On the door is a simple sign saying: "Room 2-14: Sorce's room". Beneath that is a slightly larger but equally discreet sign saying: "Magitech Enterprises, Limited. Closed during class hours, appointments not necessary. We're the magic of the 21st century."
The room itself was simple, and lightly furnished. There's a central table for meals recessed into the floor, while the simple kitchen contains a microwave, a stove, and a chest-type freezer and a small fridge. The bed is raised above a plain desk, which has a computer (there is no brand or logo, only a scribble saying 'Magitech X77'). Under the window is a drawing board, a sheet of paper taped onto it, with a lamp clamped onto one side. The loft above the kitchen has been converted into a work area. Various pieces of electronics, tools, and consumables like soldering silver are mixed in with focusing crystals, potions ingredients, and other cheap magical knick-knacks. There is also a lamp and a mounted magnifying lens. A framed graduation certificate takes pride of place, although it is surrounded by rough drawings with scribbled notes, blueprints with headings inevitably involving the word 'experimental', and lots of pieces of paper with ideas for new spells. Everywhere there are freestanding piles of books which indicate the kind of person who's always planning to buy shelves but never gets around to it. There are runes all over the place which shield it from telepathic and magical spying, making a very secure room. The window is barred and equipped with both a magitech keypad and an electric shock unit. Someone is very paranoid...
For some bizarre reason, there is a lava-lamp in the corner, and various anime figurines litter the spots not taken up by books. The walls are nearly invisible in equal parts anime posters and sheets of paper with seemingly random scribbles on them. Not even the bathroom has escaped the bizarre decorating: it sports an LCD tablet connected to the computer in front of the toilet, while protective ofuda, wards and amulets from dozens of religions and magical communities litter the room. Apparently, no one wants a repeat of scenes from Dark Water, The Grudge or Ghostbusters 2...

Came from Boy's Common Room Entry # 00094 Sorce looked around the room and grinned. It was amazing how he'd managed to give the room a lived-in look in only a scant few minutes. After taking a bath and getting changed, he was readying his old clothes for cleaning when he suddenly found a Pactio card in one of the pockets. Remembering he'd promised to give it back to Areshanderu, he decided to drop it off... [exit to Areshanderu's room]

Came from Daisuke's Room Entry # 00100(WOOT!) rofl Entering his room, Sorce quickly climbed up to his loft work-area and plunked down his staff. Taking a specially-made power tool of his own design, he quickly dismantled it... Opened up, it was a beautiful piece of work. Magical crystals and catalystic fluids lay side-by-side with wires, motors and servos. Sorce didn't have time to appreciate it, having it seen it all before in all his designs. Opening one of the drawers to the side, he drew out a blade... Some minutes later-- Sorce worked quickly under stress-- the last seal was closed, and Sorce looked appreciatively at his upgraded staff. A push of a button caused a foot-long blade to shoot out one end, while two more caused fire and electricity to crackle around it. It probably wasn't a good idea to test the flame-thrower feature indoors though... Nodding grimly to himself, Sorce opened the window and flew off on the staff. His destination: LIBRARY ISLAND! came from Library Island Entrance Entry # 00119 Sorce entered his room, deactivating his various security measures and reactivating them on entry. It was definitely no fun to be hit by 10,000 volts of electricity. Checking his messages, he noted the announcement for the Budokai. He'd applied to it, but hadn't really expected to accepted, much less win. The analyst paid special attention to the rules, before looking at his staff and frowning. "I guess I'll need to work on this for the tournament..." he muttered, before getting his personalized power tools and getting to work...

Entry # 00120 After several hours of intense work, Sorce finally put down his heavily remodified staff. All the catalysts and magical-- well, most of them, anyway-- had been removed to make it Budokai legal. The blade, flamethrower, power tools and electric weapons were gone too. However, it was far from wussy. He'd added a chain in the center haft so it could become a flail-type weapon, and put more weights on the business and so that it made a good mace. All in all, pretty painful. He'd already resolved to reconstruct the staff's original configuration as another staff (there was no rule against mages having more than one, after all). Getting some pipping, and cracking his knuckles, Sorce got to work...

Entry # 00121 Eventually, he managed to recreate the original staff prototype, then invested a couple more hours making it better. Now besides the wand-function, tazer, flashlight, screwdriver, drill, blow torch, small blade, foot-long spear-type blade at one end that can be wreathed in fire and/or electrified, and flamethrower, there was now a grappling hook and an emitter specially designed to be powered by his magic and produce a black scythe-blade, as well as being slimmer and lighter, despite still being usable as a club. Hey, he might as well go all out with the upgrade, right? Satisfied for the moment, at least until inspiration struck again, Sorce reached for a motorcycle helmet under the desk, as well as a box full of the protective padding dirt-bikers wore...

Entry # 00122 Sighing, Sorce finally put down his power tools. It had been a long night. The padding he'd merely upgraded with simple insulated-metal armor-plating, since he didn't have the resources for anything fancier. The helmet, however... Sorce had to smile. He'd pimped it out so much every sentai team in existence would envy it. He'd increased it's field of vision so that it could see as far as he could turn his eyes, as well as installing air-conditioning in it and making it air-tight, with it's own air-filtration system and air-supply. He'd also connected one of his old starter wands into it so the helmet itself could be used as 'wand' in case of emergencies. The visor had been replaced with a diamond-tough special material that had used up a lot of his savings (but had been well worth it) that acted as a display for the scanner he'd installed. The scanner was a low-level analysis spell that would alert him to most unpleasant surprises-- such as, say, invisible force fields-- as well as function as a targeting and threat-identification system, as well as allowing him to see in nearly ALL light conditions. He'd even added a another shock emitter to the helmet in case he had an opportunity to use it as a weapon and headbutt someone! And he STILL hadn't run out of ideas for it!!! But that was for another time, when he had more rest and more resources. Heading for bed, not bothering to get changed, Sorce fell asleep...

