuyasha and Kagome, they often have trouble admitting it.
Sango uses her Hiraikotsu (flying bone), which is a large boomerang. She can slice through just about any demon with it. She also uses a katana and a small dagger.
Kirara is a neko youkai (cat demon), and a companion to Sango. In her normal form, Kirara is a small kitten with two tails, but when her help is needed or trouble strikes, she changes into a huge cat with sharp fangs and claws. In this form she can also fly, and can carry others.
Inuyasha first meets Kirara in a village that was attacked by demons. He later learns that she is the beloved pet of the demon hunter Sango.
Kirara has no known relatives, although in one episode there is another two-tailed cat (with three kittens). In episode 26, there is also a short scene in which a neko youkai is standing with Midoriko - the powerful miko who created the Shikon no Tama. If this is indeed Kirara, it would mean that she is quite old despite her looks.

Sesshomaru Played By: Reserved
Sesshomaru is the older brother of Inuyasha. They share the same father but while Inuyasha's mother was human (making him a half demon), Sesshomaru's mother was not, and he is a full demon. No information has been given on Sesshomaru's mother.
Like his brother, Sesshomaru is an inu youkai (dog demon). In his regular form, he has several poison attacks including the Dokkasou (toxic flower claw) and the Dokumukou (paralyzing poison). He is also extremely fast.
In his more demonic form, Sesshomaru transforms into a giant dog who breathes Jakimukou (paralyzing miasma).
Sesshomaru and Inuyasha have a strange relationship. Sesshomaru feels superior because he is a full demon and does not like the fact that Inuyasha cares for humans, but he does not seem to realize that his father must have cared for humans too, at least somewhat.
The brothers each received a sword forged by Totosai from their father's fangs, but Sesshomaru is angry that he was given the healing Tenseiga while Inuyasha was given the Tetsusaiga. Despite his claims, it was obviously meant to be that way, since only a half-demon can hold the Tetsusaiga, and it feeds off the need to protect humans.
Sesshomaru also had another sword made - Toukijin. It was created by Kaikinbou, a former apprentice of Totosai, from a fang of the demon that was able to break the Tetsusaiga.
When Sesshomaru comes upon the human child Rin, he begins to take care of her, and even guards her. He does not come right out and say it, but it seems he is developing the ability to care for humans, however slight.
Sesshomaru often speaks of wishing to kill Inuyasha, but during the (many) chances he has, he prefers to wait. He may or may not want to fully go through with it, despite what he says.
Rin Played By: Open
Rin is a young girl who lost her family to a group of killers. She wandered from village to village stealing food to survive until she was caught and hurt by a group of villagers and forced to flee.
She discovered Sesshomaru, who had recently fought Inuyasha, and tried to help him. She offers him food, but he does not accept. Soon after, Rin's village is attacked my Koga and the wolf demon tribe, and she is mortally wounded. She is brought back to life with the power of Sesshomaru's sword.
After this, Rin follows Sesshomaru wherever he goes.
Jaken Played By: Open
Jaken has no known family, but he was once the leader of a small group of .. whatever he is. Then he met Sesshomaru and was so amazed by his power that he has followed him ever since.
Jaken's power lies in his Nintoujou (staff of heads). This two headed staff has the power to shoot both fire and water. It can also be used to detect things, and possibly more uses which are not yet revealed. He often rides on the two-headed dragon Ah-Un.
As the servant of Sesshomaru, Jaken follows him around everywhere and eventually even becomes friends with Rin. He is always trying to do things to please Sesshomaru, and he rarely succeeds. He is quite a bothersome character and it is amazing that Sesshomaru puts up with him.

