Example/guide

Title
The first step beside thinking up a story for a role play is the title of this role play. I use to come up with the stories and then the title, or have a harder time with the title. It is also an important part of your role play and how effective its going to be in driving in role players. They want to see something interesting not a role play titled 'Forest Rp' or Battle this or that. A title with originality is often favored and will draw in the type of writers you want, literate and active.

Story/intro
Every role play needs a story to work with, it doesnt have to big a big huge description about the history of what is going on in this fiction world (or sometimes none fiction). But what is wanted is a outline to at least tell people what is going on so they wont be all lost and wondering what year there in!

example: The sky is blue, the grass is green, and people still come and go into lives. Everything is normal. Or so it seems. What the people of earth do not realize is that a great threat is upon them. Beings of another world have finally invaded, and it seems we have no chance of winning in a fight. What few realize is that there are eight people with the ability to fight for earth. These people all have a paperclip looking mark somewhere on their body. They, are the ones who control the elements. They have a fighting chance. Setting
Also, if you didnt tell in the story so much about the setting, you might want to explain more about the area in a setting post. How detail should you go into? Well i wouldnt want to see just you telling the people that there is alot of trees and usually it is a clear day in Tincle Town...

example: The Tigress live in the forest, but can also be found in grass land and swamp margins beyond woodland areas - they are never far from a source of water, are strong swimmers and have a particular love of bathing in pools and lakes in hotter regions. The Canino's live pretty much like the tigress, that is why territory is also a problem amongst them. Taken from a role play called ~Toko Kousen~ made by Izumi1209

Rules
Other than the rules within the guild and gaia's own set of rules. In a role play people usually always place down a set of rules for that role play. They do indeed also have the power, if you arent following the rules, to kick that person out of there role play. The rules can be just the rules already set in the guild rules, but just a remembering of those rules. Also people can come up with there own rules like, girls only, or no guns, or etc.

Profile Outline
In every role play i have been in, the creator has asked for a profile and given a example of what he/she wants. I usually say to people that the profile is one of the most important part of the character that you will be in that role play. Why? Well other than the name of your character being there, the age, race, and appearance being there. There is also sometimes personality and bio/history which is a good reference to go to and, if your stuck with what to write about, you can look at the personality and used the fact that you said that the person is shy around people with yellow hair.
You can add all sorts of things, the character's favorite color, pets name (if any), etc, etc. ^ ^

Pre-made Profiles
Sometimes people wont ask you to make a profile or give it a option because they have pre-made profiles already for you.It gives you a challenge because you have to work with what is given to your character. (which sometimes is cool, sometimes is crazy.)

Announcements/ updates
Every once in a while you will want to place this in your role play, you show that someone will be away or if you need more characters and want a quick way to update them.

White and black list/reserved
Sometimes you will run into people in your role play that you really like for there help in the story and want to put them on a white list. Or you run into naughty people and either place them on the black list for a warning, a ban from the rp for a couple of days or a total ban from the role play because they didnt listen to the rules. For reserved, you never know when you are going to need to put something in the role play but it is needed up on the first page, so you keep a page just incase.

A place to put the profiles
If you dont like profiles just appearing mid way throughout the role play then you should have a place on the first page for profiles. And there for you should have in the rules saying to pm the profile of your character/ characters to you.

FAQ
Everyone in role plays might have questions to ask the creator or the creator might have facts to tell so no one will be asking questions on those facts. Makes it less confusing. This one isnt on role plays that much, but is always nice to see and use.

Others
Thou i mentioned alot here, there are many others not mentioned or not even thought up yet and you cant go wrong with them because if you put it there, it must go with your role play or the way you think and write, interact with other Gaians.
