Story Rose City is a mysterious place. For as long as any can remember, a mysterious figure the inhabitants call The Phantom has secretly run the entire city. None have challenged him or his authority. The mayor? A mere figurehead and nothing more. Everything has run smoothly. Crime? Very low for a city, especially one of Rose City's size. The Phantom even teaches special abilities to those he deems worthy. Now, though, there is a new mayor who is not from the city. Will things continue as they always have? Or will the new mayor challenge The Phantom, doing what none have ever dared to do? The Blue Rose Inn: An inn and restaurant that is now run by Listar Eldwin. There are eight floors. Appearance:  Magic: She doesn't know she has any. Weapons: She carries a dagger for her personal protection. Bio: She was raised by a human couple who never told her that The Phantom gave her to them after finding her abandoned. She was raised by them like a human child, never knowing she was something else entirely. The couple recently passed away and left her their inn, The Blue Rose Inn. She lives in the inn in a portion of the ground floor. Recently she has received mysterious visits and heard whispers from the shadows. She smiles at both, thinking of The Phantom.

Listar yawns and looks out one of the front windows into the darkness of the night. She leaves the light on for outside The Blue Rose Inn's front door but begins turning off the lights inside. She's tired and needs sleep. She's been running the inn on her own since her parents passed away. They've been dead nearly a month now. A month of running a business on her own. She smiles slightly. No, not alone. She's felt him watching over her.

Houru Ystap stood in front of the Blue Rose Inn, bags on the rainy stone road. His murky blue eyes stare at the door, as if questioning if he wanted to enter or not. He had plenty of gold, but was it worth it to spend on a room he would only be staying at for one night? He could just continue walking until finding a better city, one that wasn't so quiet and... peaceful. He slung his bags over his shoulder. His slightly pointed ears caught no sounds other than an occasional animal call or rowdy drunkward miles off. He sighed, entering the inn, head bent. One hand was firmly hidden in his coat, clutching a blade that would slice any person who would come across him. He looked up at Listar, eyes clearing only briefly. She was beautiful, but tired. "I would like a room," he asks in a breezy and quiet voice. "It is only for a night, young miss."

Listar hurriedly closes the door, not wanting any of the stray dogs that might be wandering about to get in or the slight wind to bring in any of the rain. She turns a bright, friendly smile upon the stranger. "Of course, Sir." Her voice is musical and a bit enchanting. A soothing sound to the ears. She leads the way over to the desk, stepping behind it. She reaches for a key, but pauses and turns pale gray eyes to the stranger. "Do you have any preference on room style or floor?"

The man smiled a bit, more to himself than to the woman. "I have no preference. As long as there is a bed and a door, I will be happy." Houru took out about fifty gold pieces and laid them on the counter. "Take what is needed, more or less, I do not care." His care-free attitude was annoying himself.... "Or if it is too much....." Great, now he was mumbling and speaking nonsense.

She smiles and pulls only one gold coin to herself. "It's just nice to have someone staying here again..." She had worried that Armond had scared everyone off from The Blue Rose. Her new guest is a stranger though so he wouldn't know about that. She takes down a silver key and turns to him with a small smile, holding it out for him to take. "It's up the stairs. First door on your right. I do hope you like it. It's one of our better rooms. Do you need anything else? Clothes washed or dried? A hot meal? Something to drink?"

Houru scoops the rest of the gold with a quick hand, taking the key and starting to where he was told. "Nothing. I am fine." He stomped upstairs without another word, the only sound he was in his room was the slam of the door.

Those pale gray eyes blink in confusion for a moment before she sighs. She goes to the door that leads to her private part of the inn. She goes inside to a greeting room, closing the door behind herself. She slips off her shoes and goes through an archway straight ahead of herself into a lounging room. She puts the gold coin into a safe before locking it up and moving deeper into her home and to her bedchamber.

The man, after hearing her disappear into another room, slipped out of his own, hair pulled from his face. His cloak had been discarded, revealing a long sword attached to his hip. He tip-toed down the stairs, ears listening for the smallest of sounds. From what he could hear, the people here were also very quiet, a nuisance to himself. He needed no silence, but something to keep himself from thinking. A bar perhaps, or some kind of... questionable house of sorts....

She hears someone behind her and spins around. She had been getting ready for bed. An arm encircles her waist, pulling her against a blond haired man with bright green eyes. His seconf hand comes up and covers her mouth. It's Armond's brother. Her pale gray eyes widen as she's easily lifted off her feet, still pinned against him. She tries to struggle against him, but he's much larger than her.