.:Naraku's Group
Naraku Played By: Reserved
Naraku was formed when the evil thief Onigumo allowed himself to be consumed by countless demons. They absorbed into one entity, and this became Naraku. The spider-shaped scar came from a bad burn Onigumo had suffered, and all of Naraku's future incarnations would share this same sign.
As one of the most powerful demons in existence, he can regenerate his body, form weapons from himself, release a powerful miasma (a toxic fog), create powerful barriers, controls the demon insects, creates incarnations (detachments) of himself, and create kugutsu (puppets) to communicate with, and spy on others from far away. The white-furred baboon form is such a puppet, which explains why it vanishes when it is attacked.
Inuyasha and Naraku do share one common trait. They are both hanyou (half-demons). This means that there are certain periods when Naraku becomes a full human as well, although he usually hides during these periods.
Naraku's main goal is to gather the shards of the Shikon Jewel and become a full demon. He will stop at nothing to reach this. He was also responsible for tricking Kikyo and Inuyasha many years ago.
Naraku is first seen in the form of a wakatono (young lord) named Hitomi Kagewaki, who he most likely killed. Naraku has many other forms, as well as incarnations or demons formed from himself. These creatures generally are completely under Naraku's control, and he uses them to do his bidding. Very rarely does he do his own work. Once he tried to release the original 'Onigumu' part of him, which he called Muso, but it was not a complete success, and Muso was re-absorbed by Naraku.
Akago Played By: Open
Akago is the first form of the 6th detachment of Naraku who takes the form of a young baby and serves as Naraku's heart so that Naraku can be destroyed, but still regenerate (since his heart is somewhere else).
He can speak (at least until Hakudoshi detaches), and has the ability to read minds. He is able to take the evilness of a person and use it to command them.
Akago was split in half by a powerful monk (Master Shinsen) while searching for the border between hell and the living world and turned into Hakudoshi and eventually Moryomaru.
He was placed under the protection of a woman (who was tricked into thinking he was hers). Later on, this woman is killed by Kohaku, and Kanna takes Akago into hiding again.
He is given the stolen Fyoheki stone to hide him from others, and is later incorporated into Moryomaru.
Hakudoushi Played By: Open
Hakudoushi is one of the many incarnations of Naraku. His age is unknown, but he is very young.
Hakudoushi is very powerful in terms of strength and his use of weapons. He generally uses a spear and can regenerate indefinitly because no attack can kill him (because his heart is safe in his other half's body). He can also summon up a very strong barrier like Naraku, which protects against Inuyasha's Kaza no Kizu. For a while he rode a demon horse Entei, but he was destroyed by Inuyasha.
This detachment of Naraku was originally Akago (Naraku's baby). He had the power to find evil in anyone and the ability to use it to control them. When his powers are used on a dying person, he could see the world between this one and the next. It was his original mission to find a way to enter this world for Naraku.
Once when using this power on a monk (Master Shinsen), the monk used the last of his own holy power to split Akago in half. Kagura and Kanna were each given one half.
The half held by Kagura grew into a young boy that became Hakudoushi, and Kanna's half remained a child. Kagura discovered that Hakudoushi does not have a heart, and she believes that the baby held by Kanna holds their heart, and possibly even the heart of Naraku!
Hakudoushi also holds a special link with Naraku that the other incarnations do not. He often threatens Kagura since he knows of her plans to betray Naraku.
Kagura Played By: Open
Kagura is the second incarnation of Naraku, and as such, she is deeply part of him. Suprisingly, she tends to dislike him. Her main goal is to free herself from his control, yet she must still do as he commands. While she does pose a threat to Inuyasha and the others, she begins to think that it might be a good idea to let them try to kill Naraku. Once she even tries to get Sesshomaru to destroy him for her.
Kagura's main power is the wind. She can control it and use it for her purposes. She can also use this power to fly, with the use of a feather. Her powers also include the Fuujin no Mai (dance of the wind blades), Ryuuja no Mai (dance of the dragon snakes - or tornadoes), and Shikabane Mai (corpse dance).
Kanna Played By: Open
Kanna was the first incarnation of Naraku. She is considered to be the sister of Kagura, yet she is just as much a part of the other incarnations as well. She appears to be around 10 years of age, but as with many others, this does not always mean much.
She carries with her a magic mirror which can be used to steal the souls of the living, and then take control of their bodies. As powerful as the mirror is, it was once broken while trying to take Kagome's soul, and had to be repaired. Naraku is also able to watch things through her mirror.
Unlike Kagura, Kanna is completely loyal to Naraku, and often is responsible for giving orders to the other incarnations. She is void of all emotion and personality.
Kohaku Played By: Open
Kohaku is the brother of Sango and is around 11 years old. They are both youkai taijiya (demon exterminators) who come from the taijiya no mura (the exterminator's village).
Like his sister, he is well trained in battle. He uses a kusarikama (chained sickle) to fight. As strong as he is, he it still somewhat inexperienced compared to Sango.
When Sango, and the other exterminators went to destroy a nearby spider demon, Kohaku was brought for his first real demon hunt. After their task, Kohaku was possessed by the lord of the mansion. He was made to kill the other members of the exterminator tribe. Naraku was responsible for all of this, and he still controls Kohaku's mind.
It is up to Sango and the others to make Kohaku remember the truth, and to free him from the clutches of Naraku.

