Yet another theory thread of mine. This one has less evidence and is more based on circumstancial findings. Still, I believe it to be true.

I believe that Itachi had learned about Madara Uchiha still being alive and had learned of the terrible plot of Akatsuki before he had joined. In order to strengthen himself to prevent the original Uchiha from accomplishing his goal (which is still unnknown at this point), Itachi murdered his clan to strengthen his Sharingan and his ability. Realizing that Sasuke shares the same chakra that Madara had (and because he was his brother he cared about), he let Sasuke live realizing he may be able to help stop Madara in the future.

Itachi then left and joined the Akatsuki to keep tabs on their movements from within while waiting for the oppertunity to stop Madara. One of his goals now is to try to make Sasuke grow his strength as well for the coming battle against Madara Uchiha.

So my opinion is that in the end, the final battle will include these three parties in the Akatsuki: Pein, Itachi, and Tobi (Madara).

Does anyone have anymore input on this one?

That is an interesting theory. I sounds pretty convincing and could actually work out. I am also not that far intot eh naruto story, because i dont read the mangas, but this theory sounds like it could actually work out.

I am rly far ahead, and been reading ever single clue i have found and this is wat i found out, this is the final battle set for the char Itachi, this may not be in the end correct, but this is what i found.

The final battle is Madara (Tobi), Itachi, and Sasuke. Sasuke kills Itachi and then fights Madara (tobi).

sounds logical, but not logical enough.

yea, thats what i said about it in the post above, just not like u said it, and yea, the conclusion from my first post on this topic, i really need to get a life, i got way to much free time on my hands...

Okay guys, I already know what happened. If you don't like spoilers don't read this.
Madara, as you know, hated the Hidden Leaf because of the rivalry he had with it's first and second leader. The two clans were strong and often faught. The first and second hokage decided to build a shinobi village. Madara was furious of this, because he thought that the other clan was trying to show off. In the Final Vally Madara fought the 1st and was defeated. He then ran away, but he soon returned when the Uchiha clan decided to sign an aliance with the Hidden Leaf. The Uchiha ignored the protests from their formar leader and went on with the aliance. Madara went into hidding and did not reapear for many years.
Many years later the Leaf Village elders began to feel as though the Uchiha's had become arogant. They felt as though a war might flare up if something wasn't done. They knew of the Uchiha protigy, Itachi, and also knew that he seeked peace and wanted to, at all costs, avoid a war. When Itachi became an ANBU the elders decided that they wanted to speak to him. To prevent a war they decided to have the Uchiha clan whiped out and knew Itachi was probably the only Uchiha that could pull it off. Itachi was reluctant, but took the order. He made his appearance change from a gentle person to some one who was very misteryous. He did much of his trainning an planning in secret then the elders ordered him to make his move. Itach then killed the Uchiha clan,but instead of finishing them, he left Sasuke. He told Sasuke he wasn't worth killing when in reality the reason why, the REAL reason, he did not kill Sasuke was because he couldn't bring himself to kill his own little brother. He then fled the village to find the Akatsuki because he knew his order was not yet complete. He knew where to find Madara, but knew he wasn't going to be able to defeat him on his own. He also thought that if he told Sasuke the truth first, Sasuke would either not belive him, or he'd hate the village and would start up what Itachi wanted to avoid;war. He knew Sasuke would seek him out and try to become strong. He would then tell Sasuke the truth.
Sasuke, Itachi, and Madara; all 3 now possesing Mangekyuo and only Sasuke did not know of it's draw back. If used too much the Mangekyou's user would go blind. Madara's younger brother had been aware of this and Madara had already started to go blind. His little brother had gladly given his life and eyes to Madara, because if you take the eyes of another Uchiha and earn Mangekyou the draw back is taken away. Sasuke attacked Itachi and the fight dragged on for a long time. Beforehand Sasuke had alowed Orochimaru to take over his body if it would help him get his revenge. He tryed to use a seal to stop him, but failed and Orochimaru took over. Itachi was aware of this and during the battle told Sasuke the truth, he then told Sasuke he was going to take his eyes. He knew Sasuke alone had the strength to take on Madara and gave Sasuke his own eyes. In the midst of the battle Itachi put a seal on Orochimaru, while still in Sasuke's body, forcing him out and killing him. Soon after Itachi gave Sasuke his eyes, Itachi faded away and Sasuke decided to seek out Madara.

(Please note that there may be a few rough edges to this. If you want the absolute story ask my friend about it. She gave me the info, but I don't remember every last detail and some of this may not be entirely true. It is the basic story and for the most part is the story. He's one of Jaraiya's old students named Yagato. He has taken on several forms. Yagato is his main form. He is NOT Minato, for those of you who still belive that.
