I'm curious whether anyone else had an aha! moment when they read "The Wee Free Men" the first time. I completely recognised the 2nd and 3rd thoughts bit. I have those a lot (not quite on the same level as Tiffany though she is a whole lot smarter than I am) but I always thought I was simply insane, never was able to put into words the way Pratchett does.
Anyone else out there had similar experiences? Perhaps with another one of his books or characters?

Ive had the second thoughts. and Generally end up arguing with myself.
But my mum says it was a mistake to introduce me to Pratchett because when I get in a silly mood Ill argue over stupid things and make points from his books and somtimes refuse to say the number 8. I actually said once Id ask a guy for his liance and a recipt if he tried to rob me. and I pobably would too.

Lol funny xd ! I think Pratchett is one of the author's whose books rub off the most on me. Maybe because he's always alluding to and making fun of things that ARE real or really happening.
But yes if he hadn't read the books then your friend must have been very confused poor guy.

Yeah, I had to giggle when I got to the Second and Third Thoughts, but the part that really got me was First Sight. I point out perfectly obvious things, like "that guy is really creepy, he actually seems like he's oozing", and people brush it off...and then the guy turns out to be a creepy scuzzball. Yep. "A skellington...with all bones on..." Not polite does not mean not true.
