Are amazing.

I love their early stuff the best.

I highly recommend them if you don't already know them.

Up there in my top 10 favorite bands of all time. 3nodding

Early stuff is excellent, but their later hard US-Coldwave-ish stuff is incredible too.

Thats too bad.

I really like their first album but I've heard that the other albums sound very different.

Well, if you liked their first album, you'd like their second too (Whats THIS for...!). I frankly don't like those albums too much, though, lol.
I don't know what their third and fourth sound like yet though.

But Night Time and Brighter Than a Thousand Suns become more synthpop and darkwavey.
Haven't heard the stuff directly after... I hear this is when they bring in more metal characeristicis.
But from Pandemonium and on, they become more American Coldwave.

There's two kinds of Coldwave (which are very different from each other, and almost having no relationship to each other): French and American.

French Coldwave is related to (and arguably the pre-cursor to) Darkwave. It's ambient and somewhat minimalistic. It's kind of a lesser known genre.

American Coldwave melds industrial noise and synthpop with hard rock and heavy metal. Nine Inch Nails' Broken could be described as having American Coldwave elements.

LA is where it's at yo biggrin Although I debate whether being close to entertainment is really worth all that nasty smog and chaos.
