CREED
To love is to learn
To hate is to wonder why
Living denies death
But regretting denies life
The lesser of two evils
Is not always the clearest path
The greater of two goods
Isn’t always from the heart
Joy isn’t a gift, it’s a right
Hate isn’t an accident, but a choice
Envy is a want
Love is a need
Affluence defines society
Society defines you
A person’s definition of wealth defines them
Money doesn’t buy happiness
Scars aren’t always simple
There can be stories to tell
Visible or not
They still hold the same feeling
Wise men may speak
And wise woman may agree
But the wisest of all
Will act for thee
A Coffin of White for Innocence
I put pen to paper but the ink doesn’t flow
I’ll ask a million questions yet I’ll never know
Laying deep beneath the crisp white sheets
Counting as they went, counting your heart beats
A knife in your hand a whole in your heart
Your love, your death, it hit me like a dart
A coffin of white for innocence
The blood ran free the sheets turned red
They turned away and shook their heads
I held your hand as you cried
I watched your soul slip away as you died
A man never stands as tall as when he kneels to help a child
An animal is never free unless they are wild
A coffin of white for innocence
They read out your name on the evening news
“Love thy neighbour, don’t abuse”
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned
Until the end will you be mourned
They lined the streets with their silent tears
To them you were a conqueror, a slayer of fears
A coffin of white for innocence
I bow my head and let emotions run free
Didn’t you know you’d always be “the one” for me?
My heart is heavy, my eyelids like lead
This pain I can’t bear, this pain of the dead
The ink’s running dry so now I must go
But before I do I think you must know…
A coffin of white for innocence
Does anything in this world make sense?
Authenticity
I sit here and think
I read my words, all lies
The only truth I know,
Is one where everyone dies
Because eventually
All shall end
And when it does
Will it matter which morals I bend?
I keep my mouth shut
I do as they say
I do the same damn thing
Every single day
If it weren’t for rays of sunshine
Like the friends I’ve got
Then I wouldn’t be writing this
I wouldn’t be here, more likely than not
Things have happened
To my soul, and mind
Things I must keep
Things, my heart does bind
Imagines are burned
In my skull forever more
You never meant to do it
Yet you went and broke the law
Things we have all
Done and not said
Things we have kept
Forever in are head
This is what you share
With the one you love
This is what makes
A person unique
Forever Friends
The say friends are forever
I say friends are like the weather
Coming and going as they please
Bringing you down on your knees
They say they’ll always be there
They say they’ll follow you anywhere
A river runs free
Yet why can’t we?
A thousand scars I must bear
But why should you care?
Airplanes fly high and low
Watch the blood, watch it flow
Feel my hand upon your face
Feel the power of my race
A sign is written in the stars
Alcohol, it comes from bars
Signs are made of everything
I’d prefer a tattoo to a diamond ring
Listen to your skull as it cracks
Listen to the vocals on that track
The sound of pain is all too sweet
I love the sound of a steady beat
You wonder, is this poem is for you
You’ll never know what to do
Screw the world or at least one part
Take the knife, plunge it deep within my heart
A trail of red oozes out
They give a cry, they scream and shout
And now that I’ve come to the end
Do you still wish to be my friend?
In The Eyes of a Child
I am so lost and incomplete
I feel as if I’m half a written on sheet
If I die before you do
I'll go to heaven and wait for you
I'll give the angels back their wings
Risk the loss of everything
Just to prove my love is true
I’ll hold my breath and wait for you
I’ll dream of moments when life was sweet
And meet a bird and say ‘tweet tweet’
I’ll wave hello you way goodbye
You sit right there, I’ll waltz right by
I’ll dance to music you can’t hear
I’ll fight something only you can fear
I’ll baffle the world with my words
I never ever do thing in thirds
Half by half and half again
Should I allow myself to explain?
