AIM RP between Brychan and Waoki

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gossip and news tend to spread like wildfire throughout the herd, and its not surprising that just about everyone by know knew about Brychan's promotion to Captain after having been gone on a mission for two weeks. After informing his family of his return and promotion, Brychan informed some of the outriders shortly after. The stag was taking his new position very seriously, and doing his best to lead other outriders. But, even Captains needed a break now and then, and today found him quietly grazing from a good vantage point that overlooked the herd. Even on a day off... he liked to keep an eye on his hinds and younglings below.
Waoki, too, was gaining quite the reputation among the herd. As an outrider, he was lazy with his duities, often leaving his post to graze beyond their boarders or laying himself down and lazily eyeing the landscape in the distance. It was a show of defiance though he had never explained himself to anyone, and to that day he continued to do so. The news enraged him. He'd never dip his head to a captain such as Brychan or file into his orders. The blonde stag dipped his head once more, pulling a few clumps of grass out with a bit of uneeded force.
Brychan was not unaware of Waoki's reputation, and he knew that the other stag did not hold a high opinion of him. He'd considered talking to the Lord about the unruly fellow, but decided against it.. atleast for now. As a Captain, it was also his duty to deal with lazy and troublesome outriders like Waoki... but you couldn't really blame him for not wanting to deal with it, especially after the past confrontations. Blue gaze turned in the direction of the huffy blonde stag as he ripped clumps of grass from the soil. The starry pelted one releasing a sigh as he continued to graze quietly. He'd rather not have a confrontation with Waoki... but it seemed whenever Brychan spoke to him, it was a confrontation. Even if it was not intended on Brychan's part. How does one deal with such a stag? That was something he thought about, pondering to himself as he tried to ignore him. It wasn't like Waoki had done any horrible offense... but he suspected that even a gentle word or two would be met with hostility.
Waoki lifted his head up as Brychan looked over. A clear sneer painted itself on his scarred face along with the sharp rotation of his ears backa against the nape of his neck. It was a joke, a complete joke in his opinion. The only reason that joke of a stag was reputable was because of his ability to mount females. Nothing more or less. Waoki turned himself sharply, flipping his tail right up in a clear show of disrespect as he went on back to grazing.
Brychan rolled his eyes at the clear display of respect. He supposed he should probably say something. With a sigh, he walked in the direction of the other stag, "Tell me... what is it you have against me, Waoki?" he asked. "Have I done anything to you to warrent such... behavior?" Naturally.. he knew he hadn't, but really... he wanted to try and make things right. But the only thing he really expected was a snide remark or some other form of hostility.
Waoki didn't feel like gracing the stag with an answer. He turned himself casually and started to walk himself away, his head raised up along with his tail. b*****d... it wasn't any of his buisness. And he knew damn well why Waoki couldn't stand him. How dare he parade around to make a scene out of it.
Brychan's ears tilted back and his brows furrowed as Waoki blatantly ignored him. There would only be a scene if Waoki continued to act this way. But he would not allow this guy to just walk all over him. If he needed to, he would administer discipline.. for such behavior was unacceptable. "Waoki... let me remind you that I'm your superior now. You'll answer me when I ask you a question."
Waoki couldn't help but laugh, turning casually to eye Brychan dangerously. "Supierior... ah yes so that's what this is about. Well yes, I've heard of your promotion. I don't see why your first act as captain is harassing your outriders over mounting your hinds. Seems a bit confused to me."
Brychan blinked once, then glowered at Waoki, "I beg your pardon?" He shook his head, trying his best not to lose his own temper, but Waoki was truely trying his patience, "This isn't about me, Waoki... I can't ignore your irresponcibility to your duties and the less than savory attitude you've had towards me. Surely we can settle this in a civil manner..." but if not... well.
"There's nothing to settle." He said simply and started to walk himself away again. Settle what? He didn't start anything. Sure he'd given Brychan quite the display of defiance but that was hardly worthy of such a confrontation.
Hardly worth a confrontation? He would beg to differ. Brychan followed after Waoki as he tried to leave. "I'm afraid you're mistaken. This needs to stop, otherwise I'll be forced to bring up the subject to Fell Lore. And neither of us want that, I'm sure. I'm asking you to put whatever this is behind you, so that we can atleast work together. The herd will never have the best protection if the outriders can't even get along. Surely you know this."
