Echona sat on a tree branch feeling the wind against her face. She was not far from her home and Dinny had gone off exploring. She felt happy and light. She bent down her head and put her mouth to the tiny reed flute on her collar. As she bagan to blow, the forest echoed with the soothing melody. The birds seemed to chirp along with the soft tune. Echona felt as if she could play forever.
Andara sat by the lake, her hind paws dangling in the water. She had removed her helmet and headdress. Her Cerebus floated around her hammer and scale that were on the bank. She felt good to be here. She easily slipped into the water and sight as she swanm to invigorate herself. She had been wandering the mountains the past few day and she felt good to be back home and alone for once. The birds were on the other side of the forest which left her in peace.

A young male Eevee named Cohen was padding his way through the woods, looking for something interesting to do. There were a few humans camping about a mile in the direction he was heading away from, but he had stolen all of thier potato chips yesterday... Maybe he could climb and try to travel from one tree to another?
Suddenly, his purple-wrapped ears recieved the sound of a sweet melody. He looked around, impressed that the wild creatures had even decided to join in. 'Who's doing that?' he wondered as he used the full power of his legs to jump onto an unusually low pine branch.
On the other side of a lake, one of the newer Eevees of the region was taking a drink of the cool, clear water. The primarily white male held no items other than a tightly sealed envelope that he had brought from home. He had been having a bit of a rough time, considering that he hadn't yet found a place in which he and his sister could live. He wondered how she was doing back in their hometown, which was located in a forested area in the Johto region. With his mind drifting like it was, he didn't even notice Andara swimming in the lake's waters.

Echona continued the sing and looked about below her. She had gotten u on a higher branch. She saw a drk eeveee with purple bands and pink fluff jumping onto a pine branch not to far away. He looked familiar...but she couldnt quite remember the name. She finished the song, but the birds continued it, chirping softly along. She turned her head to the other eevee on the tree and called,"Hey!" Echona remembered his name with a jolt and called again, "Cohen! Up here!" Her voice was different from most, a strange tone to it and it alwayed echoed.
Andara came up and let out a loud sigh. She dove back down again and headed to the other side of the lake, unkowing of the other eevee on the lakeshore. She popped her head out of the water about two tail-lengths away. She had her eyes closed so had no idea of the fact she had company.

There was no mistaking that voice. It was that girl he had met when he was a kit, Echona. "Hey!" he called with a laugh, running along the branch to hop to one closer to the other Eevee. "How're you doing, Echona? I haven't seen ya in ages!" Cohen's tail waved back and forth as he tried to keep his balance, slowly getting closer and closer to Echona's location.
Makoto looked over as he heard the sound of splashing waters only to see a female emerging from the lake. He cocked his head to the side and said quietly, "Hello there, ma'am." He didn't want to keep his location secret in case she would discover him, only to think him a rude spy.

Echona smiled at Cohen's eagereness. She jumped down a couple of branches so it'd be easier for him to reach her. "Good to see you too. I've been pretty good," She replied happily before asking,"did you hear me playing?" She had always been a little shy of others hearing her play the tiny flute, even Dinny.
Andara's eyes fleww open and she whipped her head around to face the other with a fain hiss of surprise. She blinked then nodded, wide eyed. She hopped onto the bank and let the water run off her fur. A small winhe didnt like the cold too much but she enjoyed swimming.

((That bites. >P *kicks Gaia* That's why I always copy and paste my replies onto something before I submit... Don't trust the system, man! XD))
"Yeah, that was a really pretty song.... Did you play that with the thinger-mabob on your collar?" Cohen looked over to the tiny flute as he reached Echona's branch and sat down, purple-banded tail dangling over the side of the branch. His expression was one of surprise, and he was clearly impressed. "Sounds like the birds liked it, too!" he yipped, nodding to a small Taillow that was still whistling the melody.
Makoto's ears stiffned as Andara hissed, but he quickly calmed himself once more. Though it was an odd way for an Eevee to communicate, who was he to judge? "Are you alright?" he asked as she whined, not realizing that she had just stepped into the breeze after a swim.

Echona blushed. "Thanks...normally, I dont play in front of other eevees, but I'm glad you liked it. Yes, I played it with my tiny flute. Its complicated, but worth learning," Echona said, smiling.
"Y-yes," Andara half said, half hissed because of the cold. She let out a soft whistle and her scale came floating over. Her scale with the heart glowed and began to warm her fur. Se let out a faint sigh of relief at the warmth. "I'm fine," she said, swiveling her head to look at the other. He had an interesting design, but so did she.