As the blood drips down your shirt
You know should have been alert
Remember as I kiss you goodnight
That this is nor the end nor the fight
This is the middle of all there was
The middle and end, all and because
I am a cryptic, crossword if you like
Dress me I leather and call me a dyke
Twelve plus one, eleven plus two
Room for me, no soup for you
No sense do these words make
No fields or herds or a single lake
I need to show who I am, and what I be
I need to feel and freedom isn’t free
Guns go bang bang, bombs go boom
Come upstairs and see my room
I’ll hold your hand I won’t let go
We’ll surf the wind and swim in snow
My words, they flow, all the same
No beat or purpose to maintain
Rain
Metallic snakes run down the window panes
The glass shines with a renewed beauty
Puddles expand and cover the ground
Like a veil of crystal, shimmering forever
Children are everywhere, having there fun
Because this will only last so long
As the sun doesn’t shine
We all lap up the chance to splash around like them
And for those few minutes we are all equal
For once no one seems to care
Who you are or what you have done
For when the sky cries the world washes clean
Memories disappear, chased away by belief
Sins are forgotten and once more we can dream
And as the metallic snakes move forward
Gathering an army, yet leaving some behind
A rainbow of colours shoots out from the sky
And we all stare in wonder
As colours appear from almost nowhere
For we have all become children
And as a child you can find beauty and wonder in all
Tears
Tears slide down my face unbidden
The clock ticks slowly by
I look now upon new wounds so well hidden
I sit here and think of why
Yes I did put the metal to my skin
I stood and watched the blood run free
I was numb, my light was dim
I needed to feel to make sure I was me
I know this pain, I know this hurt
I’ve felt it all before
You treating me worse than dirt
It will not happen anymore
I can stand up and fight
I can try to explain
I can’t be the only one to make it all right
I can’t be the only one to feel the pain
Stars I see are everywhere
Floating around my head
You took my heart and laid it bare
So now I lay here dead
I write without pace
I write without beat
I hate that look on your face
It’s a sign of defeat
It is you I chose
From the start to the end
Even if it means I lose a best friend
Go Back
I am so sorry, I truly am
From me to you, your biggest fan
You didn’t walk away, you stayed close
You didn’t desert me, when I needed you most
I am so weak, and I always will be
But I have you for support, and you have me
I love you so much, and I need you to know
I love too much, to ever really go
I wish I could go back
Take back what I’ve done
So that you would never know
So that she wouldn’t have won
You are amazing, you are unique
A future without you just looks so bleak
It's like we're all the way down the bottom and they're up the top
They're happy and cheerful, and we're just not
Happy Fluffy Bubble World isn’t for us
To still me alive to this day is an added plus
I can rock’n’roll, I can count to three
But I need you here to do it, to be me
I wish I could go back
Take back what I’ve done
So that you would never know
So that she wouldn’t have won
I thought I was protecting you by hiding the truth
I thought maybe you would hate me, desert me for my youth
My ignorance wasn’t bliss
I need you do know this pain still exists
But you made it better, it’s almost gone
That’s why I’m writing you this letter, using brain instead of brawn
I wish I could go back
Take back what I’ve done
So that you would never know
So that she wouldn’t have won
Dreamscape
A place of broken homes and dreams
A place were nothing is as seems
A place where I feel free and alive
A place for you to learn to dive
A place of purple trees and golden streams
A man waits along the bank searching for his life
Waiting for her to come back to him, his pretty little wife
She will never come back to him
She took endless track to ol’ Saint Jim
A place of purple trees and golden streams
Nowhere is far away
Everything changes once a day
Nothing ever happens here
Nothing is a lot of things
A place of purple trees and golden streams
I met a boy who told me things
Of the outside world
And a home of rings
He sang me the sweetest lullaby
In a place of purple trees and golden streams
I met a girl wondering a lonely path
She took my hand and I took hers
She whispered of long days and short nights
Whispers of foreign ways and warish fights
In a place of purple trees and golden streams
At nightmare corner I sang my song
It turns out I had it all wrong
You would never find me here
And so I shed a silent tear
In a place of purple trees and golden streams
Hunger
(Inspired by First They Killed My Father)
Hunger, fear and starvation
All for the sake of ruling a nation
My spirit is gone, my hands are numb
How could anyone be this cruel, or this dumb?
Whilst the birds fly free and high
I sit alone and think of why
Families separated and torn apart
There’s a hole, where once lay my heart
First they killed my father
They separated us, one and another
I reach for him but he fades from sight
I lay awake; I can’t sleep through the night
My head is hollow, my stomach bare
How could anyone think this fair?
To make us work and feed us none
To make us sweat all day under the sun
Western culture was your hate
But why did you have to choose our fate?