Koga Played By: Reserved
Koga is an ookami youkai (wolf demon), and the leader of the wolf demon tribe. Most of the wolves in the tribe appear to be everyday wolves, with the exception of Ginta and Hakkaku - Koga's loyal companions.
The tribe was almost completely wiped out once by Kagura, and Koga vowed revenge. This is one of the reasons for his eventual hatred for Naraku.
Koga is extremely fast and strong, partly because of the Shikon Jewel shards in his legs. His senses are very strong, much like Inuyasha. He also carries a sword, but rarely uses it.
When he first meets Kagome, he is mainly interested in her ability to see the shards of the Shikon Jewel. Like many demons, he would like to gain all of the shards.
Koga and Inuyasha do not always get along, especially since they both want to keep Kagome away from the other, but they do sometimes help each other in times of need.
Kikyo Played By: Open
Kikyo was the original protector of the Shikon Jewel. She would do anything she could to stop any demon who tried to gain it. As much as she hated demons, she and Inuyasha somehow become friends. He was special to her, and they both still have feelings for each other.
Naraku, wanting the Jewel for himself, tricked Inuyasha and Kikyo into fighting each other. Kikyo ended up shooting Inuyasha with her arrow, and binding him to a tree for 50 years. He was finally freed by Kagome, who he at first mistook to be Kikyo
Now that Kikyo has been resurrected, she is only still half human. She has her body, but her soul has been reincarnated into Kagome. She still has feelings for Inuyasha, and has no care for those that stand in her way.
She is a miko (priestess), and an expert with a bow and arrow. Like Kagome, she can create purifying arrows which destroy evil. Now that she is undead, she must gather souls to keep her form. She controls the Shinidama Chuu (soul-collecting demons) who help her with this task. They are almost always around her.
Kaede Played By: Open
Kaede is the younger sister of Kikyo, although she appears much older because Kikyo is undead and does not age.
She is a powerful priestess (though not as powerful as her older sister), and is quite knowledgeable about medicine and many other things. While she does not travel often with Inuyasha and the others, she does help them out when she is needed.
When Kikyo was dying, she wished to be burned with the Shikon Jewel so that she might prevent it from falling into the hands of evil. Fifty years has now passed, and Kaede is now the head of her village, and the first to realize the Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo. Soon after Inuyasha was free again, Kaede placed upon him a magical necklace. This was originally to prevent Inuyasha from trying to steal the Shikon Jewel from Kagome (who is the reincarnation of Kikyo). The necklace gives her the power to somewhat control Inuyasha. When she says the magic word 'sit' - Inuyasha instantly falls to the ground. She does this often.
Myoga Played By: Open
Myoga is a nomi youkai (flea demon) and has been a companion to both Inuyasha and his father for a very long time. He is quite knowledgeable, and often provides Inuyasha and the others with much needed information. He is also very fond of sucking blood from both humans and demons, which is usually an annoyance, but it can save those who have been poisoned.
During fights Myoga is not much use. He generally leaves at any sign of trouble. He was originally in charge of guarding the grave of Inuyasha's father, and he was the first to reveal its hidden location - in Inuyasha's eye. It is actually a portal to the grave itself.
Totosai Played By: Open
Totosai is the sword smith who forged the Tetsusaiga and Tenseiga, and then later the Toukijin. The first two swords were created from the fangs of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru's father. The Toukijin was forged from a fang of a demon who was able to break Inuyasha's Tetsusaiga.
The Tetsusaiga has the power to destroy 100 demons with a single blow, while the Tenseiga has the power to bring 100 creatures back to life. Sesshomaru finds it unfair that Inuyasha received the Tetsusaiga.
Aside from the ability to forge very powerful swords, Totosai can also breathe fire (which he does for protection, and for mending swords). He also rides on a magical three-eyed cow named MoMo (or mo-mo).
Ginta

