Someone please help me, I'm new to Lolita heart and really don't know what I'm doing... i have long, thick, strawberry blond hair that's frizzy on top and twists itself into ringlets below my ears, and it doesn't look right with ANY lolita costume, no matter what I do to it! I won't dye it, and i'm growing it out to donate it to children who have lost their hair in chemo, so cutting is probably out too, but I would really like it to look nice, and so far, that's been completely beyond my grasp. If you need any more info for suggestions, I'd be beyond happy to oblige, and if you can give me a suggestion that works, I'll worship you. *curtsy* Merci!

Hm, maybe you should try tightly curling all of it the same way, putting two bows in your hair that match your outfit, or maybe even a headdress with bows. I have really short hair, so it's even harder for me.

My suggestion would be to heat treat your hair. I know it might sound a little scary but keeping it straightened by using a low heat straightening iron and a little heat serum will keep it tame for when you go fix it up to go out. Because your hair is already naturally spirally, using a large barrel curling iron to achieve the look will just clean up what you already got, and accesorize with ribbon lace or a headdress that matches your outfits. heart

Thanks everyone! However, I now have a new problem... I just donated 11 inches of that annoying hair to Locks of Love ( heart ) and although I in no way regret that, I can't do anything with the layered little ringletted bob I have left. I guess I'll have to resort to a wig or a straightening iron (those scare me though...) unless anyone has any more helpful suggestions! Thanks!

Well I had found this site based about pin-curls, very similar to loliat curls, it teaches you how to curl your hair: http://community.livejournal.com/egl/7417476.html?thread=114095748#t114095748It mentions somwhere, that it is better with wavyish hair, since straight hair would be harder, but it'll be worth a shot, to try something & see what happens from there, or you could do what I have done before piggy-tails, which is where, I have a shower, & get dressed...but I leave my hair still fairly wet, dry it a little, so water doesn't drip on your clothes, comb it/or brush it (I usually comb, since my hair is wavy, & brushing it causes it to go bonkers) place your hair up in high pony tails, I suggest as you try to place it in a piggy tail, comb it as you place your hair through a hair tye, once you have both sides of your head with a pony tail, get some gel out, rub it in your hands, & start twisting your hair, I usually twist it, but platting might turn out nice (though never tried platting, but being experimental is helpful, providing you take notes & keep some kind of hair journal, on hair styles that fit you best, have worked for you, how you have improved over time or whatever), I usually use hair spray at the end, to keep it in place, & also from what I have notice with my hair (hair types vary), is that once it dries, it becomes soft looking, after sleeping on it over 1 or 2 nights....I hope that helps, maybe not, since I'm not so good with tutoring xd

Do you have to dye your hair blonde or colorful highlights, or blond with colorful highlights? I'd like to know.

No, I don't do anything to my hair as far as color goes. It's gotten pretty blond because of all the time I've spent in the sun, this summer... I've found that what works best is leaving it wet when I get out of the shower and doing as little as possible to it, sometimes putting a little curl-reactivator on it if it's humid, then for a lolita day, putting it in a lacy headband with a bow on the side.
Thanks so much for all your help, guys!