Guns shoots still echo in the walls of my mind
I have trouble some nights; peace is something I cannot find
I find the world seems to have forgotten
Pain and suffering, the world was rotten
It was a time of each for their own
Men and women, each dog and its bone
Nothing was, safe nothing was sacred
It was a time of greed and hatred
Parents without children, mothers without milk
I thought I’d never again know the touch of silk
Children haunt my memories, scars on their faces
You made sure we knew where we belonged; you kept us in our places
My life is a sad story, one that will eventually end
But I am here to tell you so that it will never be so again
Black and Blue Treasure
Black and blue treasure
Haunt the beyond of night
Hear the soaring rhythms in the distance
Colliding all around them, just don’t follow
Tears like rain, on a drought stricken face
Pain like water over fresh wounds
You feel the scars that may never heal
I’ll hold your hand through all the gloom
You cry out in the dark of night to them
A simple white flag held high above
A wondering soul forever and always
Speaking so loudly with simple gestures
The only wish you seek to fulfil
Is one of an age quite old
To love someone with all your heart
And for the feeling to be returned
Maybe leaves so much to be desired
A question forever hanging in the air
Knowing the answer isn’t always a gift
So much can tip the balance of our future
What would send you over the end, shall fade
You will become the being you want to be
And who shall be there for you then
Black and blue treasure
Breeze of Memories
The world looks different when viewed through a foggy film
The grass seems lifeless, the sky disappears
Noise surrounding a lonely soul
We hath execute the game of cat and mouse
Somehow the wind does not seem to whisper up here
The rain never seems to make it to shore
The letters stopped coming such a long time since
Time does knock upon the ever opened door
A breeze of memories that never quite stops
Separating curtains and removing dust from her intellect
Candle flames that lick and caress
Wood but creaks, and bends, and melts
The lonely soul in her only clean dress
Watches as her soul flies out the closed pathway
All that’s left is the flesh and bone
The blood had dried up a long while gone
Divulge what you are but blind to
Mayhap the fog shall lift one day
Who knows when wind will begin to whisper up here?
Cleaning away the ashes over time
All they can do is go where directed
Happy not to make a choice of their own
They carry her lonely soul so very far
Until see forgets, who they even are
The world did forget this one lost soul
In her only clean dress
Whose home was a pile of ash carried by the wind?
And whose name the wind shall whisper for eternity
Along a breeze of memories
At last she may fly free
Redemption
Running forever in a satin gown
Running forever from her faith
Running forever from her life
Wrapped in blindness and indecision
This is the path she chooses
So she shall lock up what she once let free
And you shall be the cause or her insanity
The truth hurt before and it shall again
So never mean what you cannot say
For it is useless if it is not known
She shall hide and hate herself
You will never know why for
But she will regret it every day
And she will maybe love again
That day when comes the rain
So when the rains come again
To dull and contain that fire within her
You shall be the rain, and she shall love you
And he shall be the fuel for that fire
But the fuel will run out one day
But she will have those that help
And those that hinder
She will fall and fall again
And rise above all that is in her way
And maybe she will heal
And one day he might understand
That this world will only ever be
A playground for himself and her
And maybe one she we will see
The little kids they use to be
How the pain she feels is so raw
And how the hurt that was caused
Set her on the road to redemption
For we learn from our mistakes
And we grow with the pain that follows
Simplicity
Remember once the world was blue?
And the lakes and oceans met the sky?
Then the colour spread through it
And we all learned to fly
He saw that it was bad
He laughed at all he had created
He thought we wouldn’t last this long
You saw that he was harm
For this is the world we all are stuck with
And these are the lies we live
For you see there is no He above
And I am who I choose to be
The Colour of Eyes
Hints of shade and tints of frost
Looks of sadness letters of loss
Words and souls of rhyme
Rhythms and moments in time
Hearts of colour and of glass
Movements so very quick and fast
Brush strokes on a page fresh and new
Sky twinged grey with streaks of blue
Gloves of brilliant red caress
Love like a god, maybe a little less
Dress of rain drapes all together
Head of fire, the wildest weather
Sounds as effective as silence
Pain as hurtful as violence
Song as sweet as the essence of life
A brain as sharp as the blade of a knife
The Never Given Letter
Handed over for the better
Wisest of all the trees are the elms of old
Tall and wise and somewhat bold
Promises on paper and taken by hand
A soul wishing for what has been banned
Lingering a memory, corners of a mind
A lies so twisted it renders us blind
The end of a chapter neatly rolled up
With none of the beauty of a new born pup
Naming is the hard part
But making them feel becomes an art
LOOK
Look at me, standing here
My arm is itching
I need sunlight, take my soul
Raise me from the floor
Let me not sleep, but awake
There is no time like the present
At least that is what was said
Yesterday could have been
Tomorrow holds the answers
Today will be but a memory
That image is burned into my brain
One so deep and meaningful
You and I were never meant to be
Who writes the rules?
