hey guys! wasn't this year's shimakon so much funn?!!?!?!!
yeahhhhh..? well, i didn't really care to hear an answer, so allow me to continue.
I'm sure everyone has one or two stories to share about their personal Shimakon experience, i know i have plenty :]
The purpose of this thread is to share with all of us whatever funny or wacky tales you may have of Shimakon 2007!
And guys, let's try to keep away from the drama llama, no need for THAT. At least...not in this thread

Elevator Incident 1
Alright, so Jacob and I had to head into the main hotel to get some ice for the Kon-Suite Gatorade. As we were on our way down, a fellow cosplayer entered the elevator, 'No-Face' from 'Spirited Away'.
After he entered, we continued our descent towards the first floor, but at around the 5th floor, a small group of 'girls' entered the elevator. The main one, whom i will refer to as 'Danny', screamed all dramatically at the sight of 'No-Face'
(poor No-Face..)
As it turned out, the girls were all actually guys, part of the 'Splash' event. (it became apparent what they were almost instantly)
"Oh gosh, I probably scared him more than he scared me!" Danny had exclaimed, as Jacob and I glanced at each other trying not to laugh.
We continued heading down, and stopped at the 2nd floor, where alot of Shimakon was happening. one of the 'ladies' exited, and Danny exclaimed 'Oh my gawd it's a freak show, quick, close the door, close it close it!!" as 'she' frantically kicked at the doorway, as if to keep out the 'freak show'.
(the laughter was getting ready to burst out of me at this point)
"So what are you guys here for?" Danny asked, looking towards Jacob.
"We're with the freak show." Jacob grinned
At which we all laughed. then we reached floor one and all separated.
That is one of my most fondest moments of Shimakon, running into that tranny. I'd been having a crappy morning, and that event had just helped me out alot. That laugh felt great, and i had really needed it. I am gratefull to 'Danny' for that. Never again will i look at trannys as strangely. 3nodding

Well... I remember a similar story Robbie... Me, You & Jacob were in the elevator, going to the Green Room on the 10th Floor. On the 9th Floor... a "guy" was about to enter & I mentioned to him... "We are going up"... he didn't care & proceeded to get in. He was wearing TIGHT boxer brief type shorts/swimsuit (not sure which) & a tight muscle shirt... he was scrawny & short & was carrying an ice bucket. He kept looking over at Jacob & Robbie & was licking a piece of ice from his bucket a little too fondly. sweatdrop When we finally got to the 10th floor... we hurried out of there & then laughed as the elevator finally closed. xd whee heart

and yes..that sucking on the ice cube was a little too provocative. But no, he wasn't looking at me while he was enjoying his frozen water, only at Jacob.
you forgot to mention his ironic rainbow rosary!

I actually don't remember the rosary... I was trying hard not to look at him... I was uncomfortable with him... with what he was wearing. sweatdrop rofl
Atleast the Splash event wasn't actually going on in our hotel. Though it could have been something entertaining to see. wink heart

sweatdrop Ha Ha Ha . . . can I not tell the majority of my stories on here? sweatdrop
I had a great time, but I had to deal with a lot of drama this year. The funniest thing was the skit done right before Happi Fest started. Now that was funny!