Waoki stomped a foot sharply. "Ah so if the captain can't handle it he drags the greymuzzle of a lord into the conflict then? Fantastic. Quite the shining example of leadership in action." He turned smoothly, his single eye blazing, "I never asked to be an outrider... so I don't feel obligated to subject myself to the duties of one."
Brychan furrowed his brows at the clear insult to his leadership ability. He wasn't about to argue that with Waoki, it would be pointless. "Nobody asked to be an Outrider, but its our responcibility. But nobody is forcing you to do it. You do not have to be in this herd Waoki. You could be a storyteller for all I care.. you certainly got the looks of one." Which was a returned insult as most storytellers were frail or weak in some manner or another.
Waoki chuckled, "Normally, Brychan... a position takes more than the appropreate looks to fulfill...seems you've not touched on that valuable nugget of wisdom just yet." He tipped his head a bit, "Or perhaps your antlers are weighing too heavy on your mind."
Brychan smirked, "As if you're one to talk, with those logs on your head." His tail twitched a bit in aggitation as one hoof stomped. Brychan had a lot of patienct... but well.. it was running thin. And when he finally did lose his temper, he lost it. He didn't know if Waoki was trying to get a rise out of him on purpose, but well.. he didn't care much at this point. It seemed to be working somewhat.
Waoki smirked. "Let me show you something... dear captain." Waoki circled himself around to a small tree, much of the leaves had already dropped off on one side. "Such long, lovely branches... so thin...so delicate." He reared up on his hind legs, snagging the branch in his antlers and twisting his head enough to send the branch snapping off towards the ground. "All for show."
Brychan watched with little interest at Waoki's display. "There's a big difference between a twig and antlers.. that hardly proves anything. Perhaps you should make a point with those antlers of yours instead of petty words, hm?" Clearly Brychan was not impressed. He was confident, but not overly so. He knew that Waoki could do some damage if given the chance, but Bry was an older and more experienced Outrider than he was.
He only chuckled again, shaking his head, "If all stags neglected the power of their minds for the power of their thick heads then where would this herd be?" He raised an eyebrow and lowered his head to nibble at the grass once more.
"No where good, if they all acted the same way you did. Thankfully, we're all smarter than that." He could only imagine how disasterous it would be if Waoki was found in a position of power... in any herd. It would not be a pretty sight. After what he'd seen with the Reindeer though, he didn't want this herd to be reduced to a bunch of squabbling calves... He needed to deal with this problem, now.
"My dear captain would be wise not to assume much of his outriders." He smirked over to him, "I behave this way because I owe this herd no loyalty." He snorted, returning to grazing.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 06, 2007 5:14 pm
Brychan snorted, "Don't talk to me about wisdom when you clearly have none, Waoki. And you're wrong.. you owe this herd for the grass that you eat, the place you sleep, and the security it provides. If you feel that way, then you should leave. See how well you do when you have no herd."
Waoki lifted his head up, slowly turning towards the distant horizon. "Often times I wonder what drove Sggor to do what he did... an unfortunate accident, a mental scar, a few too many sharp glares in his direction, or..." He glanced over to Brychan, "One pompus captain..."
Brychan narrowed his eyes. Waoki could stand there and insult him till he was blue in the face, and truthfully.. Brychan wanted to beat the crap out of him. But unfortunately... he was too honorable to do so without good reason. Curse his ethics! "So.. now you're comparing yourself to Sggor? That's dangerous talk, Waoki."
"I thought I'd join the rest of the herd...Brychan." He smirked and walked himself smoothly past the captain once more, humming to himself. He wasn't nearly as dumb as he played himself. Testing the captain was almost a game for him now.
"Your arrogance is nothing short of astouning Waoki. It will get you into trouble one of these days... if not by me, then someone else." Brychan didn't so much as flinch or look at Waoki as he passed by. A hard look on his face as he merely stood there. He knew that Waoki was intentionally doing this.. trying his patience.. testing him.. whatever. He wasn't about to let this insubordinate outrider have the last laugh.
"I'm sure I can handle myself just fine." He almost sighed his response, like it completely bored him to consider such options. He almost wanted a reason to tesst the wild against himself... it wasn't the smartest thing ever...not alone, but it was something.
