Seems like everyone's got an opinion on this....let's see what you guys think.
What do you think about people having a crush on a fictional character? Do you think it's fine as long as they aren't obsessed? Do you think it's creepy no matter what? Do you think people like that can't get a date in real life? Do you think it's all in good fun and no harm at all? Tell meeee~
Bonus question! Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character? If so, tell about them! Who was it, why did you like them so much, etc.

I find that a crush on a fictional character is a form of extreme insanity. xD A crush in itself is pretty minor, and anyone could develop a crush on anyone, so I guess it's possible to develop a crush on a fictional character.
Wait, what am I saying? Of course it's possible! I mean, I had a crush on Kyou Sohma from Fruits Basket for the majority of middle school! (And the beginning of high school)
It was pretty intense. I was obsessed with buying everything and anything with Kyou on it, and even looking at a picture (anime or manga) made me blush. xD And I had no idea why! But every time he smiled or made a kind comment in the manga, it caused my heart to pound.
But it went away as soon as a developed feeling for a real person. Well, he lives in Canada, thousands of miles away, and we've never met, but it's a step in the right direction! =D
I'm now hoping that, now that I've given up my feelings for both Kyou and my Canadian friend, I'll fall for someone a little closer... At least in the same state.

hm.. I have mixed imotions on this topic. Because I have had character's in anime that I really liked and I thought about 'if they were real, i'd date them' But I never actually thought that I could... I mean they are cartoons.
But Yes I have had crushes on anime characters. sweatdrop
Miroku From Inuyasha
Neji From Naruto
Shikamaru From Naruto
Kakashi From Naruto
I actually had a dream about Kakashi one. eek We were dating....

I read somewhere that there is a mental disease where you fall in love with a fictional character. It's when you become so obsessed, you begin to develop feelings for an imaginary being as if they were real. So I was right; having a crush on a character is a form of insanity. xD

i think its fine as long as the person isnt obsessed to the point of insanity. me and all of my friends have crushes on fictional characters, were all perfectly fine, sanity in tack.
however, the way i crush is more of a 'hoping to find someon like that character'.
for example, i really like naruto because hes got a dream and isnts afraid to speak his mind, plus we both love ramen ^^ now, theres a boy at school i like because he is like naruto. a little loud, he has goals, and loves japanese food. (he looks like sasuke though...)
anyway, i think its fine. when you have a crush on an anime character, its kinda like you just have a crush on those types of people.
