The politics section will be divided into four sections: Global, National, Provincial, and Local... Who knows what I'll put in, but hopefully it will be interesting!

LOCAL
In local politics, there is a pushing for reform. Everyday citizens are tired of the fear, the death, and the chaos of everyday life. Their struggle is futile, however, for every police officer is being paid off by SOMEone. Every city council member and judge, the district attorney, the provincial sherrif, even the mayor and governor are being paid off. Perhaps not by criminals, but at the very least, by businesses who profit from the dischord. The streets are slowly rotting away because money that SHOULD be used for their repair goes straight into politician wallets. The few policemen who ARE decent, hardworking Marivians, barely have any support from fellow officers and rarely have enough finances from the provence to finance any actual crime fighting. At best, the police exist to bring harmony among crime families, rather than bring peace to the city. Elections for a new goverment is coming up. More details on this will be coming up...

NATIONAL
Recently, as the presidentional candidacy comes closer, candidates comes out of the woodwork. Some even surprising everyone with their stands.
Take, for example, the Left-leaning moderate, Jackson Plinal. An elf of roughly 40 years who has come out recently to demand rights for the harpy race. Much as these things must come, only the race looking down on another can truly make the decision to stop their prejudice. Jackson has made the stand that the law-required face-masks for harpies are unjust and cruel. Furthermore, he also stands against the clearcutting of forests and believes that further safety standards must be made for mining.