Hakkaku
Played By: Open
Ginta and Hakkaku are members of Koga's wolf pack. They are not always the smartest, but they try to help Koga out and are very protective of the pack.
Ayame
Played By: Open
Ayame is a wolf demon who was rescued by Koga when she was very young. He promised her that one day he would come back and marry her once she grew up. When Koga meets up with Ayame again after many years, she still holds him to this promise, but he must first find Kagura, who destroyed his wolf tribe. He must avenge their death. Ayame is quite strong herself, and she can throw grass and leaves which can slice through demons. She once helps save Hakkaku and Ginta - two of Koga's friends. Later, her tribe is attacked and Koga comes to the rescue. This starts the Shichinintai saga. An interesting fact - Ayame was made specifically for the anime, and was not in the manga!
Hachi
Played By: Open
Hachi is a raccoon demon, who is friends with Miroku. He can transform himself, which while not very powerful, can be useful at times. He is rewarded by Miroku for his help. Hachi is a tanuki (a tanuki is a raccoon-like animal native to Japan, sometimes called a raccoon-dog). Miroku often gets Hachi to help him scam people to make money and get girls. He is often useful though, as he can change shape and transport others. He once even saved Miroku's life when he was attacked by Mushin.
Mushin
Played By: Open
Mushin took care of Miroku after his father's wind tunnel ended his life. Miroku visits him when returning to his old home, so that he can help him repair the damage done to his old wind tunnel after using it on many demons.
Jinenji
Played By: Open
Jinenji is a huge half-demon who, with his mother, grow healing herbs. At first, they mistake his mother for a yamanba (mountain witch). The herbs they make were once used to save the life of Kirara, who was poisoned by Naraku. Kagome and the others find him while passing through a village. Despite his monstrous looks, he is very mild and timid. He is accused of killing some of the villagers, but Inuyasha helps prove his innocense. Later, Jinenji ends up killing another demon - the one who was responsible for the missing villagers.
Koharu

Koharu is a young girl who works for Aburachouja-sama since she lost her family during a war. She meets Miroku after he is called to her village to perform an exorcism. He gives her some food and leaves, promising to come back for her. Three years later, Koharu is now 14 and she comes across the path of Miroku again. She asks to travel with Miroku and the others but they know that it cannot be. After talking to the village leader, Miroku arranges for him to take care of Koharu. As they are leaving once again, Koharu is stopped by Kanna who tries to steal her soul. Soon after, in her hypnotic state, she attacks Miroku who knocks her out. Once she awakens, she is back to normal and discovers that Miroku has left.
Kagome's Mother

The mother of Kagome and Sota. Almost everyone simply calls her "mama".
Higurashi Jii-chan
Played By: Open
Kagome's Grandfather is very knowledgable in tradition, and the history of the Shikon Jewel. He also knows about the mysterious well that sends Kagome back through time. It comes as no suprise to him when she tells him what she has seen. He is very interested in the stories Kagome tells him from her journey, and he gives her some helpful information.
Sota
Played By: Open
Sota is the Kagome's younger brother. He watches as she gets pulled into the well for the first time while she is trying to find his cat. After finally meeting Inuyasha, he becomes very fond of him, and sometimes even asks him for personal advice. Once Inuyasha tries to teach him how to be a good fighter.
Hojo
Played By: Reserved
Hojo is a student in modern day Japan and attends the same school as Kagome. He likes her very much and often gives her little gifts. Eri, Ayumi, and Yuka are always trying to talk Kagome into dating him, but it is hard since Kagome is often away.

Yuka

Eri, Ayumi, and Yuka are good friends of Kagome. They all go to school together in modern-day Tokyo. When Kagome is around, they are always asking questions about her mysterious boyfriend (Inuyasha). Kagome reveals some information, but not that he is a half demon in feudal Japan. They do meet him later however, and seem to approve. The three of them don't understand why Kagome is not interested in Hojo (a boy at their school who obviously likes her), but Kagome spends most of her time with Inuyasha and the others. In class, Ayumi always does well on tests, while Eri and Yuka often do badly. Kagome has to work hard to keep up since she has so little time to study.