Would you find out for me?
Creation isn’t my game
It’s mutation for me
With words and names
I play my games
Would anyone like to join me?
Childhood Dream
I want to go back to when we were just kids
When our dreams were reality
We had no restrictions or closed lids
Where we played gamed like ‘tiggy’ and ‘grown up’
Where things like that seemed far away
I want to be able to hold you again
To feel like we did before
To have freedom and innocence
But that disappeared a long time ago
And now these things come at a price
I think I’ll hide from the world for a while
I’ll run away, join the circus
I’ll be the one in the darkest shade of red
But life in itself it a circus
So tell me, where’s the fun in that?
I wish we could go back to when we were just kids
When our dreams were reality
When ever day was almost dream-like
And most importantly
Where we were free
Help Me
Stuck in a world of problems and anger
Stuck in a world overrun with danger
Help me sleep
Help me stop
Help me slip into eternity
What can do I do?
What can I say?
Today it’s just the same thing
You’re breaking my heart the same old way!
I used to be me
Young and carefree
I’d want wanted
I’d see who I would see
Then you decided to dictate
Shove me around
Tell me what to do
And I let you
Stuck in a world of nonsense
Stuck in a world unappreciated
Help me please
Help me breathe
Help me be the one I want
Just another promise
Just another lie
Well I don’t need it anymore
Its time to say bye
So I take my razor
I take my wrist
I press harder and harder
It goes deeper and deeper
The blood pours out all over my floor
And I keep doing it and doing it
Until I feel no more
And I am free
Stuck in a world of problems and anger
Stuck in a world overrun with danger
Help me sleep
Help me stop
Help me slip into eternity
Words of Wisdom
Once I was a little babe
A child of two or three
My father whispered in my ear
This is what he said do me:
When you stand tall and you’re all grown up
Sometimes things won’t go your way
But don’t despair dear child
Just stay to fight another day
Once I was a young lady
Of age, not quiet yet
My mother whispered in my ear
That her words were true, I’d be willing to bet
All women of this they know
Men shall come and men shall go
They will be gentle they will be kind
But the one you want can make up his own mind
Once I was an old grey hair
And on my own at last
I’ll tell you now
So listen close because I’ll tell it fast
There are no words I know
Not a single bloody one
That rhymes with orange
Now I am done
Catalyst
I just dreamed another twisted night
I must have done so a hundred times
I dreamt of what a perfect world would be like
Of no pain or hunger, no wars or fright
They have misled me yet again
Saying yea and meaning nay
I wish to cut the strings that bind me
I use a knife of muscle with a handle made of heart
Yet all I ever seem to do is fray them slightly
I seem to wish the impossible
I seem to dream what I may never have
So I keep inside as do they
And we all put it away until today
A catalyst comes and the snow begins to roll
The ball keeps bigger and it gets bigger and bigger
Until at last it stops, halted by an obstacle
And the ball like myself, has no choice
It crumbles silently, and no one ever knows
For when they pester and question my own
When the pins drive through my eyes
They do not simply pierce my brain
Those pins go straight to my soul
And when I am corrected
Upon things I know are right in my soul
And when I am told and expected
To control what I may never as a rule control
I become like that balls of snow
I see it in my dreams, rolling and growing
And I feel it whilst I am awake
It is for ever knowing
It is forever the while growing
(16/03/0 cool NEW POEM
Hello all,
here is a relatively new entry to my collection, hope you enjoy. I am, as of yet, unsure what to title it. Only offer suggestions if you feel the need.
Spreading her wings she soars
Lifting his eyes, he gawks
Majesty and beauty
Float above this barren Earth
As he wipes his sword clean
His brethren slap him on the back
He laughs along, through the pain
And the blood encrusted filth
She makes friends with the clouds
She knows the wind like no other
Yet there is a space in her mind
That wonders the plains
He watches the world
As he knows it unfold
She watches the beauty
And wonder grow old
They yearn for more
Then the lives what were given
And the souls of their worlds
Know naught else but this
He finds a night
He thinks he may trust
And sneaks out covered
By this night’s lust
For the sun it never sees
Just as the maiden who soars
And her battled hardened kenight
Are about to meet for the first time
Fate interferes, as fate is divine
Time stands still, and he finds the highest peak
And she soars as low as she may
There is no morning, or night
That fifth day of war
Then urgency emerges
When the arrow shoots forth
Hark, the maiden falls
And the knight is condemmed
