There begin to be fewer and fewer large bookcases and more stone platforms and figures, and of course traps..after traversing the platforms and probably finding a few secret paths..when it begins to get lower it would seem like a dead end, leaving you pretty much searching deafly for another secret passage. But..of course theres noway anyone would build a place with no means to get to the bottom....

Zero casually walked along the whole floor as if he was confident enough to believe that there's no way that anything bad could happen. He skipped over every gap, descended every book case, and avoided every trap with unbelievable ease, inching closer and closer to the 10th level.

"This is child's play..." Zero muttered as he was descending deeper and deeper into the gigantic library's unexplored depths.

"Wait for me. I'll get you."

Sorce, meanwhile, was taking advantage of the handy power-boost Hakstetteru-san had given him as he avoided death-traps, monsters from L-space, powering up his shields and reflexes in a bid to keep himself alive. How the heck did other mages do this?!?!?!?

Finally catching sight of a familiar back-- to his annoyance, Zero looked like he was having a walk in the park-- he called out. "Hey! Wait for me!!!"
PostPosted: Sat Oct 06, 2007 3:45 am

Zero heard a faint voice behind him. He stopped descending, and waited for the voice to grow louder and louder until he finally caught sight of a figure running towards him. It seemed that the figure was trying desperately to catch him, so much so that the figure didn't realize that he was heading for a trap that Zero had noticed earlier.

Zero's eyes widened and hurriedly chanted a spell in order to save the life of the figure before him...

"Patefacio Signum of Vox..."

"Temerarius mihi , valde ventus ut orbis nos , partum a contego ut can subsisto ullus exertus. Ventus obex!"

Just as thousands of poisoned needles descended from the bookshelves, a large gust of wind materialized around Sorce-san. A wind so powerful that it knocked the needles out of their trajectory and sent them flying in all directions.

Sorce skidded comically to a halt as wind surrounded him, knocking aside the needles that had suddenly sprung out of the walls. They probably wouldn't have penetrated the protection barrier he'd surrounded himself with, but...

"WHAT THE HECK IS IT WITH THIS PLACE!" he ranted. "I'D UNDERSTAND IF THIS WAS A MAGE-ONLY AREA, BUT MUNDANES COME DOWN HERE, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!!"

Getting that out of his chest, he calmy walked the rest of the way towards the waiting figure, who had raised an eyebrow in bemusement at the explosion.

"Thank you," he said calmly. "I don't believe we've been properly introduced. I'm Sorce Marionne, magitech developer and analysis specialist."

He extended his hand.

Zero looked at Sorce-san and then looked at his extended hand. Zero smiled and extended his own hand and shook hands with the person named Sorce Marionne.

"Hello, I'm Zen Rozarin but you can call me Zero. Nice to meet you." Zero said with a semi-cheerful voice.

"I'm sorry about how I acted earlier, it's just that I was so excited to face such a high level mage..." Zero said as he lowered his head and closed his eyes.

"Do you know what it's like to live in a world made out of cardboard? Always being carfeul not to let your magic powers take the better of you for if you lose your concentration, even for a little bit, someone would die?"

Zero continued, slowly raising his head as well as a clenched egoistically.

"But, things are different now. This is a rare opportunity for me to go wild. To use my powers to their fullest extent without worrying that someone would die..."

"...that's why..."

"...that's why I'm so excited!" Zero exclaimed while full of emotions. He was so full of emotions that a burst of magical energy filled the whole room which knocked Sorce-san off his feet and on his butt.

"Ehehehe...sorry about that..." sweatdrop

Sorce waved it off. "No problem. At least you're not the kind who goes around talking in italics and multiple exclamation points. Sure sign of a deranged mind, those."

A pause. "Um exactly how powerful are we talking about here, Zero-san? What exactly is going on? And... what did you mean about Ren-san? Is she a Ministra or something?"
PostPosted: Sat Oct 06, 2007 4:33 am

"This mage...has an insane amount of power..." Zero said to Sorce-san as he crossed his hands, leaned back at a bookshelf, and closed his eyes. He grinned and then continued what he was saying.

"His power might even be comparable to that of a demon overlord. That's enough power comparable to the combined power level of about 1,000 demon lords..." Zero then opened his eyes and looked at Sorce-san.

"And about Ren-san...yes, she isn't a mage...."

"...although she possesses untapped powers even greater than that of more than half of the mages in Mahora Academy. She doesn't realize it yet but that girl has some serious power within her."

Sorce nodded as he leaned back against a handy book case as well (after checking there was nothing there that would kill him), storing the information about Ren for later. She should be interesting to analyze... "If the mage you're talking about is as strong as that... then it can't be naturally. Human bodies aren't made-- spiritually-- to handle that kind of power. He must be artificially empowered somehow."

Sorce grinned. "Get me close enough, and I can probably find out how."

Oh, the discoveries he could make...
PostPosted: Sat Oct 06, 2007 4:55 am

Zero stared at Sorce-san and then grinned.

"Well then, let's get a move on shall we? Scientific discoveries don't discover themsleves you know. And honestly, I can feel that another magical power surge is about to happen since I'm getting all "tingly" again."

Zero stood up and continued to descend down to the 10th level. He knew that the fight that he desperately yearned for was close at hand. Following behind him is a new found friend...a very, VERY eager newfound friend.

Sorce looked over his shoulder at the mass of traps he'd had to pass through. He could already see some of them resetting themselves.

"Fare thee well, Ren-san," he muttered, hoping she'd be all right. Turning, he went to follow Zero...

On the way up Ren seemed to have lost Sorce and Zero on a wrong turn. She stood there and frantically looked from side to side, "I can't be lost! sweatdrop " she said laughing to herself, "I just.... dont.... know.... where I am... stare Yup I'm lost crying " she said nervously, she saw a stair case and decided to walk up it, totally clueless about what laid ahead.

Remembering the traps just in time, Sorce quickly squeezed off a spell. "Electro Arcana! Sepio Tegere Tenebrae Fulguriens!"

Arcs of electricity, stygian lightning, and fields of blackness encompassed him just as he entered the range of the traps. they began to explode harmlessly over his protective field as he flew on...

"Endaeus Galsacrium Omvontos, Umbra Porta!"

A portal is created in front of him and he goes through it.
