In the 1st movie theres a line thats been driving me up the wall for ever. "on an island that can't be found accept to those who already know where it is" well how do they know where it is? i mean it's the island where the crused gold was and the guy that had it crused didn't want anyone to find it sooo.. how in did the pirates find it?

Presumably, because of all the treasure there, more than one person had been to the island originally. Think of the Treasure Island plot - they meant to come back for the treasure, and never did. They told someone to preserve their legacy and whatnot.
By the way, no PERSON cursed the treasure. The Aztec GODS cursed the gold. They don't care much about finding islands.
Anyway, Jack didn't need to get the coordinates from anyone. His compass points to what he desires most, therefore it pointed to the island when that was what he desired. Once he had the heading, he didn't need to compass exactly, which was how Barbossa and the crew could find the island.
