I've heard quite a few times that doom has a lot of Christianity related stuff, but I've only heard one band that is technically Christian (Place of Skulls). I know Trouble have quite a few Christian references, but they aren't a Christian band. So other than that, a few references here and there (Penance for example), and that I've seen a lot of bands wearing crosses or taking pictures with a cross in it, I really don't see a correlation.
Am I missing something? Or is it just saying that a lot of people in doom are Christians?

I believe it's the latter. Paramaecium is an excellent Christian Death-ish Doom Metal band.
