I wasn't entirely a fan of Nia, but certainly she was her own, unique character. I admire Gurren Lagann becuase it was a show that set it's own standards and really made a statement, coming out completely different from any other anime I've ever seen. All the characters were likable, and even though Nia wasn't my favorite, I'd be lying if I didn't say I was touched by the ending.
She and Simon...were really something. It's only tragic how he went to the end of time and space just to get her back only to lose her so shortly after. Tragic, tragic...But so very beautiful, all the same. I'm a sucker for sad endings, but I felt horrible for the couple, anyway.
