There are several bands who have written songs based on characters or events from Dragonlance. So what is everyone's opinion on these songs.
Three songs come immediately to mind with me... Soulforged, Raistlin and the Rose, and Wishmaster.
"Soulforged"
Artist: Blind Guardian
Album: A Night at the Opera
Info: its a song from the prospective of Raistlin and focuses alot on the aftereffects of the Test on him and his reasons for embracing the path he does.
"Raistlin and the Rose"
Artist: Lake of Tears
Album: A Crimson Cosmos
Info: A song about the dynamics of the relationship between Crysania and Raistlin. From third person and a few assumptions are made about both characters. Possibably the easiest to understand the lyrics and slowest of the songs.
"Wishmaster"
Artist: Nightwish
Album: Wishmaster
info: Best I can tell its about the elves of Krynn. Silvara, Alhana, Tanis, Laurana, and Dalamar all get a mention of sorts in it. Non-elf mentions are Raistlin and Lord Soth (though by his first name not his "title"). Very hard to catch alot of the words, though "Shalafi" is mentioned distinctly as is the Inn of the Last Home. I'm still trying to decode the song. hardest to understand as its sung in an opperatic way.
Personally I love Wishmaster and Soulforged, from both a fan of music and Dragonlance. the musical immagry is brilliant in both and they seem to know their stuff.
Raistlin and the Rose I don't care for, maybe because I don't care for that particular pairing and don't see the events in teh same light as the songwriter.
Anyone know of any other Dragonlance Songs and/or want to give an opinion of these three.

I've heard Raistlin and the Rose and I think it's great, there's a good montage on Youtube with that as the background music. Can't think of any more though. redface

Which Dragonlance website? I know of at least two BIG ones... though only the DL Nexus has the music page you mentioned... and they're not quite what I meant.
I was refering to the songs that are on actual buyable albums, and by mainstream artists (if not a bit unknown to most of us), though no slight meant to those artists who wrote the songs for the Nexus.
Also... has anyone else seen/listened to the "teaser" from the movie released by Hickman of the BG concept sketches and "Qualinesti Hymn"... Its AWESOME...
