Personality
Split-Personality: Vince is one of those who can be easily under-estimated. The person he shows to people is one you would not expect to hold his own in a fight. But more someone who’d do all he could to avoid one by hiding and running away. He is slothy, charming, polite, and smooth. But if provoked the wrong way or enough, he will snap and the Vampire within him will come out.
‘Day’ Vince is what you call the slothy, charming, polite, and smooth version you see most of the time. If something isn’t worth wasting energy on, than it’s not worth doing at all. That’s how he sees things.
‘Night-time’ Vince, or the true Vampire, is a different matter. He is not slothy, though may still be charming and polite towards people he cares about. His voice is no longer soft, his smile no longer friendly and inviting. His eyes don’t dance with amusement, but burn with a fire and determination as in most others his race. A cruel expression replaces the constant cheery one of before.
Love: Though Vince’s race cannot feel love, just perhaps the strong affection towards two friends, he does give the impression that he’s an exception, with occasional soft kisses to show his feelings. Nothing ever passionate, though his kisses may last a few seconds at most. He is very affectionate for an undead. The woman he chooses for his life will be subjected to them and affectionate add-ons, as well kisses on the hand and other spots on the face. All this despite never have ever been with a woman in life nor in death.

Facts
• ‘Bates’ is his original surname. Vincent is not his original name.
• His glasses always fall down as the writer’s way of constantly showing his pretty eyes, which reveal a lot about what he’s feeling.
• Velia is one of the few things he is passionate about. And one of the few things that brings about his anger if threatened. Velia is also the only one who, even in Vampire mode, Vince will continue to speak as he did in his other.
• The name ‘Bates’ was given to him as a reference to Norman Bates of Psycho. Though Vince’s madness isn’t close to the same, they’re still both mad.