"Is that so... and how do you know this, hm? How can you be sure if you can't even get the best of one pompous captain?" A sharp look was then passed in Waoki's direction, an almost challenging look in his eyes.. as if daring him to start something. Waoki talked big.. but could he back it up? Some how he doubted it with all the apathy he'd been showing. Perhaps under all that arrogance was nothing but a coward.
Waoki shrugged again and dropped his head to pick at the grass once more. He could care less, he didn't owe Brychan an explanation. He could survive if he had to... he wasn't a moronic stag that would charge a wolf, he knew when to fight and when to use his head.
Apparently he couldn't and Brychan snorted, "You're little more than a coward, Waoki.. you wouldn't last two days on your own. I guess I'll just have to take pity on you and allow you to stay. If you behave that is." Brychan was irked, and it showed in his voice, but he'd had enough of this. This banter was entirely pointless. Thus, he started to walk on... to look for a place with more peace and quiet.
"A coward..." He growled, lifting his head and walking himself right up to Brychan until his nose barely brushed the tip of the captain's. "A coward...would bend to the desires of another who is clearly inferior to them... you Brychan... are the coward." He snorted and turned himself away once more.
Brychan turned when Waoki came up to him. It seems that he struck a nerve. The captain meeting the gaze of the other unwaveringly, eyes narrowing. "I think you've got it backwards Waoki... a coward is someone who talks big but doesn't take action. Who doesn't stick up for their ideals. That would certainly not be me. You have yet to prove yourself. That's why I am a captain, and you are not."
"You're captain because you can mount does and catch your antlers in the branches of a few trees." He sighed a bit, "A coward has to act big because he can't think big... courage isn't all about action. You have to know when to run from the wolf...so you can pierce it later."
"Tell that to the Lord. If you've got so much beef with me, you can take it up with him. Atleast I have hinds, where as you couldn't even attract a butterfly. Bring me the head of that white wolf, and perhaps I might believe you. However, if you continue the route you're going... if you prove yourself a danger to this herd, I'll have no choice but to take action. I managed to survive for two weeks away from the herd, what have you done? It takes strength and intelligence to survive on your own."
Waoki only smirked a bit, "Is that an order? Captain?" He chuckled again under his breath and walked himself past Brychan, but paused right beside him, throwing his antlers up to strike at the side of Brychan's. He grinned out of his single eye. "...keep sharp...."
Brychan's nostrils flared and his antlers met with Waoki's, giving a tilt of his head to lock them with the other's. "Is that a threat, Waoki?" he asked lowly, eyeing the other critically. He would take this insolent stag on any day that he wanted. After all.. if Waoki was allowed to get away with such stupidity, what was to say others wouldn't as well? The Outriders should respect each other, Captain or not. But if one didn't show respect, they wouldn't get it. Brychan had tried to be nice to this stag.. tried to be respectful, but it was thrown in his face.
"Perhaps one day." He chuckled, loosing his antlers to continue his smooth walk away from Brychan. Perhaps one day he'd snap those twigs clean off the arrogant captain's head... that'd show him.
Brychan snorted, but let him go. Tilting his head back once Waoki had free his antlers from his own. One day... heh... we'll see about that. He would put that arrogant stag in his place the day that he challenged him. Not another word was spoken, Brychan going his own way, to return to his grazing.
Another RP with Thalion over AIM
Who: Brychan and Baird
--------------------------------------------
Despite being the Lord of the Herd, Brychan couldn't very well occupy himself with standing near the Home Oak all the time. He had to stretch his legs once in awhile. It had been quite a joy to watch his newest younglings grow, what with a couple of his sons having recently join the ranks of the Corps. Like any father, it filled him with pride to see his boys become young bucks and show promise of becoming outstanding Outriders. His eldest, Islwyn, was a different story. Brychan had been trying to teach him with firm and steady guidance, but his son's head always seemed to be in the clouds. He had thought Islwyn would grow out of this, but it hadn't really seemed to change. Walking the outskirts of the herd's territory, Brychan was occupied with these thoughts as he went. His senses were on alert, but he really wasn't paying full attention.
Baird had met shortly with a few stags prior to the previous moment. He'd opted to stay where he was, fully convinced that in moving away from this...supposidly enchanted spot, he had no chance at returning to his rightful body and home. He laid down on a side, ears pinned back as he eyed a patch of grass nearby. Hunger stung and kicked him in the gut like a nest of angry bees....and he was a deer. There sat what he was supposed to eat. However, the boy inside him screamed for him to retain some dignity. Still... it did look good.
