I believe that if we're going to buy a new subforum it be for a Role Playing section. That way we can organize all the missions and Pilot information into one area, and then use the main subforum for what it is being used for now; general AC talk.
After that, I agree with Seigfried; we need to look for active members. But if we don't have an organized guild, then it will likely be harder to get people in here due to the lack of un-user friendliness it would cause.

I wonder how hard the trouble would be if we could somehow organize an armored core guide for various parts. Of course it would take considerable time, and several hundred parts would be in the guide, but it'd add more of the AC feel. People could start out with low level mechs and build them up into their signature machines. It might add more complication than nessisary though...

That is a nice, raw idea; something that we could work with. It does seem like a good idea to catalog all of the parts, and it would be a team effort but it would be worth it in the end. However, I believe there should be some sort of... system in which we pick out how we get those parts, something like having our own circle of Originals razz (a term from AC4, wherein the Originals were the veteran Ravens who fought in the National Dismantlement War) anyway, people in the Circle of Originals would be able to have their signature mech in the beginning; after all, we need a few veterans for lower leveled players to aspire to.
It could be like, people who actively contributed to organizing the guild, recruiting people, helping new members ect... But yeah, hypothetically speaking, if we were to catalog all of the parts, I'd be happy to do the AC4 ones, since I play it pretty much daily. Sadly, there aren't as much as the other games, and that likely makes it seem like I'm looking for the easy job razz but my PS2 broke so my AC2, AC2 AA and AC3 can't be played...
Of course, we should get mod permission to start such a large project, and it would help a lot to have Mod Status if a Private Meeting is needed, or modification of subforums, moving of threads/deleted is needed, which most likely it shall be.
EDIT:
AH! But in retrospect the idea of having all of the parts from all the other AC games, as well as the AC4 ones is a bit off, because AC4 runs off a different system of calculation, since way back when having 10000 A was a good thing, and I can only imagine all of the differences. It would be much the Skin Graph if we were to incorporate a sort of Mean, or worse, think up our own lot of numbers for the parts previous to AC4. Still, if a team is willing to do it, I will help in the process.

its a good idea. but i don't RP. I'm OK with it. but i think that before you start a massive project like that, we should have more users. when we have a few more users then PM me and let me know your game plan.

I'm a fan of both ideas (I enjoy parts lists and the idea of RPing Raven missions sounds fun!), but I have the Prima guide to Nexus, so I can definitely lend a hand!

Indeed. It seems that the catalog is a popular idea... perhaps we shall do it then? And it looks like we have a few new people here, or older members returning from absence, so I think we could make the subforum now.

I don't know about all the other people, but I've found that AC4 really newbed it down... a lot. They took so much away from AC construction, energy and heat management, piloting skill requirements... I don't mean to just rant, but I think if there were a catalogue of parts... the older AC games deserve it more. Just my opinion.

I'd still like to see a "Garage" of sorts where people can go to post their builds or get some feedback on how to tune that last bit of performance out of their Core's, hell I'll put up some of my own money for it if need be.

I don't mean to just rant, but I think if there were a catalogue of parts... the older AC games deserve it more. Just my opinion. Well, the heat management has indeed been taken out but Lore-wise this was because of the fact that the technology had been upgraded, hence the name "Next" and whatnot. However, energy management is still an issue, and FRS memory adds a new level of tuning to the game. I'd like to see more parts though, since it lacked a bit in that area. EDIT* Besides that if we're to keep an up-to-date kind of guild, going with the currant installment of the series would be a wise decision.

STATEMENT: Well, when it comes right down to it we need a universal system, and as I've already stated, IMO I think it should be the updating of parts to the AC4 system, and there are several reasons for why I think that'd be the best way, one being because it has been dubbed as the most balanced AC game so far, and in fact is; though we'd need to make sure we followed such a system correctly if we're to get the same effect. It would be a good idea if to RP we didn't need to make a universal system.
RECOLATION: However, I suppose if we found out the equality from the two systems, if there is one, and made equivelents to each system so that an AC4 player would have a set of older systemed stats, or an older systemed stat person could have a set of AC4 ones, then it would be nice.
EXAMPLE: Say we go with using the old system. Without having a set of numbers equivilent to such matters, I'd have to make a new AC if my mech is to be correctly fleshed out in the old system. This I would find very hard pressing as I wish not to have to do that... as I am sure anyone who has grown an attachment to an effective and stunning design could agree.
