Richard: sweet, innocent, hateful, angry, confused, greedy, unaccepting. The list goes on. He can't deal with his half of the triumverate--giving up some of his wolf to Anita, taking some of her anger, and what did he get from Jean-Claude? Acceptance to an extent? Naked Puppy Pile needy?
He got his lycanthropy from an injection that was supposed to keep him from Getting lycanthropy. That really has to suck. He's been trying to cope with the fact that he hasn't been human, but add that to wanting to have Anita all to himself--not sharing her with Anyone--and to the anger he got from her. . . he's totally screwed.

I used to like Richard, infact he was one of my favourite men from the series. Unfortunately is turned a little to Emo for my tastes. I hate people that are overly undecisive anyway, but not being able to decide wether he wants love Anita or not, or live or not gets annoying.
I suppose there had to be one of the guys who disagreed with the whole Anita plus multiple lovers setup. I personally prefer Nathaniel, one because I think he'd be oh so pretty, and two he's submissive but nowadays he's learning to grow some balls.
Meh, none of them can be perfect, can they?

I agree. He used to be great but now he's really unable to control his anger/beast because of that triumverate. It's too bad.
I still think Jean-Claude got Anita's fear.

I can understand Richards feelings towards anita. She went to "not going to have sex until marriage" to ******** everyone. In all honestly, she starts sounding like a whore in the last few novels.
BUT, I don't understand the way he treats himself and his pack because of it. It's like he's punishing everyone but anita for feeling betrayed. ******** every woman he see's, beating up on the lower pack members. He's just really becoming an a**.

In all honestly, she starts sounding like a whore in the last few novels. BUT, I don't understand the way he treats himself and his pack because of it. I think he just needs a damn good dominant lupa. Someone who's so at ease with her beast that he could learn from, and she could be on top during sex. 3nodding

The thing is, since we see Richard through Anita's eyes, he becomes annoying. What Anita hasn't realized is that if Richard weren't around at all many many bad things would've happened.
Sure, Richard can't cope with his beast... Because he's too damn stubborn to accept the fact that it's a part of him as well. Guess he's not quite over the fact that because of the Lycanthropy serum gone bad, he is now terminally furry.
I used to like Richard a lot... and I honestly don't know why Laurell K. Hamilton is putting him in such a hateable position...

I want to say that the Harlequin had some part in it, though it seems a little blame-game. He was having a worse time for awhile, and she saw the Harlequin working through someone else, knew they could enhance emotions. Would Richard really stoop to hurting Anita? The guy loves her, and she gave him his chance, but he was in some pain near the end of the book and couldn't take it.
I was picturing Edward and Olaf standing around them during a hugfest, Sailor Moon hand-holding, asking for something to shoot! XD
Olaf'll be back, too.
What about angry Dolph?

Dolph really knows how to push my buttons. The big red buttons you're not supposed to push.
His hate is blinding him from his job which he took to protect the innocent. Just because you have fangs, or turn furry once a month doesn't make you a monster. it makes him a monster for seeing them like that and letting them die.
Damn Dolph... he should be infected with Lycanthropy! =o

He and Richard can have a small group of hate for themselves. It'll be great. -_-;;;
I hope a conclusion can be made within the next few books. Who knows, maybe Laurell will decide to terminate his contract with the company. I agree that he has some footing on the "Anita has turned into a whore" idea, but he's probably mostly angry because she's a better monster than he is. Little green eyes [jealousy] always makes an appearance.

x-Marmee Noir-x Damn Dolph... he should be infected with Lycanthropy! =o I think that would serve him right. It's comletely ridiculous that he hasn't been taken off the RPIT unit. He's acting like a giant, father-like a**!