Entry # 00123 Sorce finally woke up. It had been a good night's sleep, although that dream about being chased by a giant carrot had been weird. Taking a quick shower and changing his clothes (another set of his 'mage clothes'), he stuffed all the gear he'd made the night before and headed out to breakfast. [exits to Chao Bao Xi]

Came from Astronomy Tower Entry # 00164 Entering his room, Sorce quickly deactivated the security field on the door. He took the time to cast his shield spell over the windows, covering them with a layer of alternating darkness, black lightning, and arcs of electricity. Let's see any assassin try and shoot through that! Mindful of the fact that the assassin seemed able to disappear at will, Sorce activated the proximity warning on the door. If anyone, visible or not, dead or alive, tried to enter, he'd know about it... loudly. After quickly laying out all the medical gear he had-- there was a ridiculous amount of it, which would surprise anyone who was not familiar with the highly dangerous world of magi-tech research-- he pulled some of his lead pipes, mallet and baseball bats out of his pouch, slipped on the electrified knuckles Ren had lost (he'd managed to send one of his Nocturna constructs to find it on the way from the Tower), and waited for the others to arrive. He hoped they were not intimidated by the fact he had 107 magic arrows of assorted elements hovering between him and the door in case he needed to shoot someone in a hurry...

"Looks like they're still talking over at the Tower" he said, looking around. Placing his hand on the door knob, he opened the door.
"Good, I have some demands this kid might find funny..."

Entry # 00165 The door's entry notification alarm went off, and Sorce tensed, ready to rain 14 kinds of elemental pain if the person coming in was the wrong one (which would be quite an achievement, since mages have only yet discovered 10 kinds of elemental pain). He relaxed when he saw it was merely the new teacher and-- more importantly, in his view-- potential customer. "Oh, it's only you Mr. Falconer," he said in perfect English. "Would you mind stepping out of the way of the door please? I'd really like the chance to blast that assassin chick to oblivion for trying to kill me, and I'd rather you didn't get in the way of that chance. Let me congratulate you, by the way. You're the first person to visit my room." Sorce gestured Boyd towards an out of the way chair that allowed the analyst to watch both him and the door. "You implied you might have some business for me?"

Boyd looked around, taking in the spells and general look of the room.
"Nice, very nice. Smart kid, setting up a defense already. Little paranoid though..."
He smiled slightly, before taking off his watch.
"This here is a magic device, capable of switching to a staff and back. In my opinion, a basic staff like that isn't enough and I'd like you to add a little more to it, while still maintaining its ability to revert back to a watch." He smiled. "Blow torch, lightsaber maybe, shotgun, sniper rifle, assault rifle and a reloading system are basically all I need.
As for Ren however, I'm going to let her keep my old staff, though I'd like you to change it into something of more use for her, seeing as she can't do magic. Sword, shield whatever. You'll have to ask her"
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a checkbook and pen.
"I'll give you a deposit of $100,000 for trying to do this, and I'll give you another 500K if you actually accomplish it. Along with that, if you'll like I could send recommendations to certain military groups who are in need of something like this. Potential fortune there."
"What do you say?"

Entry # 00166 Sorce wasn't too impressed by the numbers. He'd actually been paid a lot more before-- although to be honest, it really didn't happen much. "Let's say I'm interested," Sorce said, holding out his hand and accepting the watch that was placed there. He resisted the urge to analyze it then and there. "I will, of course, need to know the details of this item so that I wouldn't have to completely break it down to scratch parts. Is it magic or technology? While there are people out there that purport to be able to mix both, I've always found they tend to be too reliant on one or the other." "The job itself is easy enough, but I'm drawing the line at one gun. I'm not in the business of making weapons of mass destruction for governments here." He blissfully ignored the drawings on the walls, most of which were more or less designed to be exactly those.

[came from Astronomy Tower]
"Hey there Sorce-san, here's the body of Yamaji-san. Mizumaru-san woke up and apparently wants us to go start the match right away. Okay, good luck with your research." Zero said as he dropped off the unconscious Yamaji-san and exited the room.

Boyd watched Zero come and go before answering his question.
"One gun? Sure, okay. I'll take just the sniper. As for what it is...its a strange mixture of both I suppose. It's an intelligent device, it talks, it responds to certain scenarios in what it believes is the best way.
It stores memory stuff so on and so forth. Of course, its still just a test weapon, and we're still looking for improvements. I know people who owe me favors and i can probably get any mage out there one of these. Probably."
"As I said, it has the ability to revert to a weapon and back. Usually people pick objects that are pretty common, seen everyday some what. Some have rings, necklaces, watches"
He gestured to his watch.
"And so on. This is new age stuff, things mages normally won't see for another 20 years or so.
He sat back, watching Sorce still looking at the watch.
"I'll give you as much time as you need, to analyze the watch, maybe try and find out something for your self. All I want is an operational staff back with everything I asked for."
"Staff form" Boyd called out to the watch.
There was a flash of light and where the watch was, a staff replaced it.
"Have fun"
With that he got up, and left the room, muttering something about groceries