"That's cool," he said with a smile. "Well, I guess you wouldn't have done it if ya knew I was here, right? Glad you didn't spot me!" Cohen laughed and looked down at the little flute. "Wow..." It was amazing to him that she could play something so small.
"So, anything major happen since I saw you last?" Even he didn't quite know what he was talking about, but he figured that the question would keep this pleasant conversation running.
"Okay then," Makoto said with a nearly unnoticable grin. He realized now that she had only been cold, as he could almost see the heat coming off of that heart. "Did you get those things from an envelope like this one?" he asked as he nodded towards her items and his letter one after another.

["Not much," Echona said with a shrug. "Same old, same old. Hey, do you ever wonder about things? Like...things in your future?" She asked, cocking her head. She wasnt sure why she had asked this but was eager for an answer. "Ever wonder where tou'll live or travel or meet or-" She cut herself off when she realized what she was about to say. A slight blush was invible beneath her dark coat, lucky for her.
Andara looked back over to the other eevee and nodded slowly. She gave a low whistle and her Cerebus heads picked up her items left on the other bacn and began to bring them over to where she was. As soon as they were over, she began adjusting her helmet on.

"I think about the future a lot," he said with a twitching smile. How could he not? At times, when he was taking all of those risky jumps and trying to sneak out of human houses with some random object, he wondered if he would even have a future, and what he would be missing if something did go wrong. But so far, Cohen had had good luck, and so all of that thinking had been for nothing.
"I've always thought I'd end up livin' in a box, always moving around... Which'd probably mean that I'd be alone. But I guess there's nothing wrong with that.... What about you?"
"Really? That's interesting... I wonder what is in mine..." Makoto put a paw onto his pinkish envelope, giving a feeble attempt to pry open the flap. It was still tightly sealed, however, and he gave up. He looked back at Andara, and wondered briefly how many items he would eventually be getting.

For some reason, she felt a small bitter pang of regret. She quickly shook it off and answered. "I guess I always thought I'd be here with Dinny and we'd live together as we have as kits, meeting passerby and all...Dinny and I have always considered each other brother and sister...He found me after the attack...." Echona trailed off as the bitter horrible memories of her early kithood flooded back. A tear threatened to come as she couldnt shake the memories, but she managed to press on. "He found me after and we basically became family. But I've always wondered if theres realy is an eeveee out there for evryone, and if so, mine fell down hole." She lauged, bushing away the gory memories.
Andara slowly turned back around to him asfter applying all her items. She looked bigger now, and more threataning. But her face was still solid, stone cold withut emotion. "There is another eevee I know who has one of those letters." Strangley, she didnt hiss these words as she usually did to strangers.

Cohen blinked, a little confused. What attack could she possibly be talking about? He was actually tempted to ask. Normally, though, he knew that mentioning things that sounded like that hurt feelings or brought up an awkward conversation, so he decided not to mention it.
"Yeah, I know what ya mean. With my luck, mine's waiting for me somewhere... Somewhere I just don't happen to be going to." A little smile spread across his purple face again as he resituated on the branch.
Her imposing appearance didn't intimidate or frighten the male at all. He figured that there wasn't much he had to fear from Andara unless he offended her in some way, which he didn't intend to do. But Makoto was a little surprised to hear Andara's voice coming through clearly for the first time. "Oh, really? ... Have they been able to open theirs?" The white and green Eevee glanced once again to his envelope, but then looked back up to the other with a slight smile.

"Thats life for ya," Echona said, flicking her tail, a reckless glint in her eyes, her past now fogotten. "Every tree raced, Cohen?" She asked. This was an activity she had done many a time before by herself, chasing bird when she was happy. It was a game she would like to play with another eevee for once.
"I'm not sure, but shes been tugging at the thing like mad! Its a a wonder she hasnt ripped it!" She said, her eyes glinting. Her cerebus heads circled her while she said this until she narrowed her eyes at one and hissed. They istantly stopped, zipping back into place, whipering slightly.

"Nah," Cohen said, shaking his head. His smirk only grew as he thought of how exciting that sounded. "I'd be more than willing to try it out, though. Sounds fun! Hehehe...." He flexed his paws and looked around, his heart paunding in his chest.
Makoto flicked his tail and chuckled. "Well, I guess that ripping it might be bad, even if it is technically a way to open it up... It's relieving to know, though, that I'm not the only one having problems with it." He nodded and watched the commotion with the Cerberus heads, and his ears drooped. It may be annoying having a creature like that following you constantly.
