I am what I am, so why do they hate me?

I do what I am told, so why do they hate me?

I always do the right thing, so why do they hate me?

I do what I must so they will like me, so why do they still hate me?

I just don't know... I don't think I will ever understand...

Maybe it's because of what happend on my birthday.

Maybe it's because I'm not like them.

Maybe it's because I have the power to save lives and they don't

Maybe it's because they fear me.

I just don't know... Will I ever understand?

This is a thread about a bunch of children born with unfortunate destinies. All of these children were born with a great power, that not even they were aware of. This power is the power of one of ten ancient beasts, reincarnated in the body of a new being every time the last body dies. After centuries of doing so, the bodies started to die before the age of 15, leaving the beasts to make a choice. Rather than steal the body completely, this time around they have decided to share the body with that person's soul, only to take over when most necessary.

It's been nearly 18 years since the first body gave out, shortly followed by the others, and now the new generation is beginning to realize they're power.

This might seem as a pleasant thing, but chosen ones are not all on the same side. Actually, half of the ancient beasts worked to protect the world from harm and destruction, while the others worked to wreck havoc and cause destruction to the world. This has yet to change, and with each new body they poses, a new threat to the world arises. And it just so happens to be that the first of all the beasts to take over they're host and use their power ended up destroying an entire city.

This has given the world it's first look at the new age, and virtually has thrown everyone into panic and fear about these beasts. That is why they are all hated now, and the young ones with these powers are forced to keep it to themselves...

But how long can they keep this up? Trouble will strike... Sooner or later.

Okie-dokie. Well, to sum this up, the characters have all been born with a ancient spirit within them (like a voice in they're head, or split personality). Some are good, some are evil. Thanks to the evil ones, the good ones are also seen as bad, for now at least. There will basically be a war between the two sides to destroy or save the earth. (As the story progresses, the truth behind things will be uncovered, slowly)

Appearance: Include a small animal trait. no tail, but perhaps a animal eye color, face shape, hair, etc. Nothing big.
Powers: any powers are okay, but no more than 3 at first. 1 elemental power allowed per person, though. physical powers, or anything else is fine too. (elements can be used twice, once by a good person, and once by a bad person.)