The soft thud of hoof steps nearby might catch the strange stag's attention as the Lord simply happened to be coming his way. His mind seemingly distant until he was practicly ontop of the unfamiliar deer. He smelled him and soon saw him laying on his side. Brychan paused, blinking blue eyes slowly in confusion as he tried to place the stag... but couldn't.. yet he looked somewhat familiar. "Hello there.. I don't suppose we've met?" He figured maybe he was a member of the herd that he hadn't really gotten to know very well yet. Something nagged at the back of his mind anyway.
Baird yelped and threw himself back. For a human, it would have been perfectly normal to sit up on his hind quarters and throw his hands up when startled. However, he was no human and he had no hands. Instead, the stag fell back on his haunches and boxed at the air before simply falling over, his nubbed antlers clicking aginast the trunk of a nearby tree to send him falling over once more.
Startled by the stag's sudden outburt, Brychan's eyes widened and he jumped back as the other yelped and then boxed at the air. For a moment.. he thought the other was trying to attack him, but it became apparent that wasn't the cause. The Lord merely stared at the other male oddly, unsure what to really say. What a... strange deer, certainly. "Ah... I didn't mean to startle you.. Sorry?"
The deer rolled himself back to his belly and shook his head off, some of the red patch between his ears fell over his widened green eyes. He had some resemblence to Waoki, if only for the nubbed, thick, and gray antlers. "...I...uh.... another talking deer." He looked to one of his own hoofs. "I'm not dreaming am I?"
All Brychan could do for a few moments was just stare at the stag. Yes the antlers looked familiar... and maybe even pelt a little.. but he didn't make the connection to Waoki. If he had.. he would have figured he would be related to him. The most Brychan thought about Waoki was his aggravating attitude, and he hadn't really seen him in a long time anyway.. so he never gave that stag a second thought. "Are you... alright?" he finally asked atleast, wondering if this stag had maybe gone mad?
"I'm lost." The stag answered in a voice that was strangely childlike. A voice that was far too young for the matured body he was stuck in. "I don't know where I am or why I'm here." He looked around a bit, then back up to the stag, "And I'm talking to animals!"
Brychan took a few steps closer, craning his head down to look at the stag on the ground. Brychan's dark pelt combined with his size and rather... large rack, might come off as intimidating, but he doesn't think about that. A brow lifted once more, "Are you a speaker then? Hm... well I can't help you with who you are or why you're here... but where is it you were going?"
"I want to go home." The stag leaned back away from the one approaching him. He'd make a fine pelt, and the antlers would be rather fitting on the wall of a noble's hunting lodge. He wasn't sure about his own though he was sure they weren't nearly that large. "But they'll shoot me like this! I know they would. It's late winter... and..." He looked to his hoof and made kind of a choking sound. Hoof. Not hand. "I'm starving."
Brychan didn't know what this guy was blabering about.. but it became obvious that this stag wasn't one of theirs. He seemed disoriented and confused, perhaps the winter's harshness had gotten to him. There still was a lot of snow on the ground after all, although the recent sunny days had melted patches of it. "There there.. calm down..." he took a step back, "Get up now" he said with a ring of authoritativeness in his voice, although not harshly. Brychan's head also inclining quickly as if to emphasize the command.
"I tried." The stag slowly got himself to all fours, all four knees knocking around. "This is as far as I got...these legs are too long...and they look like they'll break! So high up..." He noted as an after-thought.
As Brychan watched, he couldn't help but notice how the stag looked like a two minute old calf trying to walk for the first time. His ears pinned back, really unsure what to think. Something terrible must have happened to this guy, and he figured for atleast the time being.. he might have to try this stag like a calf. "You'll get the hang of it quickly" he told him, "Just try. Focus."
He shook his head, "I'm not supposed to walk like this. It's not right." He grumped but took a few shakey steps forward none the less and found himself leaning against a tree. "It's not. I'm not supposed to be here. It's wrong!"
"Stop talking like that!" Brychan barked, brows furrowing and pinning his ears back, "There is a reason for everything in this world. Whatever happens, Herne allows... be it good or bad. Whining about it isn't going to make it easier, now walk!" He didn't want to be harsh, but darnit... this guy needed it if he was going to get anywhere.
Baird snorted and rolled his eyes, "Herne is dead... an old hunter's tale they tell over ale." He started forward again, legs wobbeling. One of them buckled and sent him down to his front knees. "Augh!"
Brychan snorted, "I can assure you he's not dead" he grumbled irritably, before marching behind Baird after his partial fall. Its then that he did the unexpected and reached out to n** the stag's rear end.. and hard. Try that for motivation.
Baird bellowed and jumped forward. His front legs tangled with his hind legs and sent him rolling and stumbling forward. Not healthy or graceful for a stag. The result was a very angry Baird on his back looking at his hooves against the sky. "What was that for!?"
Brychan let out a long, sigh as the stag just managed to flop over in a tangle of legs. "Your attitude for one. You're bound to get picked off by wolves if you continue like this. If you plan on surviving, you need to get walking."
"For a deer you sure are pushy." The stag rolled himself to his side and forced himself back up to his feet. Afterwards he shot a long glare towards Brychan. "And you talk about Herne like he's some kind of good guy. He was a hunter you know. I bet he killed lots of deer."
Brychan lifted a brow, "I suppose I have to be." Then those brows furrowed again, "I don't know where you're from, but you're mistaken. Herne is the God of the deer. He created us and guides us." This encounter was proving stranger by the moment, "Now.... if you want something to eat, you best start walking. I know a good spot."
Baird started staggaring forward, "Nu uh... the hunters talk about him a lot. He was the best hunter ever. But he died protecting the king from a white stag. Peope got jealous and took his head off and replaced it with the stag he killed." He paused against a tree again, "And that's why his ghost haunts people."
.... Okay. Brychan stared at the stranger stag as if he had grown two heads "You talk about humans as if you know them." Nostrils flared a bit, trying to pick up the smell of human on this stag. Perhaps that could explain his twisted views, "Just who are you? You're unlike any deer I've met. Did the humans capture you? They cerainly messed up your way of thinking."
"Capture?" Baird looked over and wrinkled his nose, "We don't capture deer we eat them." He pounded a hoof on the ground, "I am a human, that's why I know them. I sat with the hunters, I was going to be one too... Bran was teaching me all his tricks."
"... ..." Brychan just continued to stare at the stag before bellowing out a laugh. "You had me there for a moment." The other deer's words sounded so sincere he almost believe them, before realizing how utterly stupid and insane it sounded. "Come now.. that's a poor way of hiding what really happened to you. There's no shame in admitting that you lost your herd or were driven out. There's many rogues about."
Baird sighed as an ear fell to one side. "Don't make fun of me." He wobbled forward again, shoulders hulked up and head lowered down inbetween them as well. "I'm only twelve. I'm not ready for this."
"Twelve? You look far too young to be that age." If he was twelve.. he would be Brychan's senior! Certainly not.. for this stag's mind was too young.. not to mention his looks... the antler rack wasn't the right size for such an age. However, he somewhat pitied him for the downtrodden look he now displayed. "Come now.. cheer up. I would like to help you, but you'll need to help yourself a bit as well."
"I'm walking aren't I? And yes, twelve." He turned slowly and eyed the stag, "Just two more years and I could have gone out hare hunting. I had a good arm with a bow....but you're a deer. I shouldn't be talking about it to you."
So he was persisting with that human stuff eh? Heh. Maybe if he ignored it, it would go away. "That you are.. its certainly a start, and from the looks of it.. you're a deer also. So perhaps you should start acting like one."
"I'm...I only look like a deer." He flipped his tail upwards and gave an attempt at stomping off, which resulted in another tumble sideways. "I bet it was a ghost... or a demon."
"A ghost?" Well it wasn't unheard of to see spirits or demons.. after all.. look at that bone guy. Bryce or whatever his name was. "What is it you saw?" Brychan asked, although not sure why he was asking... it would probably be more nonsense.
Baird paused and tipped his head a bit. Both ears pinned against his head. "I..was out hunting hare. I wanted to trap one and show Bran...then it got foggy...and dark. I got lost on my way and tried turning back." His nose wrinkled up a bit. "...there were antlers coming through the fog, and a pair of eyes...." He shuddered.
Ugh.. there he went claiming to be a human again. Brychan eyes him skeptically, "Are you sure you weren't dreaming? You realize you're saying you were a human." And he was telling this to a deer... who you know... humans hunt and kill and all of that.
Baird lifted his head up and snorted. "Of course I'm a human. I bet it's a curse...like those wive's tales. Mom did tell me not to leave the village..." He frowned a bit, and glanced over to the deer. "And you're a talking deer. You act like this is all a shock!"
Brychan stared and glowered at the strange male, "Deer don't talk. You're a deer and you talk. Whether you wish to deny it or not, you are a deer... whether or not you were once human." He snorted, for he didn't really believe it. "Humans don't just turn into deer, so naturally, I would be shocked! Would you believe me if I turned into a human and told you I was a deer, hm?"
The stag had a point. If a man waddled into his home and began going on about himself being a deer they'd put him away. It didn't seem he was going to get much sympathy from the stag. "...fine....what do I do then. I can't go home. They'll eat me."
Well then. It seemed they were finally getting somewhere. "If you say so" Brychan replied, relieved that they could finally end some of this bickering, for it was getting rather tiresome. "Stop your complaining first off, its disrespectful. I'm the leader of this herd, and if you want to stick around, and thus survive... I would like a little more respect. Next, it wouldn't hurt to get some food." He was still rather unsure about all this, but he was willing to give this strange stag a chance, if he managed to stay on Brychan's good side. If not. then he didn't care what the hell happened to him.
"Food...right...." Food to him was bread, meat, and maybe some vegetables in the spring. He was quite hungry at that point.... "Leader of deer." He didn't think there was such thing. They were just...game. Nothing more or less. "Okay...so food...respect. What else? You mentioned wolves..." He crossed his eyes to look up to his head, "What about my horns?"
Brychan motioned for the stag to follow him, continuing to speak as he walked, "That's right... Lord of the herd more appropriately, but my name is Brychan." This whole conversation was just strange.. it was making his brain hurt really. "The wolves eat us, obviously... the front line of the herd is the Outriders who fend off intruders and give the first warning of wolves. That's what makes a herd safer. You'll pay them respect as well. And... your antlers, well. They're used for combat and sparring." Having to explain this to a stag was so very strange indeed!
"Well do I have them? Are they big?" He hadn't ever seen more than his hooves. There'd been no water around him to look into or anything else that could give him further information on just how he looked. "Out..riders. They ride?" He looked over and frowned a bit. It all seemed like something out of wive's tales again.
"Yes you have them... and... that depends on your opinion" Brychan replied with a bit of a smirk. "They're... thick.. not exactly long." He looked around and spotted a puddle of melted snow, making his way in that direction and nodding his head at the bit of water, "Take a look for yourself." And the other question drew a blank stare, "No" was the flat responce.
Baird wobbled himself over to the puddle and dipped his head to look at it. The sight shocked him and caused his head to toss back in suprise. "Ah.... uh... ooh...." He looked down to a hoof again and dipped it in the water, then dipped his head to try to lick the water off. Well, this made drinking hard.
Really now.. even if this guy was a human as he had claimed, surely he would have seen deer drinking before.. and if not deer.. then other animals. Brychan sighed a bit, before dipping his antlered head down to the puddle and drink from it. Showing by example was probably the best way.
Baird turned his head away, both ears dropped down to the back of his head. "....I'm awake aren't I? It's for real, isn't it?"
Blue eyes glanced upward, ears perking up as Brychan lifted his head once more. "As far as I know, yes." The starry pelted stag frowned lightly, and then turned away to lead Baird to a patch of grass. It wasn't great grass... since it was dried winter grass mixed with newer shoots in preparation for the coming spring. "Here... food." The stag lowering his head to crop a few pieces with his teeth then looking up again as he chewed on it.
Baird looked down at the grass with a twisted wince. He didn't answer. If he was a deer he'd have to eat like one. He didn't want to die. His head dipped down and he started pulling at the grass, roots and all. Strangely enough... it tasted good! ...not the dirt.
Brychan watched the other eat with light amusement in his eyes as he pulled up dirt along with the grass. A back hoof lifting to scratch idly behind his ear, "There now.. not so bad, right? It'll be better once spring arrives." Ah yes... spring was the best time for grazing and foraging. When the grasses and leaves on the trees were the most tender.
"I suppose..." He dropped the roots down on the ground and dipped his head to wipe his mouth off on the knee of his front leg.
